    Hot garlic parmigiana chicken wings

People- Extremely kind and personable. Great people, I can't express that enough. Service- Always gets the order right, fast and efficient. Meals are never cold. Environment- Clean and organized Food- Outstanding. By far the best in Mentor. Whenever I visit from CA, I have to get my fix with Maxims. It's like having Little Italy in Mentor. I love their sauce. My go to is there cavatelli and I get the eggplant roll ups . I just got their chicken wings for the first time and didn't expect too much but they were the best chicken wings I've literally ever had even beating out actual chicken wing restaurants. They were a dry rub so I was nervous about that too but they were super flavorful, moist and the skin was crispy without being over cooked... and they were HOT(temperature) . Italian wedding soup DELICIOUS! I don't want to take away from other Italian restaurants in the area but I don't know how anyone would pass up Maxims for anything else!!! This food does not taste generic or basic. 100% homemade Italian food. Coming from an Italian! MANGIA!

Nice place to grab a quick slice during lunch. Salads and subs also look great. Few tables but a good takeout spot. Pizza was very good. Friendly and quick service.

    Customer service! Very best!

I've had takeout before- but I've never been in myself. It's really like walking into a little piece of history. Love the atmosphere- clean and neat and the smells! I picked up a selection of pizza slices (love that is available & ready!).. and an order of chicken Parmesan which was plenty for 3 meals. This girl at the front (she must be part of the family) - took great care of me - everything was AWESOME! Tip big people and EAT LOCAL!

This place is very big on good homemade healthy food but a bit lacking on the dining experience. They're much more suited for carryout but do not lack in food quality. Pretty close to authentic Italian reminds me very much of going to my Italian grandmothers house. The food is handmade and all processed in the store. You can tell nothing here is can or mass processed.

Wonderful lunch! Yummy food, Good prices, and quick delivery.

One of the best Italian sausage subs I've ever eaten. Perfect balance of cheese, onions and peppers, and the sausage phenomenal.

I too remember Maxim's from E 185th. Their sauce is great and they do pizza by the slice. One of the best!

When you first walk in you're greeted by the always welcoming sight of a deli meat cooler. The sight of big chunks of deli meats is always appetizing to me. I ordered a buffalo chicken and a Philly cheesesteak. While they aren't the fastest sandwich producers in the industry the wait is definitely worth it. The subs are basic and very visceral. They are incredibly simple yet so filling and just gut-satisfying. The buffalo chicken sub had crispy fried pieces of chicken AND slices of chicken on top. Double chicken! And they offered ranch or blue cheese with it, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WHO OFFERS BUFFALO SANDWICHES SHOULD!! Seriously... the philly was juicy and also super basic. Had no extras that you didn't need and was lacking in nothing. Just right. No other way to put it. Would I eat there again? YES would I recommend it? YES Do I wish they catered weddings? YES

I even asked if it was double meat and was told yes. Normal is just two slices of meat for an 8" sandwich. I also got their macaroni salad and it was so sweet you couldn't taste anything else. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.

We have recommended your restaurant to many people, especially praising your salad bar for its freshness, quality, and variety. We've also ordered the AYCE fish fry many times -- including nearly every Friday during Lent last year -- and it has always been crispy, well‑drained, and never greasy. This visit, however, fell far below the standards we have come to expect. From the moment we were seated, the experience was noticeably different. The hostess did not ask for drink orders, which has always been standard. Our server -- slightly heavy‑set with a long black ponytail -- appeared disengaged and gave the clear impression that she did not want to be there. We confirmed with her that the AYCE fish was $12.99 and included all‑you‑can‑eat soup and salad, exactly as we were told earlier in the day when we called. Her response was, "She always tells people that, but it's one trip." Despite the inconsistency, we proceeded and requested the fish extra crispy and well‑drained. We waited at least 30 minutes for the first round of fish, even though only two other tables were occupied and they already had their food. When the fish finally arrived, it was extremely greasy, not crispy, and the bottoms were completely soggy. When we pointed this out, the server simply said, "I told him," offering no apology, no concern, and no attempt to resolve the issue. She took the fish back to have it remade. She returned shortly after and removed our sides without explanation. The second order of fish was still dripping with grease. Grease was visibly pooled in the breading, as if it had come straight from the fryer without being drained at all. We asked another employee if she was the manager. She said no but asked what was wrong. As we began explaining, the manager, Heather, approached. At that same moment, the server stood behind me and said, "Oh, they're not happy with that either." Heather also showed no empathy, no apology, and no effort to correct the situation. Her demeanor was irritated and dismissive from the start. We told Heather to remove the fish from the bill. She agreed but insisted we still had to pay for the soup and salad. She then brought a bill for nearly $30, charging us for AYCE soup and salad even though we each had only one cup of soup and one small salad. When we questioned this, Heather became visibly annoyed and said she would instead charge us for a side salad and a cup of soup. We explained that the fish has never been like this before. Heather's response was, "Then go out to Madison, they have the same fish there." This was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. When we went to pay, we informed Heather that we were veterans. She applied the discount to only one meal. When I told her I was also a veteran, she said, "Oh, you're a veteran too? Well, I need to see ID." This was disrespectful and unnecessary, especially after she acknowledged she recognized us from previous visits. My husband was wearing a veteran jacket, yet she still demanded to see his ID as well. Heather then brought up the fish again, stating it "looked perfectly fine" to her. When I explained the amount of grease on the napkin and on my hands, she dismissed it, saying, "It's deep fried, there's going to be grease," and repeated that it looked fine. As I calmly explained that it had never been served this way before, she told me I was "getting out of control." At no point did I raise my voice -- I was simply explaining the issue. After that comment, I stepped outside while my husband finished paying. He later told me that Heather was speaking about me in front of him to another employee, again calling me "out of control," and told the server she wasn't getting a tip. It is clear that something has changed. The friendly, attentive, welcoming atmosphere that once set your restaurant apart is gone. The staff now appear disengaged, unprofessional, and uninterested in providing quality service. We no longer see any of the kind servers who made dining here enjoyable. We are extremely disappointed by how this visit was handled from start to finish. We hope management takes this feedback seriously. We have supported your restaurant since your grand opening, and we would like to feel confident returning -- but based on this experience, that is not possible unless significant improvements are made.
