Purchased a used trailer. Issues with the trailer were not disclosed (yes, I should have inspected better). Worse yet, the Covington manager refused to honor the price posted on the website. Given the issues with the trailer, the web advertised price was certainly more appropriate than the "claimed correct price". Reached out to corporate. Neither the GM Greg Whitfield or Sales Manager Scott Holcomb were interested in reaching a resolution. We have been looking for a car trailer in the chatsworth area the only problem I had was Sunday was the only day I had to purchase one. After talking to a different trailer company they wouldn't meet me that day to purchase one. I came across max built trailers which thank god I did there trailer was built so much better and a better looking trailer and better priced! Once I talked to Scott who runs that location I told him my circumstances he came in on his day off and moved a dozen trailers around to get the one I needed that type of customer service doesn't happen much anymore Iv been in retail for over 15 years trust me! Common sense and Customer service are a mystery to these people. I purchased a new trailer. 2 miles down the road my entire truck was shaking. I took it back and said it feels like a bent axle. I was told it just need weight on it. I went straight to a tire shop (PORT TIRE) and paid $60 to have the wheels balanced. The tires were a little out of round, just cheap trailer tires, pretty common. I loaded my car on it. The entire trip to the races my truck shook violently. I took the trailer back, asked for new tires to see if that would work. Sales guy had to call the owner to ask permission every step of the way. New tires didn't fix it. I said I still think it's a bent axel so, I asked for an exchange. Can't exchange it they said but it'll be covered under warranty. I live an hour away so i'm driving back and forth taking time off work to deal with this "defective trailer". They kept it. Called a week later. It was something with the brakes, they fixed it. I drove off, still shoot. I brought it straight back and asked for a new trailer. Nope. They called a week later said it was something with the wheel hub too tight and it was fixed. I drove off the lot and it still shakes. They kept it a third week, shipped it back to their factory where they discovered it was a bent axle. Now they say mine is fixed, or I can get a new one, or a refund. The experience has not been pleasant to say the least so I decided on a refund. I've called. I've text. I've emailed. Everytime I do reach someone they tell me they're working on my check and it'll be in the mail. It's been 6 weeks since I was offered a refund. Now they have my money and the trailer. I've filed a complaint with the attorney general, I've hired a personal attorney, I've filed with BBB and I'm leaving reviews everywhere I can to warn people of just how shady this place is and what lengths these guys will go to just to keep your money. Update: my 1st review was when I bought my trailer from them over 4 years ago. I have used my trailer alot in this time and it has held up great. I have pulled it all over to northern Virginia, Dallas Texas and around the south. Other than a little faded paint it is as good today as it was 4 years ago. I've seen trailers made from other manufacturing companies that looks or are in alot worst shape than mine after 4 years. So I have to say that maxbilt does build a very good trailer and today I wished I would have bought two of them one to leave at each of my homes as I live in two different states. I hope to post a pick of my trailer when I get back to my other house to show how well it has held up. Bottom line you can't go wrong with the purchase of a max bilt trailer. read more

For what's its worth they built a decent trailer for the price. I drive four hours because I couldn't find anything remotely similar for the price. HOWEVER, their customer service lacks. I ordered a trailer on 02APR21, it is now 14JUL21. I 2as quoted a 6-7 week window. We are at 15 weeks and I keep being told that it's on the stack to be delivered next week. Now find out that they haven't even installed the brakes yet and they are now waiting on another part unrelated to the brakes. Customer service is horrible and it must be a continual problem as they stated that their company policy is to not transfer any one to upper management or give any contact info such as an email. I wrote the Midland, NC location THREE times through their text box on their website. No response. I wrote and email to their location and asked for a response and a quote. I explained I was ready to buy but wanted a quote on price and availability of a specific trailer they advertised before I drove 3-4 hours to come look and they might have nothing I wanted. No response. I wrote an email to THE OWNERS in Chatstworth, GA asking for their assistance and explaining the problem... and they responded, it was my fault I had no response because I was writing the GA location and not the Midland, NC location. Really? After 2 more emails explaining situation and asking for a price and a quote... more talk. No answers. I almost get the feeling they don't have much inventory and figure if you drive that far, you will settle on something they have. If this is indicative of how they treat their customers with cash in hand ... ready to buy... I wonder how they will service what they sell... and how they will deal wit you if you have problems with one of their trailers. Pretty obvious, they think customers are stupid sheep. I contacted Max Built Trailers on 7/14/20 via Facebook messenger. I was contacted back within a hour or two. I ordered a 16' trailer that day. Had a rear gate and a few other custom accessories added to the build of the trailer. The price for this trailer was less than anybody I contacted previously. Any questions I had throughout the build was answered the same day. I just picked up the trailer today. It exceeded my expectations!! Took a total of 30 days for a custom trailer from the day I contacted Max Built Trailers. Till I picked it up. I would order another one tomorrow if I needed. Seen great reviews of their trailers so I drove down from Tennessee and looked at them myself. They did look very well built. I told the owner that I would get back with the 2 other guys that worked with me and wanted new trailers as well for sizes. He said just let him know and he'd make a deal. Figured out what we wanted and tried for over 2 weeks to get a hold of someone to get them ordered. All I got back was Facebook messages saying the owner was very busy and i'd get a call back. One of the other guys at work called for 2 days. Left voicemails and online messages to no avail. We just ordered 3 Stryker Trailers from a dealer not too far away. Should have them in 3-5 days. Every time someone writes a negative review they always throw it back on the purchaser when it appears the office staff is the major issue here. read more

they use 13" tires on their single axle trailers and only 2x2 angle main frame, their trailers are no better than the tractor supply or lowe's trailers as they advertise but they are cheaper in price, it all goes right back to u get what u pay for. i personally would not buy another one. read more
