I needed new tires for the rear of my truck. I wanted the Mavis All Terrain HT, which I had previously purchased for a spare. I ordered them and made an appointment online. The website said if you did that online they would cost $190.49. Installation was fine, but after looking at the paperwork at home, I noticed that I was charged $202.99. I know it is a small amount, but it is dishonest to do that. Not sure I will buy from them again. If I had access to tire equipment, I would buy my tires wholesale and mount them on the rim myself. Progressive had my Navigator towed to Mavis Tire in Rome GA, due to a busted heater hose assembly after hours. Called the next morning and told them why it was there and I needed a quote to repair it. They called back and quoted over $1,200 dollars to replace both hose assemblies. I called the Ford dealer in Rome and their quote was $650 to replace both hoses. Called Mavis and told them NOT to work on it and I would get it towed to the Ford dealer. Found a towing company, and set up for it to be towed. So I called Mavis back and let them know someone would be picking it up at which time I was told that the tech already had one assembly removed and was putting in the new one, and that the charge would be $580 to replace one assembly. Told the person I had instructed them not to do the repair, but had to go ahead since it was almost done. Be careful with this location, because they will try to RIP you off. Mine would have been less than $45o to replace one assembly at Ford. read more

I have been here three times this week, one time for a tire that had a metal shard in it, they were so accommodating with trying to help me get the best deal and give me the best suggestions on how to fix it. Ultimately, I had to just get a new tire, but they even gave me a discount on that. Came back because my splash guard was dragging on the ground the zip tied it up for me free of charge Came back because of grinding sound started under my car and they are running a free diagnostic to figure out what's going on Super thankful for how honest they are and how accommodating they have been and Rachel is amazing! Horrible employees, specifically "Charlie." I had scheduled an appt online to check a few different things dealing with the suspension. He calls and leaves a VM "regarding my appt," telling me to call and ask for him. So on my lunch break, I call and ask for him. He proceeds to say, "Oh, I didn't know you had an appt." Dude. That's literally the reason YOU CALLED ME. He then confirms the services I had requested during my online booking, and asks if I have "suspension issues." Yeah? That's literally why I'm making the freaking appt to check the car! He says I should bring it in so they can take a look. I'm like "Okay. Again, that's why I MADE AN APPOINTMENT." That's the entire plan, Charlie. So I get there and they take a look. I wait in the lobby. Charlie seems about as competent in person as he did over the phone. He comes over to tell me "the tires and brakes and rotors look new." That's because they are. Verdict: Could need an alignment (which I already have scheduled elsewhere), could need shocks/structs, or the tires could need balancing. Cool, so I left knowing no more than when I brought it in. And, on top of the complete waste of time and incompetence, Charlie proceeds to get in my car (why I don't know) and roll the front windows up. I had all of them down on purpose. Clearly he has issues working stuff, because somehow he managed to change my MPH to km/h. I'm honestly kinda pissed and had to Google how to change it back. My son went to this store on a Sunday. Apparently they were telling everyone it would be 2-3 hours. He needed a tire replaced due to a leak and needed to be at work on time. We sent an Uber to pick him up so he could be on time for work, we would pick the car up later. When he returned home after a $30 Uber ride, he got a call saying the car was ready. Guess everyone left because of the wait they were claiming. Called the store to let them know about paying for the ride. Response from staff was terrible, only said "sorry for being so efficient, we'll try better next time". He cut the phone call off saying "this is all I have to say about this" and hung up. Wish my 16 year old son would have told me how rude this staff was before buying a new tire. He did say the man actually working on the tire was very friendly. Prior to this visit, we were renting a car that was sent there for an oil change. When the car returned the tires were bald. You would think a "tire store" would notice bald tires. We ended up having to rent a car that was smaller than we originally requested since we couldn't drive on the tires. Next time we will wait until a reliable tire repair place is open. read more

They broke both wiper motors on our vehicle after being asked not to change the wiper blades, offered us free wiper blades but did not mention the damage THEY CAUSED and sent a pregnant woman with an infant back on to the road with broken safety equipment. I had an 8 am appointment for over a week, called the evening before to make sure the tires are there and he appointment was confirmed. I show up at 7:45 and wait for them to open. They opened promptly at 8 and apologized and said they were short handed and could I come back tomorrow. I told them I had taken off work for the appointment, I had called the day before to make sure all was good and that I had to have it done today because I was on the spare. The guy told me they would call me as soon as they got another tech to come in. I hadn't heard anything at 1 pm so I stopped by and they "worked me in". Long story short, it took 8 hours from my appointment time until they got to me. I will say they were very nice workers but I saw several customers come in and leave because they were "pretty slammed". Seems like their scheduling software is the same they use at me Doctors office. read more

SCAM ALERT!!! If I could give negative stars I would as in my opinion Mavis doesn't even rate 1 star. In my opinion Mavis is running a scam in an effort to get people in for work they don't actually need. I took my car in for a new set of tires to the Peachtree City, Ga Mavis located on Crosstown Drive, for a new set of tires, mounted and balanced. They told me they weren't able to completely balance the tires because the inside of the rim was bent. I thought this was odd because I didn't remember running over anything and hadn't had any problem with wobbling on the tires I just had replaced. Upon leaving, as I got the car up around 45 I did notice a wobble in the front, especially the front driver side. It got much, much worse as I got up to highways speeds, and at one point on a trip to Rome, GA, roughly 2.5 hrs away the wobbling was so bad I was worried my CV joints may be damaged by the wobbling. I stopped at another Mavis in Rome (AT 711 Martha Berry Blvd NE) to see if maybe a weight had fallen off or maybe the balance machine had a problem at the first Mavis. After they re-balanced the wheels, the technician told me they did the best they could but that the wheel was bent on the inside of the rim and they were able to get it a little better but couldn't fix it completely. After another very wobbly ride home, I took it to the place I normally got my maintenance done and had them re-balance the tires. I told them what was going on and they let me come out to the shop while they re-balanced the wheels and showed me that there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG (which I have on video and pictures of the machine readings as well) with the wheels, the tires or anything and it took them all of just a few minutes per tire to balance and now my car rides as smooth as butter. Furthermore, he balanced them using all the normal methods and tools and with me standing in the garage watching as he explained everything, so as to ensure no funny business wa taking place or extra work was required to balance the wheels. The fact that both Mavis stores, 2.5 HRS AWAY FROM ONE ANOTHER, USED THE SAME LIE to describe a condition that literally did not exist prior to bringing it in, and which they induced, is indicative that it is not just bad management of a certain store, but indicative of a CORPORATE-WIDE SCAM TO FOOL PEOPLE INTO THINKING THEY NEED MORE WORK DONE. There is no way possible this could be coincidence, and according to the technician that fixed the issue at the place I usually take it, it was impossible to truthfully, or even mistakenly assert that the wheel was bent. The barrage of excuses I got from the Mgr on duty and the attempts to weasel out of at the very least refunding the cost of balancing was impressive while also being completely ridiculous. The lies ranged from "the wheels were dirty and we couldn't put the right weights on" - (proven false by the tech that rebalanced the wheels at my trusted shop), to "the technician in Rome must've told you the wheels were bent bcz of the notes we put on the invoice" - (implying that he didn't actually take the wheels off to inspect/rebalance them, but instead just read the note, took my car in and let it sit in the garage for a bit to give the impression they did something - except that he did inspect and rebalance them and "lessened the wobble" but again said "you have bent wheels so we cold only lessen it a little bit"), and on an on. In the end, he refused to refund anything so I will be taking this up with corporate. Needless to say, I will never go to any Mavis store again and I will be posting a similar review on every Mavis review site I can find. read more

I live out of state of this one in rome ,ga . I get my two daughters to take their car for check ups and oil change . I got a mavis card to make it easier for this to be done . I bought two set of tires and the oil changes and it came with excellent service. Oil change was a blistering 15 mins . Super nice even when it was getting close to closing time .. read more

I had to start using this place because they seem to be the only tire shop open on Sundays, something I really appreciate being that I work third and Sundays are usually my only days off. After using my old place for a good few years I had to stop visiting them because the last three times I dropped my car off for the day for maintenance it never got touched. I bought a full set of tires from Mavis that I thought was decent and pretty affordable and have lasted me a good while. Then I used them to do some work on my jacked up rotors and springs because the roads in Rome absolutely SUCK! After they fixed all that my car stopped violently vibrating when I have to use the brakes. Now I use them for all my oil changes, too. The only complaint I have about them at this point is when I went to pay for the work they did on my rotors and springs it was about $100 more than what was quoted to me, but since the price of all the work they did was way more reasonable than I initially thought it was going to be I didn't protest. So, for now, I'm content with them. Good job, guys. read more

Finally they were finished and gave him a bill for $830. They had gone ahead and put on 4 tires instead of the one. He told them their mistake and they said he would have to wait 5 hours for them to take them off. They gave him $100 off. This was just their way to make more money. So this is the second time I've had an issue with this location. I'm all for second chances but I'm done at this point they have lost my fleet business and I will make sure to tell everyone I know how bad this store is and I know it's not all stores just this one. 1st time, called ordered 2 tires for the rear of one of my vehicles, to make sure they will be there on Saturday when I come in. Get there Saturday they don't have them when I was just told Friday 5hat they did have them. Ok when will you have them Tuesday ok come back Tuesday (btw I had been quoted $99 per tire on the phone.) I was going to pay up front and leave and comeback later. Well guy behind the counter said that will be $459 I'm sorry what I was told $99 per tire that's a long ways to $459 He's like they are 99 per tire plus tax, s&h, mount and balance, and disposal fee. I'm like well that doesn't make them 99 per tire then does it. So I left without the tire went to local tire shop got two new tire mounted and balanced for $225 at 99 per tire yeah that's $229 cheaper. With the same tire. Ok so today 2nd time. I had purchased thier lifetime brake pads in the past and this past week I started having a grinding noise in the rear of the vehicle Go in today ask them to look at it he comes out and says hey you need to look at this. Brings me into shop bay where my vehicle and points out the drivers side rear brake has worn pad off the outside only some of you mechanics know what that means. So in my head I was like ok bad caliper not releasing after breaking. Going to need a rotor, a caliper and pads cool.... The mech looks me dead in the eye and says we'll you need 2 calipers, 2 rotors new pads and new shocks and the oil change the trans flush plus plus plus. I was like ok why does it need two calipers he's like oh the passenger side is the same way so I walk over the rotor is smooth as glass the caliper is releasing and there is over a ¼ inch of pad left on inside and outside pad. I look at him and say hey you want to try that fib again, well his snippy little service manager jumps in and won't back down, I was like just replace the one caliper and rotor and put new pads on sir we can't do that that's like doing the job half way no it called fixing what's wrong and not ripping folks off. Needless to say I told them to put vehicle back together and I'd take it else where. Btw I did not mention but they would have charged me over $800 it was if I had let them do it. Moral is these jack rabbits will oversale and over charge you bad at this location Don't bring your vehicles here. read more

This location is charge over the pricing for the tires change. I make reservation online for all 4 tires included everything with $463. When my brother bring the car to the shop, they make the price going up to $613. And, they are mentions this price included in tires alignment and warranty. If we don't get alignment right away these tires will tear out faster. Finally, they charge $100 for 1 time tires alignment after they installed all 4 new tires. This is doesn't make sense at all when we come to the shop changing new tire for the car and haven't drive out yet.NOT RECOMMEND. read more

BAD BAD BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Total Cons for a big chain. This isn't totally about the Rome branch even though they damaged my truck. So here is what happened to me. A year ago my wife brought in my truck to get a rear tire. In the process of putting it on the lift (they pulled in the truck) the technician damaged the right and left rear quarter panels behind the cab with the lift "up and crunch". The manager documented the damage and in the ensuing week tried to force me to go to a repair shop they chose. I went and looked at the business that appeared less than reputable and knew that they would try to shaft me. They then pushed me to get three estimates, which i did. I wanted to take it to Davison Chevrolet which was the high estimate, by $250. $2100 total. After 4 or 5 x's trying to get a hold of the corporate employee in charge of claims with no success, I told them I was going to my insurance. At this point it has been about 5 weeks. I had no trust in them at all, complete shady actions by corporate. Eventually they said that they would only cover the lowest estimate. Mind you I had no fault at all in them damaging my truck. I was afraid if i paid out of pocket I wouldn't get any of my money back. My fears were accurate. I got my insurance to cover the repairs and Geico tried to get Mavis to reimburse us. I was out a $500 deductible. Ironically Davidsons bill was $400 less after the insurance co. got involved. That actually saved Mavis money. Now a whole year later and Geico has to sue them for the claim because they refuse to pony up for their damage to my truck. $1900 is all the claim was. Costumers spent that much on repairs in the store. Mavis as a whole is bad news...... any stores mistake wont be honored by Corporate. Sad. read more

I bought tires and had them installed at this location when it was a Kauffman Tire a couple years ago. I was having trouble with an out of balance tire, so I came in to get them rotated and balanced for free, since the Mavis Tire honors that same deal I received when I had the tires put on. After I sat there for an hour, a woman who checked over my truck (who I believe is not a mechanic) told me that the reason I had a tire out of balance was because my shocks were completely worn out and needed to be replaced. I was very skeptical immediately because all she wanted to do was order the parts and have them put on. I left Mavis and took it to the shop in town I always go to for repairs (Quicklane Auto Courtesy Ford) and had them check my shocks out. They looked them over and found no problem with them, so I decided to take my truck back to Mavis to get my free tire rotation and balance, since I paid for that when I purchased the tires there. The man at the front desk of Mavis then said my bill would be $95.95, so I then told him that I had bought the tires there and it was free. He then tried to say the balance for the tires would still be $40, in which I told him that was also free when I came a couple days ago (this was the same guy that agreed that everything was free when I came the first time). They literally tried to steal my money without even thinking I was there the other day. After going back and sitting in the waiting room for an hour again, the same woman had the same claim about the shocks. When I told her that I had another shop confirm that my shocks were completely fine, she started to get a bit bitter with me and double down on her story. I finally said I don't care if the shocks are worn, just rotate the tires and balance them anyways. She then came up with another lie, claiming my tires were "too worn to be rotated". Yet, I have at least a year and a half left in those tires, since they are 35 inch all terrains. She claimed in a very backwards way that a "mom and pop shop" would rotate my tires and that she couldn't allow it for "corporate liability reasons". I was then shuffled out of the store very quickly and left with nothing to gain from buying my tires at this location. So, I immediately took it back to Quicklane, Ford's CORPORATE oil change and tire business, and they instantly rotated and balanced my tires, which fixed my tire balance issues completely! The only reason I was treated this way is because the employees at Mavis clearly did not want to perform a free job. I was very shocked at how inconsiderate and rude the female employee from Mavis was who looked at my truck. Please never spend money at such a horrible business. read more
