I also had them quote a price on exhaust & Catalytic converter replacement which I will need down the road. Just a ballpark for future. I examined their work. They do good work. Im going back to them in future. I also sat in waiting room and talked to a guy who's had them do brakes several times for his car. He praised their price and work for that. Good to know. I provided the fault code (P0750) along with background on what had already been done to the vehicle, and asked them to review the problem and provide a quote to replace the shift solenoid. The following day, I received a call with their "diagnosis," which was surprising and disappointing. They stated that based on the code, dirty transmission fluid, the solenoid supposedly being internal to the transmission (it is actually external), and what they believed to be 180,000 miles on the vehicle, they recommended replacing the entire transmission. In reality, the vehicle currently has under 153,000 miles. They quoted approximately $5,000 for a transmission replacement, which I declined. I completed the repair myself shortly after. The shift solenoid was accessible through a side pan in the engine bay, and the job took only a few hours. I also performed a fluid change since it was due. The vehicle is now shifting smoothly and operating normally, confirming that a full transmission replacement was unnecessary. I will say the manager/owner was friendly during our initial conversation and did not seem dismissive. However, the information provided during the estimate was inaccurate and ultimately led me to feel that either the shop was pursuing a high-dollar repair or simply did not want to take on the actual job. If the work was outside their technicians' scope, I would have preferred they say that directly. I wish them well as they grow their business, but based on this experience, I will not be returning.

They're so honest about exactly what you need done, what you can skip that a dealer will try to sell you, and do it all at a reasonable price. Most recently, I brought in my daughter's Jeep Wrangler for an inspection before her Spring Break road trip. Besides noting it was due for brake and filter changes, Angel also noticed an oil leak. Rather than trying to gouge me for a diagnosis, he told me to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it. Sure enough, it was a damaged oil pan that had to be replaced- under my warranty. Many shops would try to quote you a price and do it, but I appreciate it when these guys tell me to take the cars to the dealers when there's a big problem. Just the best place- I wish more businesses were like this. The world would be a better place: 5 stars, absolutely the best in the business.

I've been looking for a mechanic close to home for years now. This is a much harder task than I…read morethought. I came across Roberts on Groupon and for a short while, thought I had found a mechanic. I met the owner on several occasions and he is an incredibly nice and honest business owner. His main office guy Mario, is as well. They want your business and want to make sure you are happy with the service you received. My problem was that too often, I was unhappy with the work performed. One of the challenges for me was that they are only open M-F, 9-5. When I needed work done - it's a day off. My expectation is that the work would be done right the first time. Unfortunately, three times in a row, it was not and it cost me quite a bit of extra time off as I had to return: The first time I had an oil change and an air filter put in. Afterwards I could hear a vibration in the engine at high speeds. It turned out that the air filter wasn't properly placed in the housing. Small issue The second time I had new tires placed on the car. They told me I had to go to the dealer because the camber wasn't to spec. On my way to the dealer, my steering wheel started shaking very strongly. I mentioned it to the dealer - they checked and the tires weren't balanced (the dealer balanced for free). They also noticed that three of the four tires had imperfections in them. So it was back to Roberts. In all fairness, Roberts was very nice and apologetic and likely made no money off of this work. That is because every tire that they went to put on had an imperfection in it. It took quite a while to get it right. I believe I had to take two days off of work just to get new tires. The third and final time I was back for an oil change. They mentioned that I needed new wipers. I said sure. The mechanic must have never checked the operation of them because when I tried to use them there was a pretty large part that didn't even touch the window. They used aftermarket parts and forced something too big into the wiper. As a result it bowed and a part of it was never flush against the window. So again I went back. Again I received apologies and was told they would fix it. Then I was asked if I had some time because they didn't have the part needed. I had finally had enough and said I would not be coming back. What made it worse was that to fix it I had to spend an additional $60 at the dealership. Air filters and wipers are small issues - if things went wrong on these I couldn't imagine what could go wrong with bigger issues. The only reason I didn't give one star was the owner. Like I said - honest and nice. He should probably look into the work his staff are doing. I can't imagine that I'm the only one who this has happened to.

Following a brake/rotor replacement they performed last Nov, I still have rotor/pad noise in the R front since I drove it off their lot. Also, my battery was dead when I went to pick up my car from that brake job. At least I got a fast & free jump with apologies...bonus? Sorry to say, not going back now.

He had just over 10,000 miles on the vehicle and they already talked him into a cabin air filter. When I called, they said they sent him a video of the air filter which we all know how that goes. There's always one on hand at the service department that you can take a picture of or bring out to show the customer before you screw them. Anyway, before you buy a car here keep this in mind maybe check out the service department ask questionsand maybe choose a different dealer. Pep Boys does a tire rotation for $10 including additional services and the cabinet air filters that I found online go between nine dollars and $18 and they're not very hard to put in yourself.
