This place is hit or miss. There are a number of L.I. Bagel Cafe's on Long Island. I think all of them are pretty good. This particular location is usually pretty consistent with the bagels themselves. Sandwiches (breakfast or lunch) are a little inconsistent though. Sometimes they're excellent and other times they're pretty underwhelming. My suggestion, stick with the basics and you'll be fine. Hot and iced coffees are decent as well. read more

I've never written a Yelp review in my life, but this was so ridiculous i had to. Charging extra to toast a bagel or bread at a bagel shop is genuinely one of the most absurd upcharges I've ever seen anywhere. I completely understand that food prices have gone up, and I have no issue paying more when restaurants are dealing with higher costs. That said, toasting a bagel is the bare minimum of what a bagel place exists to do. Nickel and diming customers for something that should be standard is insane. I visited this location for a bagel and coffee after a walk on the beach in the morning. This Bagel Cafe is like any other Long Island deli serving a variety of sandwiches, breakfast foods, and drinks. There were many cream cheese options and the bagels were fresh. There is no organized line for ordering your food so you have to get the attention of the staff when you reach the front. They also did not ask whether I wanted my bagel toasted so I ended up with a cold and hard bagel filled with a chunk of butter. The coffee also tasted burnt. Haven't been here since we moved from Long Beach a couple of years ago, and what a change! Renovation makes it easier to order and pick some deli and side offerings. Place your order at the counter and wait a little bit for delicious, heavenly bagels or sandwiches. I like that our order taker is also the order maker. I think it makes for a smoother delivery because the guy making my sandwich sees my face when I say "not a lot of cream cheese, please". I had the whole wheat everything, toasted and scooped, with lox and cream cheese and it was PERFECT, just as I remembered a true NY bagel, lox and cream cheese (and everything else that goes on it) should be. Hubby had BEC on Whole Wheat everything and the B was exactly as he wanted it, with loads of cheese atop the perfectly fried eggs. The iced coffee was very good. We sat at one of the indoor tables (there are a few outdoor picnic style tables) and noticed that there are USB outlets and regular plug outlets at each table, very nice touch. read more

The online system is not connected to any independent payment apps like Toast, so you need a separate username and id. So - I gave up and called another bagel shop, My order was ready for pickup when I arrived 15 minutes later, and was almost half the price. This place has a line and it moves pretty well because people are working hard and the customers are excited to eat all this yummy deliciousness. I went back and forth between tuna and whitefish and landed on the whitefish salad on cinnamon raisin. I love this combo. With some lovely cucumber dill salad. One note. Rudest staff of any business in Long Beach, especially the woman with the constant scowl on her face. My daughter put in a pick-up order at 11:40am. She got a notification that it would be ready at 12:05pm and then another that the order was ready for pick-up. I went in and waited for 25 minutes and watched about 20 people wait on line, order and get their food. When I asked the manager he said "she's working on it". Whatever their order ahead system is it clearly does not work. When she finally finished she handed it off to the manager and stared at me from across the room shaking her head like I did something wrong. This is not the first time she has messed up my order and then when I said something she gives ME the attitude. I can't believe she still works there with the way she treats paying customers. Okay well now I feel like a jerk, got ROTD on this one but it doesnt truly highlight how much I actually love this place. To start, everyone who has visited me since I moved has had bagels here, I make sure of it. Everytime I show up, busy or not, the staff is friendly but also running around like crazy. The lines move very quickly but are also worth the wait. My new absolute fave is the italian. The bagel is piled high, very high with meats. I mean instagram worthy high. The meats are fresh, bagels of course delicious. The sides of a pickle and a pasta salad are also nice little additions. Well worth the price since I can usually get two meals out of it. I appreciate the employees on this one since it does take longer to prepare. Great thing to pack for a day on the beach! Also, the Baconeggandcheese(as I've been told to say it) is amazing. Heed the reviews...they have low stars for a reason! Bagel with cream cheese and lox...$23 with tax... That is absolutely disgusting! I live in Manhattan now and I don't pay that much at literally any bagel store! No bagel store on Long Island that I've ever been is that expensive! What a freaking joke... will never come here again! I could go buy my own cream cheese, bagels, and lox, and have leftovers and not spend much more. I went in after work Tuesday night and had to wait 10 mins while 2 works made an uber eats order fresh and when I ask for a chicken panini the worker asked me if there was any in case and then the worker told me that there wasn't any left and asked if I wanted something else. The reason that I am leaving a one star review is because of one employee that works there. There is one woman, very short and wears glasses. For the past six times that I have visited this store, she has been the person who helps me with my order. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I order with her, she walks away and goes into the back for a long period of time. She doesn't say anything to me about checking with the kitchen or something important. She just walks away. I then have to be helped by the other employees that seem to be busy with other customers' orders--which are people who are very friendly and competent. To add on, this woman has given not only attitude to me, but also my father when she "helped" him. Lastly, this woman likes to talk under her breath and complain, when in reality she is talking clearly and loudly enough for people to hear. I sincerely hope this establishment considers whether she is a valuable member of their team, as she does not even begin to represent the quality of customer service that her other employees begin to exemplify. Today at 10:11am I placed a pick up order on Seamless and got it almost an hour later (11:00am) I patiently waited in the store for a half hour, and then finally got my order which was supposed to be just one egg with avocado on a bagel. Then when I got to the beach to eat it, it was a wrap with hash browns and bacon. I didn't even get a bagel. I was given a bag with my correct receipt but wrong order. I understand you guys are busy but there was no system for pick ups or deliveries and it was very disorganized. And then on top of all that received my order wrong. I received a refund on seamless so it's fine but you guys really need a better pick up system or have no pick ups at all! The girl doing the pick up orders was overwhelmed and just gave me any sandwich that came out of the kitchen. Not to mention that a wrap is a very different shape than a round bagel so I'm thinking she knew but didn't care. After waiting an hour, this just isn't good customer service whatsoever. This is the place to grab bagels in Long Beach. It gets pretty crowded during the weekend but I do have some pro tips to help you out. Pro tip 1: Order online for pick up. There is a separate line in the store for pick up. There was nobody in the pick up line when I went. Pro tip 2: Drive there with a friend. The parking is small and limited so if you bring a friend, your friend can pick up the food while you wait in the car. They have lots of different bagels to choose from l. You can have it as a sandwich with eggs or with cream cheese. I had an everything bagel with vegetable and scallion cream cheese. It was absolutely delicious!
