The services were excruciating to get through. Even a simple cleaning. I feel heard and listened to when I come here! places i've been to in the past I just felt like another number for them to get through. not a good feeling. they will take care of you and suggest everything needed to ensure your teeth are healthy, but are not pushy if you say no. it's your teeth, you only get one pair as an adult, take care of them!

It's my front tooth and I'm extremely nervous about it. I've had root canals and interior bleaching that felt like pain from hell from years ago so I have been very anxious. I went in for my tooth extraction this morning. I noticed I received a text from Dr. Tiner's office yesterday saying they had prescribed me amoxicillin. That was the only drug listed. I knew the amoxicillin was going to be for after my procedure so I had arranged for my ride to take me by CVS and pick it up on the way home after the procedure. When we showed up today, they asked me where my oral sedation was. The office never explained to me that I was going to have an oral sedation prescription that I needed to have filled and brought with me to the office. Nurses looked in the back and saw that they had some left over from previous patients and they would be able to give it to me so it was not a big deal. At this point, I'm already losing trust in the office. I should've been aware that the oral sedation I was going to have was going to need to be picked up by me beforehand and that was never communicated. I go to the back and have a quick x-ray and another nurse tells Dr. Tiner that I don't have my oral sedation but someone said we had some. Dr. Tiner confirmed. He walked into our area and set the oral sedation on the counter, looked sideways at me, and in a very condescending tone said "I don't usually have these." he then explained how I needed to have brought my own sedation. I told him nobody told me I was going to need to bring my own sedation, I would have filled the prescription before my appointment had I known it was that important and then he still managed to respond in a condescending tone. I told him I was going to be leaving and then I got the spiel about how much he wants to help people. I go out to the front lobby, crying, and another nurse says, please don't worry we have plenty of oral sedation in the back. Dr. Tiner seems to enjoy talking down to women when they are very anxious and scared. He should be ashamed of his behavior this morning.

My mother in law came in today for a visit to get some work done, continuing on per previous work. You were so rude to her. Your snide remarks and snarky attitude were not needed or called for. The comments you made to her were so incredibly out of line, I can't believe you're allowed to interact with patients. Is this how you speak to your own mother or how you would like to be treated when you're PAYING for a service?! I truly hope you receive some training on how to act and how to treat patients. As for the rest of the practice, the least you could've done was honored the discount my mother-in-law has been receiving for her care. Affordable dental work at your practice is impossible so the discount was the way she was able to keep going to get her work done. You should really work on your patient interactions, bedside manner, and ethics. If you're looking for a great dental practice, keep looking. Besides the rude comments and snarky vibes, there's too much drama at this office between the dentist and at least one other member of his staff.

I saw Dr. Ash for a tooth extraction and bone graft. He and his assistant, Phil, were very thorough and explained everything Dr. Ash was doing. Dr. Ash was considerate and very compassionate. I took my mom to the Ideal Dental on Midway and Northwest Highway today, and it was one frustrating…read moreexperience after another. The lobby was extremely hot while we waited. They took my mom back for X-rays and told us they would come get me afterward, but they forgot until my mom reminded them. Then we found out their regular X-ray machine wasn't working, so they had to take the X-rays manually while she was sitting in the dental chair. After the dentist examined my mom, she told us my mom could keep her crown and that they would remove the temporary filling and place a permanent composite filling that same day. I specifically asked if they could do it that day, and the dentist said yes. She and her assistant left, and we waited...and waited. Eventually, a technician came in to discuss antibiotics and confirmed they were still going to do the composite filling. She said she would get the dentist. We waited even longer. Then another staff member walked by and told us we were free to leave. I explained that we had been told my mom would be getting her permanent filling that day, so we continued waiting. A short time later, the office manager came in and asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment for Monday because they could not do the filling that day. I explained that the dentist had specifically told us it would be done today. The office manager responded that the dentist doesn't manage the schedule--she does--and that there was no availability. My question was simple: if that was the case, why were we told to wait? What disappointed me the most wasn't that they couldn't fit us in--it was the complete lack of communication and accountability. At no point did the office manager apologize for the confusion, the miscommunication, or for keeping us waiting. Instead, she repeatedly talked over me and simply offered us an appointment for Monday. My mom decided we'd rather go somewhere else, and the response was basically, "You have every right to." Unfortunately, this isn't our first disappointing experience with Ideal Dental. We've received different information from different locations, and I was even sold a dental plan that I haven't been able to use, which has been a waste of money. This experience only reinforced why we choose a private dental practice: clear communication, accountability, and respect for our time. We'll be going back to the dentist we've trusted for years, and I would strongly recommend choosing a private practice over Ideal Dental. Based on everything we experienced, I cannot recommend Ideal Dental, especially the Midway and Northwest Highway location.

I told them I was no longer wanting to be a patient and requested my X-rays then the whole mood really changed. Dr Shatto is completely unprofessional and today it really showed the dynamic in their office and what I expected. He came into the room for my fillings, asked why I wanted to leave being a patient, I stated personal reasons, and he stated he would not be able to do my fillings. They gossip about patients sometimes thinking the patient can't hear, this dentist office usually have a totally different moral but now I am glad todays appointment went the way it did and I dodged a bullet. Dr Shatto also recommended Invisalign a costly penny for me which I am not ideal candidate for but still just wanted to make profit on a more severe case. Even after telling me he didn't want to do my fillings, he continued on to discuss my wisdom tooth. Mind you, my wisdom tooth he attempted to take out a couple years ago, he was only able to take out partial which left me in excruciating pain until he was able to take the rest out a week and a half later. Beware. Save the headache and customer service experience, let me be an example.
