Maximus Moving was one of the best moving experiences I've had in Dallas. They were super fast and polite and I did not get creepy text messages from the movers after the fact (like I have on two other occasions from companies here in DFW!) Seems like a low bar, but having a man text you without permission that also knows where you live should be standard. ANYWAY! They took care with my furniture and breakable things. They even helped to move some boxes from my garage into the house at the destination. They were so fast for a pretty big move and I don't think any other movers could've done it faster. Wow. Where do I start ? We called Maximus Moving on Monday afternoon looking for a move the next day and Joseph answered the phone. He had remembered the prior phone call we had made to him so he seemed more than willing to move our items. When we spoke to him a few weeks prior, he had told us certain travel fees that were set and said that he would honor them. Joseph spoke and said he would honor the rate we had written about. Well that changed at the end of the move. More later. He came 90 minutes late the next day. He assessed the situation and started to wrap, and load the furniture. During the process of wrapping the furniture and loading it onto his truck, he complained that it's Texas law that he can't work more than eight hours! We had only been five hours in at that point. Jospeh complained throughout the move, said that he was told everything was "packed." When we spoke to him on Monday we told him most everything was packed. However, being a moving company and knowing we were in the process of moving he did not bring any tape or boxes. When we asked he blamed us for telling him we did not tell him to bring boxes and tape. It clearly showed this was not a reputable moving company at all. It was run by 2 men who probably wait by the phone for a customer to call. He did not have any moving supplies on his truck. Maximus Moving was A COMPLETE JOKE. Maximus Moving claims to have five star reviews -- are you serious? The way Jospeh ran the business was completely unprofessional on every level. Next at 2 p.m. Jospeh told us that he wanted to go home and complained so much that he went directly into his truck and sat there! What? He told us it was against TEXAS law to work over 8 hours... well it only had been 4.5 hrs, he said he wanted to come back the next day. How is this possible after Maximus Moving loaded all of our furniture and items onto the truck and now wants to leave? He argued tried to be slimy and we ended up trying our best to tell him the next day would not work. We asked him why he did not communicate this earlier or even the day before? Who in the their right mind would let a mover leave with their furniture and boxes? We are supposed to trust him after he threw a fit he started to hurry along leaving a lot of our items behind, unwrapped and threw things into the truck. This was such a disappointment because we still had to get to our next destination. Completely unprofessional. He did not abide by what he said he would do, which is load and unload the same day. Joseph at Maximus Moving was the worst to deal with. He blamed everything on us. Entire move was a MESS. After he and his friend got along the way we both stopped at the gas station. He came to our car and said very rudely " you can stop following me and go on your own way." He speaks like he is on drugs and acts bizarre. When they got to the final destination he started to unload and had boxes that were wet and dripping with liquid that he continue to move regardless. His behavior was of someone who did not care. The concern he had was 0%. He was unhappy the entire time. When the entire move was completed he asked for his money. We paid him in cash and gave him an extra $200. Jospeh started to argue with us about the travel fee. Something he said he would honor when we told him he had mentioned it was $400 a few weeks ago. Immediately he starts to get upset , grabbing a calculator he says it was $645.00 Completely did not honor his word. He got paid and left. The next day he started to text us asking for an additional $154.13 for a box and 7 wraps he left with us. When we didn't respond he started to text us personal information and details he obtained and started to threaten us for $154.13. Told us he was getting an attorney for $154.13 when he was PAID $1900 CASH with additional $200!!! Wow. This guy started to go after us with personal info he thought would scare us. We paid him in full and told him he damaged almost $600 worth of stuff. Not to mention all the stuff he brought unwrapped, wet boxes and boxes he did not packaged properly. Joe aka Joseph with Maximus Moving is the worst moving company. Do not use them. Highly AVOID! Beware of the scammer tactics they use! Wow! What a great experience using Maximum Moving! They responded quickly to my inquiry, gave a super competitive estimate (especially moving from Dallas to Fort Worth where other estimates were 2-3x the price), and were professional. They arrived at my apartment in Dallas at 10am, and by the time I returned from walking my dog 30min later, they had just about everything wrapped and carefully loaded into the truck ready to go. Upon arriving in Fort Worth, they had everything unloaded in 30min, set up my bed, moved some furniture for me AND got a couple of things out of my vehicle for me on their way out the door. This is the second time I've used Maximus Moving in the past year and I can't say enough good things about them. They are very friendly guys, clean, arrive on time, move everything so quickly, and take good care of all the furniture, and I have lot of delicate things. They break down anything you need and rebuild it back on site. Joseph is always responsive and takes calls throughout the day. I recommended them to a friend who was able to use them as well and she said it was a great experience. I recently used Maximus for my move from North Dallas to Fort Worth. Words can't express how impressed I am with this company. 1. Patient: I found Maximus on Yelp & reached out for a quote based on the positive reviews. Joseph quickly responded & answered ALL of my many questions! He was very knowledgeable & I felt confident in using them after our phone call. 2. Rates are extremely fair: Maximus charges an hourly rate based on the time it takes to get the work done (2.5 hour minimum) + a travel fee. You do not have to commit to the time you think it will take ahead of time then get charged a surcharged rate if you go over. Unfortunately, I have had this bad experience with movers in the past. 3. Professional: Joseph confirmed my initial reservation twice via email ahead of time & called when they were on their way. They were on time for the time window I was given. I was also spoiled enough to have the business owners themselves complete the job! 4. Super fast & helpful: It took a 2 man team only 4.25 hours to complete my move from Addison to Watauga area. This is including the 37 mile drive over! I felt comfortable with how quick they were moving so I even had them disconnect/reconnect the washer & dryer, assemble the bed and put boxes/furniture in the preferred places. I am just floored on how fast it was. Past movers had me fooled on how long it should actually take. 5. Your things are in good hands: I did not feel like I had to watch the movers like a hawk for them to take care of my things. I noticed both Alex & Joseph handled my things with care, wrapped items with attention & strategically packed the truck. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the great service Maximus provides. We were planning a move and started to do our research. I reached out on Yelp and received an immediate response from Joseph. Exchanged details and set the date. I received a email confirmation later on. I followed up the day before and we were all set. On the day of the move Alex and friend (didn't get his name, super nice guy though) called to let us know they were on their way. Once they arrived and got the layout they were non stop moving but still friendly and answered any questions or concerns that we had. They disassembled and reassembled some of our items as well.
