When Martin (the Value Rooter rep) came, he did a cursory check and told me he was about 90% certain I had a slab leak. Unfortunately, having a tension wire foundation(?) AHS wont cover it. All signs pointed that way and I agreed with his assessment based on the evidence noticeable. Then he quoted me the price. $3200! Needless to say, I had to check around for a more reasonable price. We have a friend who had some plumbing work done recently and she suggested Larry from BDL Plumbing. We called Larry and explained what the other assessment was and the quote. Larry understood and quoted me a price less than half of Value Rooter!! We had Larry come out and he worked all day on what he had assessed as the problem. By the end of the day he told me straight, that it likely wasn't what the previous plumber and he had initially assessed. It would be a much simpler (and less expensive) fix. I don't blame this on him as he was honest about it and reduced his cost based on the misleading symptoms. I am thouroghly satisfied with his work and more importantly his integrity.
