This spot is ideal for people watching their macros, want a light, nutritious meal, or who want to grab something quick on the run. Food is portioned and includes nutrition/macro info. The Monterey location has a funky speakeasy style dining area where guests can microwave and eat their food. That was a fun feature. In terms of the food itself, the salmon was good and microwaved well (I usually don't microwave fish) but the green beans were steamed with no salt or seasoning. I also feel that $15 per meal is a little steep for the portion and preparation, but I understand it's costly to operate a business in downtown Monterey. Overall, it was a decent experience. My biggest issue was the lack of any vegetarian or plant based options. Every meal had meat or fish. It would be nice if they offered tofu or tempeh as a protein option, or a meal that is veggie forward. read more

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I was new to town, waiting in a hotel with no cookware. I found this place and ordered ten different meals. They have a huge variety and list all macros and calories before you order. So far every meal has been a homerun and I haven't had to cook a thing. Found myself in Monterey CA for a couple days on a business trip and had the pleasure of eating Maxfit Meals for just about every meal while I was there. They were delicious, fresh, fairly priced and far less calories than traditional take out or restaurant dining. Loved that you could walk into one of the stores, buy a meal, heat it up and eat it right there. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The stores were clean and tidy and had plenty of seating. I signed up for the meal program (I'm sure that's not what it's actually called ;) and I have NOT been disappointed! The food is so good, and very filling! Definitely makes you feel better than spending the money in one of the many fast food establishments nearby. And definitely saves me time from meal prep on weeks that I'm especially busy. The little lounge area in the back is a great place to sit and eat if you're not taking your food to go. They have a microwave so you can warm your meal up, condiments and (i think) water for free :) An awesome selection of supplements and products like Bang drinks, kombucha, and Lenny & Larry's cookies! They seem to always have a good deal on one thing or another! Also, the people that work there are very knowledgeable and helpful! I LOVE Max Fit Monterey. I'd never been out to their Salinas store but always heard my friends talking about it, so when they opened a store in Monterey, I just had to check it out! I've shopped at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe and never got the kind of service I get at Max Fit. Yeah, the staff at those places was always nice, but I always felt like a "customer." At Max Fit, I feel like family. I have lots of questions ALL of the time and the staff never gets irritated or bothered by it (or if they do, they don't show it). Zach and Travis are great! I'm personally a fan of the Forbidden Labz BCAAs (Green Apple flavor) and just recently tried their pre-workout Chaos Unleashed...I'm a small person and should have only taken half a scoop, just saying. For their prepped meals, they have a pretty good selection. For those people who talked about there not being a lot of options, I'm wondering if they're stopping by later in the day? Because every time I've gone, there's been more than enough to chose from. The prices are great to begin with, plus they always have promotions going on. I feel like I'm getting a great value: good products at a fantastic price. This is one of those places I'm excited to visit. Their meal plan/prepped food could be really great...but it's not. The selection at their Monterey store is limited, and half the time I come in they have almost nothing to choose from at all. When I first started picking up the prepped meals the label had the nutrition information on it, which was very helpful. Unfortunately that has since stopped. The food (when they have it) is fairly tasty and the servings are large enough that I often eat only half at a time. It's a great concept and a decent price, just not very user-friendly yet. Hopefully they can iron out the kinks and bring it to its potential. The rest of the store is three star; a little heavy on the branding though. read more

Time from shopping, thinking about what to cook, then cooking, and then cleaning. The Max Fit Meals is a way I can buy that time back and spend with my family while being healthy. I love Max Fit Salinas so I was excited to stop in to the brand new Monterey location. The store has a fun laid back vibe, and it is a great place to stop in for a quick healthy bite. The parking in front was convenient and there is lots of parking in the rear of the store. I bought my wife a branded "Max Fit" sports jacket while I was in. She LOVED the styling, and the quality of the product. Staff was helpful, and answered all of my questions, but were not pushy like you sometimes find in other stores. I have never encountered a Supplement store like this. I stopped by to purchase a preworkout since I forgot to bring one with me and I was amazed when I walked in. Seriously one of the best businesses of its kind. Max Fit has everything you could possibly look for when shopping for health and fitness. From their healthy fresh meal preps, to their smoothie/juice/coffee bars, to the endless brands of high quality supplements and vitamins available, to the awesome staff, this business knows how to provide the best possible quality for the best possible value. I haven't tried all their meals, but the Thai Chicken Curry was very delicious and nutritious! Not only that but it was priced less than most combos at my usual fast food restaurants. I am a huge fitness enthusiast so being able to shop for my supplements and being able to have lunch and a smoothie in their cozy lounge was everything I could have asked for and more. During this Covid-19 pandemic, it's tough to get out and shop for groceries and on a regular basis, keeping meals consistent. I saw this company on social media and decided to give it a try. I ordered online with a promo code "freeship" which was really convenient. They brought it right to my house and left it on the doorstep which is good since we are all practicing "contact-free" interactions. They have a HUGE selection online and so many options. I tried the bbq chicken and mashed potatoes-amazing. I also ordered the cauliflower chicken stir fry! I was skeptical because a few other meal prep companies I've tried, provided chicken on the dryer side, but Max Fit's was perfect. I also really really enjoyed their breakfast selections, bacon and all! But from the very beginning everyone was helpful, friendly and I love the meals. I see a huge variety of people in their stores too. I love the meal plan option. I come in almost every day now for lunch and I've lost all the weight I intended to lose thanks to the ease of picking up healthy meals. Now that I'm hitting the gym more maybe I'll finally explore their other options. Also it's worth noting that I have provided them with feedback before regarding their meals and they were always very receptive.
