I would give it 4.5 stars but definitely one of the better bagel bakeries in Long Beach. My friends and I ordered breakfast sandwiches for the beach and everyone was happy with theirs. My only complaint with my bagel with eggs and bacon and cheese is it could've been a little more seasoned. But the bagel was good and overall, the sandwich was good. My goal girlfriend ordered a bagel with cream cheese... A very reasonable amount of cream cheese, which is a huge pet peeve of mine! I don't know how many bagel bakeries give you barely any cream cheese, which I can't stand. If you're gonna charge me a fair amount for a bagel with something on it, then charge it, but give me a reasonable amount of whatever is gonna be on it. The bagels here are very good. They're large, fluffy, soft, and chewy - just like a NY bagel should be. The service is surprisingly slow, especially given multiple workers floating around. There are two small tables with two chairs each, right at the entrance. If you are looking to eat in, I would advise going to one of the numerous other offerings that allow for this. After the owner replied I tried to give this place another chance because of supporting local businesses! It was fairly going well until the past days where my order was completely botched and my boyfriend had to go back and they misheard him - completely understandable, fixed graciously. Tried again today and my bagel was the wrong type and I understand pumpernickel and whole wheat are both brown, but if one works at a bagel place the difference should be known, even during a holiday weekend. It's not the most wheelchair accessible despite claiming to be. It's hard for a wheelchair user/user of a walker to get around in the place and turn, especially when it's with a few other customers (which is expected of a business). Any areas to wait on the line are going to be blocking the drinks with the mobility aid and the corner with the tables one blocks people eating and needing to get up. Aware from personal experience - but there's not much that can be done in a small space to remedy this so I do understand. read more

This place used to be great when Max owned it years ago. I stopped going here because the quality isn't there anymore. This morning I tried it one more time. I get a bagel. I had the guy cut it in half with butter on the side. I get to work to spread the butter on it but, when I opened it it was RAW inside. I was so upset. I wrapped it back up and took it back after work to get my money back. The guy( I don't know his name) thought I was stupid or something. He tries to tell me that cutting into a hot bagel causes the raw doughiness texture, WRONG! I get hot bagels in half all the time because I don't like the butter/cream cheese melting before I get to work. I was under baked plain and simple. I would never recommend this place. UPDATE: responding to owners response. That's absolutely false. You tried to shortchange the refund. You were the rude obnoxious one. Solid bagel at a cheap price. We went in Sunday morning and got an everything bagel with two eggs and swiss cheese at $3.75 which is a great deal. The bagel was fresh and came out fast. There was a line of around 5-6 people and moves really fast They're your usual bagel shop and sell a variety of bagels, cream cheese and sandwiches. They also offer free delivery and each bagels was around $0.90 which is great. It's definitely a place to order for take out, but there are a couple of tables to sit at. Delicious bialys and decent chicken salad. We had coupons for a free sandwich so long as it was either Boars Head or chicken/tuna salad. Service here is quick and they bring your drinks to your table if you're eating in. The unsweetened iced tea was refreshing. They offer both homemade and store bought bialys. Bagels are really good. Service is really bad. Bagels are fluffy with crunchy crust. Employees unsmiling and completely lacked any greeting. Just kind of stare at you when they are ready to take your order. Cream cheese with lox..really good and not over salty. Service really slow. One person, per order doesn't seem productive. Hand rolled bagels. This was my second time here. The first time they screwed up and gave me butter instead of cream cheese. Really simple orders screwed up...emloyees just not into it. As the line grew..one of the girls simply waited by the grill for something rather than doing anything else. No multi tasking skills. Looking around the place could use some cleaning and organization. I hate to see rolls being grabbed from clear plastic bags and served and and finger prints on muffin cases.
