Went in 2 1/2 weeks ago due to the tire pressure light coming on and learned my tire sensors needed to be replaced. Although I went elsewhere for the sensors (they actually recommended the dealer because of my Make & model car) today I got in the car and my tire pressure light was on again! I went to Mavis on my lunch break without an appointment just to get some air in my tires, hoping for the best (I tried two different quiktrips but their air machines are never operable!) and when I explained the situation the manager told me to just pull up and they put air in my tires and actually found out the core for one of the valve stems needed to be repaired which they performed right there on the spot. Consistent, Excellent 5 star service with a smile, just as before, which is why I came back this time! read more

Amazing service, price and transparency. They showed me the wearing of my rear brakes and front brakes. The rear brakes needed to be replaced but the front brakes were still in good shape. Not overcharging me for unnecessary repairs and giving me a great price for parts and labor. I was in and out of the shop within an hour. And it was a Saturday! On Thursday Mavis Tire put two new tires on my husband's truck. He was supposed to get four, but that's a story for another day. They put the two new tires on the back and wanted to do a front end alignment. H says no. The new tires should go on the front, then they could do an alignment. His appointment was for four tires. So they moved the new tires to the back.; therefore taking off and moving all four tires. H leaves for NOLA the next day. On his way back yesterday, his new F-150 truck starts shaking and he has to pull over. TWO tire bolts are GONE. THREE lug nuts are GONE. He was minutes away from the tire flying off. I called corporate to try to get him some help. No luck. I get disconnected twice, so I go to the Mavis location begging for help. I show them the picture of his tire. The manager was polite at first but then said he was too busy to help me. Interstate Tow in Evergreen, Georgia were amazing. They towed my husband to their shop, ordered the parts and drove him to a hotel and picked him up this morning so he could be on his way. Their assessment is that Mavis did not tighten the lug nuts. So now I wait for Mr. Normal Shaw, Mavis Regional Manager, to return my call to start the process of reimbursing us for the $109 hotel bill and the $308 repair bill. Wish me luck. read more

Terrible service and these people are incompetent. Had rack and pinion steering replacement (of course this was after two times with the power steering pump and other random stuff that they think thought needed to done) and the steering was never right went to another mechanic. They said the rack and pinion was defective. Went back to another Mavis and when they looked at it, they said the store went to should not be doing rack and pinion replacements. That would've been good to know before. Now rack pinion is diagnosed as defective, but Mavis is a no return call. I don't even know if I go back for an oil change. Hate to even give it one star but I guess you have to. read more

Before I give a description of my experience, I just want to say I gave them a 2 based on how good they did their physical services, not their customer service. Now that that's out the way, my wife ended up googling somewhere nearby she could get her tires balanced out and this place came up. They quoted her a decent price for the service, so we figured we would give them a try. She ended up dropping off her car at around 2:30/3pm and they told her it should only take an hour and that it would be done before they closed, which was at 5pm. So we went home and waited, but as it hit 4:30pm we didn't hear anything from them, so we decided to give them a call back. They ended up telling her that they actually noticed that her car rim was bent and that they couldn't balance the tire but instead would replace the tire and move the damaged rim to the back of the car. Sounds weird right? I know. But we needed to get her car back and just decided to go through with he process. So we gave them the okay and a little after 5pm, they finished her car. So they are bringing it around for us to check it out, and I noticed that the tire they put on her car was flat! So I told one of them and they said they didn't noticed, which I thought was weird, and we asked if they could put air in it. Y'all. It took them 10mins to try and figure out how to put air in this tire. They kept telling us that the air turned off at a certain time and they didn't know how to turn it back on. That could have been true, but honestly we were already upset and ready to go so we just took the car and went to a nearby gas station and got air ourselves. I honestly won't be using this place again and I probably won't recommend them to anyone. But if you find yourself in a pickle and you HAVE TO, I would suggest just being straightforward and clear with them so you can be on the same page before they start working on your car read more

I have come to this location since they were Kauffman Tire. As of 01/09/2023, they will no longer receive my business. I arrived Sunday at 2:07 p.m. & stated my concerns to the white female manager(Operator # 6452) who stated she was unable to see me that day, and to return first thing in the morning - no worries. Having had to put air in my tire twice now, I didn't want to risk it going flat again overnight in the cold and now needing a tow, and since they refused service on Sunday, I left there and put roughly 45% of the Fix-A-Flat product inside the tire(I thought I used the entire can lol, this is an important detail) I arrive minutes after they open (~ 8:10 a.m.) and I Am checking out and paying just after ~ 9:06 a.m. - this was the only good thing about the experience. Follow me closely: (1)The tech shows me my tire with the rim still on it and points out the highlighted area in white where the puncture is (a nail); (2) A few minutes later, I Am called back again to see the inside of the tire/puncture (see attached) and I Am told they can have it repaired/patched and me completed in the next 10-15 minutes(I think awesome customer service, fast and swift, and as I expected a tire repair); (3) A few minutes later I Am brought the actual nail; (4) Then a few minutes later he comes back and asks me had I had the tire repaired before? I said no, this is the first time I had been back since I bought the tires new in Dec 2021(Mind you there was a completely different group of techs/manager, I wonder why they can't seem to retain people, just a thought). He then proceeds to feed me the BS, citing since Fix-A-Flat was used per their policy they are unable to patch/repair the tire. Perplexed, I state to them why I used it and that it had not set long as I just used it yesterday afternoon. They continue to say it was flammable, safety hazard, the acid will eat away at the tire, the patch wouldn't seal when they light it, etcetera - basically buy a new tire or we can put a spare if you have one. Flustered, irritated, and annoyed, what was I to do? I briefly did a Google search which resulted in contradictory information regarding repairs and fix-a-flat, but because the nail was taken out, they refused to patch/repair it for a much lesser cost, I was forced into buying an unnecessary new tire when my old one could have been patched! Sad. This "policy" is not rooted in scientific evidentiary data but rather a financial motive by design, faux pas. Mavis isn't thinking about the customer, they are thinking about their bottom line. Nowhere is this policy referenced anywhere. Not to mention, if you were/are paying attention, the tech SEEN the inside of the tire prior to removing the nail and quoting me a repair. He didn't seem green, so I'm pretty sure he has changed enough tires to recognize Fix-A-Flat when he see's it and be aware of whatever the company "policy" was. I was told "never use Fix-A-Flat" basically like it was death to a tire which was a lie. Now, I don't know if one of the other guys in the back told him to do this, if it was the female manager, or if his politeness was a ruse - either way it's not right what they did. I feel disgusted, cheated, and disrespected. I came here supporting local businesses however, I will now patronize another company as I have no trust or respect for Mavis. All it takes is one bad experience to lose a customer for life. Being slimy won't get you very far, you will ALWAYS pay. My tire should have been cleaned and patched $18 - $36 dollars out the door, not nearly $180 dollars. I consulted with over 5 different tire shops, and they all pretty much said the same thing - they are incompetent and/or lied to me to upsell me a tire I did not need. Just an incredibly unorganized and poorly run operation. After hitting a pothole, my BMW 230i's front driver's side tire had an impact bubble so I took it by the shop Friday afternoon. The front desk attendant, the Regional Manager and I all discussed the fact that due to the model of the car, I would need two run-flat tires (to replace the one with the bubble and another one with low tread) and I was quoted a price. "I will order the tires now, drop your car off tomorrow morning and we will get you taken care of." The regional manager said. I dropped my car off Saturday morning as instructed and was told my car would be ready in about an hour and a half. Three hours later I get a call and am told that 1) the actual price was $400 more than the quote and 2) the tires were not in and would have to be ordered. I told the front desk attendant that I was on my way to pick up my car. I arrive at the shop to find my car on the lift, with tires removed. "If you don't have the tires for my car in, why were the current tires removed?" I asked. It was explained to me that the wrong tires were placed on my car and now they had to remove those tires from my wheels, replace them with my old tires, including re-inflating the one with the bubble, and reinstalling them back on the car. The below is not my review. Yelp has no security. Not even a password. Mavis is a great place with great technicians and staff. **** Had a 10am appointment on a Thursday. I showed up right on time. I was there for over 4 hrs. WITH an appointment. Got oil change and tire rotation. The tire rotation was supposed to be free, but they charged me anyway. I noticed this after I paid and went back in to get a refund. No refund was offered. Guy gave me a card for a free oil change next time. I dropped off my car for a leaky tire at 9:15 AM in the morning. They called me around 5:30 PM saying my car was ready for pickup. They said they couldn't find any leaks. I took the car to another place the next day and they found a nail in the tire. I think what happened was they were severely understaffed, didn't have time to work on my car, so they just flat out lied to me. WARNING! I have been doing business with Kaufman tire and Mavis in Dawsonville Ga for years... No issues. Great people. With that said, I brought my teenage daughter's BMW to the Johns Creek location for new tires which I made an appointment for. They Took my $600 and gave me the run around for 4 days never doing my tires. I called corporate to get resolution which apparently made them angry. Upon arriving to get her car, which we were told was ready, We were told by the manager, Jake **, that his area manager Angel instructed him to put The old tires back on the car. That I would receive a refund within five days on my credit card which I paid cash. To add insult to injury I get in her car and every light on the dash is on... suspension, coolant low... So naturally I go back in the store. They denied it all. A bunch of juvenile delinquents. I Go back to the car and it won't start. I leave the car there until the following afternoon around 5 pm only to drive behind the store to find Angel and a mechanic sitting in the parking lot behind smoking weed. I have corporate in New York to no avail. It is apparent they don't care who works for them or what they do. Johns Creek deserves better and I will fight tooth and nail to get what's right for my community. Police report was made and I have contacted an attorney. read more

$99 brake special on website. I need front brakes, they're close to my home, and I'd had some good experiences with Kauffman (before Mavis bought them) in the past. I dropped my car off early on Saturday afternoon, and was told it could be finished the same day even after I told them they could keep it overnight and I I could pick it up Sunday morning. Cool! No call Saturday. Then no call all day Sunday (and my phone is always on for business reasons). No missed calls, no VM. STILL no call on Monday, so I call *them* @ 3:30 PM Monday afternoon and get told "we've been trying to reach you". I have the man confirm my phone #. They did indeed have the correct one. Whatever. The guy then goes through a laundry list of upselling. The "$99 brakes" are actually going to cost $618, and then there still was another $700+ worth of stuff they also wanted to do. I told the gentleman not to do anything yet, and that I would call him back. Which I did ten minutes later, at which point I told him I would be picking up my car and obtaining service elsewhere. He then asked me if my decision to go to a different shop was over price, and I told him that indeed it was. He *then* began an attempt to negotiate the price downward with me which I immediately cut off. The initial ripoff attempt wasn't successful, so *now* you're willing to cut me a better deal?? Nope. Too late. I now absolutely don't trust this location, and I won't allow this place to work on my car again. At the very least they didn't try to nickel and dime a "diagnostic fee" out of me. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! ****SCAMMERS!!!!!**** my car was brought into the shop may 2024 to have wheel studs replaced on my tire hub assembly. their "mechanic" advised me studs couldn't be replaced & i would have to replace the entire hub (which would've cost more money). i guess he tried me simply because im a female but i let him know i knew what can be done on my car & wanted nothing more replaced other that what i brought the car there for. i had 5 brand new studs & brand new lug nuts serviced on my car. not even a week later my abs light, traction control light, & brake light was illuminated with no pressure in my brake pad with brake fluid leaking onto the pavement & all over the rim of my tire. (same side of car i got maintenanced) my brake line is now destroyed & brake pads have been worn down to the metal & smoking due to a mechanic named Darrell Swope which is no longer with the company. My car got wrecked with me & my autistic 7 year old son in the car because my car could not stop due to the brake line damage & not holding fluid. Management has changed 3 times since May 2024 & im writing this review October 2024. Mia was original manager that was helping with my situation & has now been transferred to Lawrenceville location. She was extremely helpful along the way while in contact with her & even after transfer she advised me of next step of contact. Every time the company has switched management, I've had to start the process completely over with filing a complaint through claims customer service number. New regional manager Norman was the person who responded to my claim. I missed his call but he left a voicemail. I returned his call & got voicemail, called him again he eventually answered stating he was on the road & out of the office currently & would return my call. NORMAN NEVER CALLED ME BACK & CLOSED MY CLAIM WHICH I WAS TOLD BY CLAIMS SPECIALIST WHILE FILING MY CLAIM FOR THE 3RD TIME!!! 3 business days after filing 3 rd claim, no call from Norman once again!!! I finally reached out to him after several times & finally got ahold of him. Man lied & said he had tried to call me which was false!! He's refusing to fix front bumper on my car which was caused from wreck, refusing to fix my brake line which was destroyed by an employee this company hired, & refusing to fix the studs that have broken off. (3 out of 5 BRAND NEW STUDS BROKEN A MONTH LATER) which was main reason of having my car serviced. Norman is claiming there is no invoice for me on file & suggesting I go find Mr. Darrell Swope myself to personally take him to civil court instead of the company correcting the issue. As if their employees aren't the face of their company!!! Norman also accused me of paying this random man under the table for services done on my car which is not true & offered no resolution other than to help me track down their old employee Darrell Swope to personally sue him!! I will be contacting better business bureau & going over Norman's head to reach out to his boss on how he's conducting business. Several cars brake systems have been damaged for other customers as well & there's even been a customer who's car caught on fire from metal to metal contact for destroyed brake line!! I will be taking Mavis company to court & subpoena video footage of my car being serviced in their bay. Even have correspondence & photos sent by old employee Mr. Swope as he was servicing the car. Made my appnt by phone at 11am for a tire rotation. When I arrived they said we have no appnt for you. I called at 3:30pm to ask when my vehicle woud be ready. I was told 4pm. When I arrived tp pick up my vehicle at 4pm, it was being put on the rack. The salesperson apologized. At 5:30pm I was on my way. This place is understaffed and has no mgt. The poor gal running the register was overwhelmed but handling things well. Another business overwhelmed and supported by stay at home subsidies from the US Gov't paid by you the workers. read more

Pathetic. I gave them a second chance after last time, when I scheduled a 9 AM and was told they wouldn't have a technician there until 11. They tried to ignore my coupon, but I called them on it. This time, I showed up at 9 and the technician was "running late". 30 minutes later, they pulled my car in. An hour and a half later, they diagnosed that I needed a stud, which I knew, but they didn't have it in stock. Ok, I'll come tomorrow. 20 minutes later, I'm a hostage, waiting for my car. Update: "we ordered the stud, it'll be here in 5 minutes." This is a real-time review, so I guess we'll see. Wondering about the price.... read more

It took me coming back to the front desk for them to finally start on my car. I then didn't get my car back until 11:10.. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to complete a survey. I was at the Newnan location on Saturday to have new brakes put on my car. of course they said I also needed rotors. I had someone look at it the week before and said it only needed pads. I know right! I was suckered into it. I was told my struts on the rear of the car needed replacing. They ordered the part and said to come by around 11 to have them installed. After I left every time I put my brakes on the whole car shook. I called on Sunday and they said it was due to the struts needing to be replaced. Sunday when I called to let them know I was coming in they said there was no mechanic there to work on the struts. Left work early on Monday to see what the shaking was all about. I was told its not the rear struts but the front struts needed replacing. Right there I should have know there scamming people! They said the struts were causing the shaking. I left work early on Tuesday to have the struts replaced. Waiting 2 hours and spending $665 I was on my way home. Well guess what????? The shaking is still happening. Now I have to return today to have them look over the car again. When I looked online and found the shacking is from the brakes not being put on correctly. I let them know that since I was charged $139 an hour for labor then that I would charge them the same $139 per hour for my time away from work and the inconvenience and stress they put on me. Oh by the way the car ran perfect before I brought it in on Saturday to replace the brakes. Everyone wish me luck that they fix it correctly this time. read more
