The shop is clean and professional. I like the fact that they can do a multitude of thing not just tires. So far I have given them 3 non tire related services and they have been able to do all 3 without issues. There's hardly ever a wait here and they usually can complete most repairs same day. I came in because there was grinding on my front passenger side. I assumed brakes and rotors and there was also another noise i was concerned about. They took all of my tires off, said the front was good, replaced my back rotors and brakes and tire rod ends. They also did an alignment. They assured me they drove it after the repairs and they heard no noise. I paid them nearly $900 just to get in my car and hear the grinding and the noise. I just went to another shop today. They said the brakes and rotors that Mavis said i didn't need on the front were worn out, they didn't install my tire rod ends properly. They altered something that couldn't be fixed enough to make the alignment pass. The alignment couldn't be done properly bc of suspension components. Just horrible, crappy business. Will not be going back and will warn everyone to stay away. I could've been seriously injured with what was wrong with my vehicle that i asked them to check read more

To start off the customer service here is absolutely terrible. The guy was sitting in the chairs watching TV when I walked in and didn't pay me any attention just gave me a look like I was an idiot and in the wrong place that he couldn't be bothered to help me When I finally asked him if he was the guy that works there he just slightly nodded his head and still didn't say anything. As for the work on the car, they quoted me for a new shock on the back of a Honda accord, which they swore didn't have struts. The guy told me that the strut was only in certain vehicles that this one didn't have it and he could assure me of that so the next morning when I took the car there they took everything off and found out. They indeed had a strut in the back, and could not help me anymore, I would totally avoid this place if at all possible read more

***Attention go somewhere else*** I Brought my 17' Wrangler Unlimited in for tires rotation / balancing and a alignment. Well after 6 hrs later I was good to go. On my way home I stopped by my shop down the road. As I steered left to leave I heard a pop sound and then my steering was stuck. I had to get soaked in pouring rain to see what was going on and to find out the technician put the tie rod adjusting sleeve clamp bolt to the inside. This caused the bolt to get stuck on the sway bar end links. Thankfully this didn't happen while I was driving down the street. It could have been a bad accident for sure. Also my steering stabilizer was not tightened up. My steering is jacked up now where I can now only make one complete revolution to the right before it is maxed out and the Jeep shakes at 65mph (when it didn't before). You would think with 6 hrs, they could have that thing perfect and triple check everything. ****Update**** I took it back to have it fixed and my steering still shakes at 55-65mph (when it wasn't shaking prior to taking it there). Possible they messed up on balancing or the steering stabilizer is shot from them putting it on wrong. read more

I went in to Mavis tire and brakes today because my brakes were making a scrubbing sound in the front. I was given a quote of $149 over the phone. I got there and after waiting with my two small kids for an hour and a half they came out and told me I needed all of my brakes changed, all new rotors and a caliper. They told me it would be $867!! This didnt sound right because I just had all of this replaced in FEBRUARY (Its only mid April) I declined and picked up the parts to take to another mechanic that I personally know. there was NOTHING wrong with my rotors, three sets of my break pads were still perfect. All I needed was my front driver side caliper relaced along with the brake pads on that side. They are dishonest and all they wanted was more money! I wouldnt suggest going to them unless you want to throw your money away. I would give 0 stars if they would let me. What a rip off! read more

Went in to get some tires mounted and balanced. They did that no problem, but tried to tell me that me brake pads on the front and rear were at about 2mm; which I knew was a lie because I had just replaced them myself not more then 6 months earlier. I have a 2000 Mustang that I bought new 18 years ago.. I've always taken Great care of the Mustang and I am very particular about every part on the car... Especially the tires... I am very particular about my tires as well... I moved to the area 3 years ago and recently was in need of new tires... I have looked at over 100 tires from local tire dealers, the internet and haven't found what I was searching for... I was about to give up thinking the tire I was looking for didn't exist anymore... I was referred to Griffin Brothers by a friend and suggested that I speak to Sam, the manager... He spent quality time with me as we looked at dozens of tires on his computer... We found a tire that I was interested in and so he was to ordered for me after I left and was to call me when they came in... However he was informed that it was discontinued so he knew exactly what I was looking for and found another tire and ordered for me to view without any obligation to take the tires... He called and I drove back to his store (20 miles from where I live) and the tire he ordered was the most perfect tire I've ever had for the Mustang... Sam knew exactly what I wanted, he didn't try to sell me something that he knew I wouldn't settle for and not waste my time... The tires were installed today (10.6.2018) and the tires that he suggested have a perfect ride and look... Called Saturday to make appointment for Mon.9:00AM.1994 Saturn about to lose starter. Reminded them of cars age so they could check for starter availability.Was told no problem that they have a quick supplier once they see what starter they needed. Also wanted oil change and state inspection.The inspection guy was not available when my wife took the car in this morning. She waited five(5) hours for the car. The tire pressure monitor on my wife's HONDA Civic developed a crack in it and we started loosing air fast. We were on RT150 coming in to town. My father purchased a set of 4 Goodyear Assurance All Season tires, rated at 65K miles, in January 2018. This compay was then Griffin Brother Tire. According to another local shop, where I went for brake service recentl, the tires were "shot" at less than 25K miles. I visited Mavis twice before then because I had problems with front tires losing air, but because I was told it would be a 3 HOUR wait for them to be looked at, I had them repaired elsewhere. I inherited the vehicle when my father passed, I was with him when he when purchased the tires originally... he would have thrown a complete FIT had he been alive and had to deal with this mess! In any case, when I was told the tires were "shot" I first contacted Goodyear, then contacted Mavis... while waiting for Goodyear, Mavis told me there was " nothing they could do", that I needed to contact Goodyear... even with the original purchase invoice which included all of the vehicle ID info, purchase date and mileage of the vehicle when the tires were installed. At Goodyears recommendation, I took the car to Hickory to have the tires evaluated. I ended up having to purchase 4 new tires, but they helped me go through the process and I ended up paying a fraction of what it would have cost me to replace 4 tires without their assistance. I would not recommend Mavis Lincolnton to a dying enemy. Completely worthless, so thanks for NOTHING! read more

Was introduced to one of the managers while having my vehicle worked on (I believe his name was Pauly if I remember correctly) and I was in disbelief on his tactics for "good business". Using scare tactics towards customers in order to try and make an extra dollar and speaking to his employees like they're inadequate or beneath him so to speak is no way to keep good business in my opinion. The young man who serviced my vehicle was very well mannered and finished the job in a fairly timely manner given the amount of other vehicles in the parking lot there to also be serviced. I took the time to apologize that they had to work under management with clear lack of compassion or people skills by any means. I would rather have the mechanic working on my vehicle take the appropriate amount of time to correctly work on my vehicle rather than to hear a manager go through the bays yelling at other techs to "hurry it up". Someone should rethink their title as a "manager". Was extremely displeased. Other than that my service was adequate and correctly done so I may considering returning to this location for future work. read more

It might be an ok place to get tires but I wouldn't recommend for anything else. I took my truck to get catalytic converter fixed. They replaced some wires to nickle and dime me first and when that didn't solve the problem they recommended another place to actually replace the cc. They should of told me they didn't want to mess with it from the beginning. To top it off the moment I left the place my oil pressure light came on, I called them when I got home and they didn't want to do anything about it. So now I still have to get cc fixed and I have another problem to get fixed as well, that wasn't there before I took it to Griffin Brothers. They'll never get my business again! read more

I think the staff here underestimate the power of common sense.. Maybe it's because I'm younger or maybe it's because I'm a woman. They seemed to be helpful and wanting the best deal for me at first. They told me I couldn't find a cheaper deal on a new tire and even pretended to shop around for me. Funny story the first place I googled I found a new tire for 50$ less.. Thanks anyway Griffin Bros I'm taking my business to Discount Quality Tires AND I'll be shopping around for a better deal on an alinement as well. Purchased tires from them for both vehicles and have had small service work completed here. A couple of weeks ago they provided me with an appointment for 7:30am Saturday (they gave me this time, I didn't request 7;30am). I was there at 7:25am only to realize they don't open until 8am on Saturdays. After 3 hours, they shared they were NOT able to perform the service that I had requested. They did complete the tire rotation, oil change, and inspection. I complained to the manager and he told me 'they would take care of it'. Took the car back to them on Tuesday and no one there knew we were coming, even after I discussed details with the manager. Charged me full price. Guess my time isn't worth anything to them. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
