I brought my vehicle to Maxon Buick GMC in Union expecting professional diagnostics and reliable service. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. My vehicle has been at the dealership for approximately three and a half weeks, and the original issue has still not been resolved. I am currently being charged for a repair that was later determined not to be the root cause of the problem, as the issue continued even after the part was replaced. After leaving the dealership with the same unresolved issue, I immediately returned the vehicle. At that time, I was informed that the wiring and connector needed to be replaced and that this was the actual cause of the problem. I was told I would need to wait several business days for the part to arrive. I am now waiting yet another week and still do not have my vehicle. Due to the initial misdiagnosis, I am now facing additional charges related to the newly identified issue. The prolonged delays and inaccurate diagnosis have caused significant financial and personal hardship, including transportation costs and challenges getting to work. While the service advisor and technician have been polite and professional, the lack of inaccurate diagnosis and extended delays have made this experience extremely stressful. I am also a caregiver for my elderly mother, who is a veteran, and my handicapped uncle, both of whom require frequent medical appointments. Not having my vehicle for this length of time has made it very difficult to meet these responsibilities. I chose this dealership because it is an authorized Buick service center, but this experience has been costly, frustrating, and unresolved. I am sharing this experience so customers understand the service issues I encountered, using the exact wording provided to me by the advisor. I had already posted a review earlier. The dealership publicly replied asking me to "please call us," but when I called multiple times, no one answered. The response appeared to be for show, as they did not follow up privately. A rental car was only offered after that review was posted, despite earlier telling me they were "eight weeks out" and not mentioning any rental option before then. On October 13, I dropped off my Buick Verano due to a brake pedal going to the floor after installing a brand-new OEM AC Delco master cylinder. The advisor first told me the vehicle had: "NO PRESSURE, EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, REPLACED ABS MODULE AT OUTSIDE FACILITY." When I explained the master cylinder was new and properly bled, he stated it needed to be "recalibrated or reprogrammed as per code present." The next day, the explanation shifted. I was told: "our diagnostic machines are not communicating to that module being that it is not an OEM (original part)." They then recommended ordering an OEM module for $1,388.42, and when I asked which module, I was told it was the "Parking brake control module." This made no sense for a hydraulic brake issue, but the advisor responded that "when you replace the parking brake control module part of the recalibration is setting/adjusting the brake pressure." Between October 15-17, the explanations continued to change. I was told: "Tech is working on the bleeding for pedal sponginess," and later, "doesn't seem like it will be ready... he has been on it all day." Then another new issue appeared: "the parking brake cables are stretched." On October 20, the foreman reportedly said the "master cylinder is not building enough pressure," even though it was brand new with proof of purchase. Over the following days, I was told about shipment delays, additional part issues, technicians being off, and "still waiting on GM TAC." None of the promised update times were met. Despite all the messages and all the shifting explanations -- including "module being not original," "reprogramming not communicating," "parking brake control module," "stretched cables," and "master cylinder not building pressure" -- the brake pedal remained in the exact same condition as the day the vehicle was dropped off. I was without my car for weeks, paid for transportation, and had to repeatedly request updates. My concern was straightforward: a brake pedal going to the floor. Instead of a clear diagnosis, I received inconsistent statements and constant delays. For anyone considering service here, especially for brake or safety issues, I recommend documenting everything and seeking a second opinion. Our GMC Terrain was in for service and I had a little issue with the service department. We are a customer of Maxxon GMC for many years and have purchased and leased many vehicles for our family through my employer and personally. After reading the reviews and some had issues, the business owner kept responding to others saying to contact Pam. Well I did and she answered the phone and solved the issue within 10 minutes. Pam was professional, courteous and extremely nice. I can't say enough good things about Pam. Thank you very much Pam! In addition, Chris the Service Manager contacted me minutes after I talked with Pam and told me he would get into my issue immediately which he did. This is for service who kept my truck for 5 weeks and didn't fit the issue. The second I drove out I could hear the front end clicking and the clunking in reverse. You're a lier sir service was never complete. Never mind the steering issue on its forth visit still not fixed!! They also chipped the paint on the frame of my door. Didn't fix that either. Major management changes and multiple employees no longer there, speaks volumes. Go somewhere else they are a hot mess.The one good person Bino is no longer there, the only one I trusted. Posted originally 7/10/2024 I requested service for a problem shorting out several systems in my 2020 GM Sierra 1500. I even gave the service department the GM bulletin I found regarding my problem. I'm disappointed that I was dismissed and instead of checking the least costly problems first the service mechanic decided to swap out expensive parts. After this parts change did not solve the problem the Maxon service technician then found the shorted wires from the service bulletin ( I remind you that I provided to begin with). I was disappointed to have to spend about $700 to $800 extra. As explained to me by the customer service agent Anthony "He trusts his technician more than me!" But as I pointed out I was more correct than his service technician and again stated I was disappointed that they were more worried about sales than proper repairs. My husband and I had a very positive experience here working with both George and Terry. We came in yesterday looking to trade-in my husbands GMC Sierra 2500HD, as our circumstances have changed and we no longer had a need for a pickup. The current demand for them put us in a favorable position to sell. Our transaction was seamless start to finish, we were able to satisfy our loan balance with enough money left to put down on a like-new Hyundai Sonata. With the mileage we drive and rising gas prices we knew we wanted something more economical, George listened to our concerns and helped us find something to suit our needs. My husband met with Terry today, who upon arrival, had all the necessary paperwork ready to be signed. Our new Sonata had already been washed, detailed, interior shampooed, oil changed and gas topped off. He was in and out in about 30 mins tops. I purchased my vehicle and immediately when I went to take delivery the air conditioning controller did not work. The dealer set up a time for me to come back and replace the unit very disappointing on a brand new $90,000 truck however I cannot blame the dealer. In the meantime, I realize that all of the accessories that were to be Installed by the dealer were not installed so I set up a time for those to be installed as well. On the day of my appointment I went in first thing in the morning for what should've been a 2 to 3 hour job. I did not leave the dealership until 6 o'clock at closing time. I was also told by the dealer that some of the factory accessories were impossible to be installed, which I literally did myself in about five minutes. I also made the dealership aware of the fact that one of the seat retaining clips was loose, and I had fixed it myself multiple times and was clearly in need of a replacement part. They assured me it was fixed, but much to my dismay. It popped off again about 10 minutes later as they had just done the same repair of clipping it back on that I had multiple times.I would not get service done at a dealership that is incapable of installing a factory accessory because it proves incompetence if they can't install a light, I definitely would not entrust them with my vehicle for a major repair. Additionally, they screwed me over as at the time of my trade-in. They did not report to DMV and therefore caused a lapse in insurance coverage on my trade-in vehicle resulting in me paying a $200 fine in order to get my registration which was transferred to my new vehicle reinstated (I'll patiently wait for a check in the mail to make up for that.) My sales person was absolutely wonderful and I would recommend him! Update: The dealership did reach out to me and took full accountability for all of the Mistakes that were made and did promise to repair any remaining issues with the vehicle as well as reimburse the DMV charges everybody makes mistakes and a business that can own up to them and fix them in a satisfactory matter in my opinion is the best business of them all read more

If you're reading this review is because no one at Maxon have made an effort to contact me, other than a email asking me to rate my experience, this is my experience with Maxon I came to your service with my 2022 Yukon 3 times for mostly the same issues. None were resolved other than the latch for the rear window. The LKA is not operating properly and most of the time doesn't work at all. The lines on the rear-view camera screen don't come on when shifted into reverse. After bringing my vehicle twice to you and a total of combined 18 days in your shop your technicians could not replicate the symptoms on my vehicle, I asked to ride with someone to show exactly what was going on. I took a ride with the shop foreman and miraculously in about five minutes I was able to show him the issues with the system. I scheduled a third visit to Maxon to take care of the problems and other than replacing the latch nothing else was done, they told me again that the vehicle is operating as designed. I rented vehicles to commute to work while Maxon fixed mine, one of them, a GMC Acadia with the same operating LKA as my Yukon and both the lines on the backup camera and the LKA worked perfectly on the rental, they don't work on my Yukon and now GM Warranty is trying to help me with going to a different dealership and start the proses again. Also, the people that work for Maxon at the service desks are very stressed out and one of your guys there is short tempered and plain all rude. GM Warranty was told that my Yukon has no issues, and my warranty is about to run out, what happens next, we'll live and see. If they give me an appointment to test ride my vehicle with a technician for 1PM, and at 2:15PM I'm still waiting, the least I will expect is to be schooled about my lack patience, and in a condescending and humiliating way, in front of other customers, that were also sharing with me their negative experience. That's not good for business and definitely very unpleasant for said customer (ME!), waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes, not a simple apology, as if my time is not valuable, I spent about $400.00 in car rentals and all I've got from Maxon is what I just described, I think your dealership has a problem, and now I have a problem with your dealership, I'll be voicing my concerns publicly soon Thank you for giving me the chance to voice my frustration. Then, during negotiations, Omar Griffin took a purchase quote, drew a line with his pen, and asked us to sign our names to this "commitment" while telling us the dealership, itself, may not be able to do said price. Update: well after my last review, I prob ruffled a few feathers, so received a call from Don (top guy) was very polite & down to earth, I explained in great detail why review was left, Don was a straight shooter with me & explained in great detail how they operate, and answered all questions, which I was totally satisfied & understood, at least he spoke to me like a human being & not just a customer!!!! So everything was hashed out, unfortunately I still had to pay enormous bill ... But I recommend if you have ANY issues with this dealership on the service side, ask to speak with Don, I'm sure he'll try his best to make it right!!! I'm sure I'm gonna bump heads again with this dealership over pricing or extra over the top service techs , but I feel Don and/or Santiago professionalism that they showed me, will at least ease if not correct any issue that arise ... read more

I brought my truck in because it was making noises I've never heard before and the gentleman that was helping me did not seem like he wanted to be bothered from the start. Communication was poor, I had to ask lots of questions and almost walk him through the process of assisting a customer. When I had to many questions you can tell he got annoyed and started repeating the same vague response over. I was told I may have to leave my truck over night to be diagnosed and in a hour I was told my truck was fine and nothing was wrong. The air filters were never changed like they were supposed to, and apparently they took my truck on a "test drive" to recreate the issue I was speaking of however when the truck was returned to me I noticed the mileage never changed on the odometer. I would avoid this dealership if possible. I would question simple services even like a oil change based on my experience. read more

This place is horrible I leased my 2023 sierra without leather and they told me they would get it installed for me so took it in and after 3 days picked up truck and my middle seat had seat belt clip indentation and the center console was making cracking sound so I call them and they called me back after a week took it back 2 more days go pick it up nothing was touched so I go see Felix sales manager and he's apologizing he's gonna get it fixed took it back they get the leather fixed but now my center console is cheaper then what I had no phone chargers my kid tried plugin in his phone and realized there were no chargers anymore I'm super mad about this and I'm gonna go to the end with it it's a new vehicle WHy we putting cheaper parts back will not recommend anyone to them read more

I DO NOT FEEL SAFE in the vehicle I bought from Maxon Buick GMC. Not all lemons allow for lemonade. I'm a young woman who was excited about purchasing her first car. Unfortunately with Maxon, I experienced what people warned about with car dealerships and service centers. Once you drive off the lot, the smiles fade, the pleasantries cease and the customer service is nonexistent. I purchased a used 2015 Jeep Compass from Maxon Buick GMC, at the end of July 2018. Almost immediately I began to experience issues and more issues; through no fault of my own. From my experience, I do not believe used vehicles are properly prepared prior to being put on Maxon's lot for sale. My radio needed to be replaced in the beginning of Sept '18, because key features did not work. Following that, I took my Jeep for service for severe vibrating twice(Oct '18 and Dec '18). Unfortunately my Jeep is still not fixed. The vibrating has become progressively worse and is unnerving and startling. After speaking to the service manager, he suggested had I bought a Buick or a GMC they would have been able fix my vehicle. Since that was not the case, he suggested I take my jeep to a dealer who specializes in fixing jeeps. Unfortunately that would cause me to incur additional expenses. I spoke about the issue to the original salesman. He then tried to scam me into purchasing a brand new $32,000, vehicle. He said he needed to bury money in rebates if he took my current vehicle back. I told him I want my car fixed. He got frustrated and pushed me off to a sales manager who also tried to convince me purchasing a new vehicle was best. I spoke with the general sales manager about the issues I'd experienced, believing I would receive help and resolve. He then tried to shame me for purchasing a used vehicle and putting miles on the vehicle. He went on to ask me what I expected after purchasing a used car with 44,000 miles on it. I have referred friends, one of which bought a brand new car. She too had a devastating experience. Needless to say, I told my other friends to stay away from Maxon. Their employees do not represent the Maxon brand well. read more

I brought my car back 3 times and before bringing it in for the fourth time I called to speak to a manager who days later has not called me back. Would give zero if I could. Service dept offers no customer service. The phone appointment people are not on site and do not even know the service dept staff and today was told they are outside contractors. I made an appointment 11 days ago for a recall to be done and was told the part would be ordered and ready and that's why it was suggested 7-10 days from that day. Due to snow, I even moved the appointment. I get there today, they had never ordered because "we need to inspect the vehicle first to see what it needs". I said that I knew what it needs as I read the recall notice WIth the VIN to the appt advisor" and that's when the blame game began. "Oh they can't order parts..." Etc etc. Meanwhile I was stuck in the snow in their parking lot prior to my appointment time between the service area and showroom and no one came to help AFTER I CALLED TWICE!!! The appointment person texted the service dept to help me and nobody did.( At this point I did not know about them being outside contractors not even on site.) My wheels are spinning in their insufficiently plowed lot , and no one is in the showroom because it's too early, and I'm too far from service area!! So I waited for close to 45 minutes and no one came to help me!!. I tried to maneuver the car forward and back many many more times to FINALLY free my car. When I got to the service bay they didn't even know about my call about being stuck or being late for the 8:15 appt time!! Neither did the men in service dept "they say". So now that I wasted 12 days and my morning and have to come back when they get the part in, ( probably in more than 12 days at this point now) I ask for my multi point inspection report and was told they didnt print it. WHAT???!!! the report is for the customer isnt it???? Why wouldnt they print it???!!! I was told they'll mail it to me. You've got to be kidding me. I AM STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. "It's my son's car, I'd like to see what it needs and if it's safe to drive please. It's bad enough he's driving with an unsafe airbag thanks to Takata, let me see the multi point inspection report please. I'm happy to wait" The place is empty. there is no one waiting there but me now. There is no one at the service bays or in the service advisor's area. I was not keeping him from anyone. He begrudgingly agreed. UNBELIEVABLE!! After this recall. I will choose another GM dealership. Never again here. read more

I dealt with the Maxon Buick GMC service center. I was mislead, lied to and utterly taken advantage of to the tune of $1,700 for the mere replacing of the headlight assembly. Upon paying the outrageously high bill I requested to get back my old headlight assembly in order to retrieve the xenon bulb ,which is expensive and good to have as a spare. Mr. Fonseca of the service department informed me that it was now GM property and would be sent back to the plant, which I knew quickly made no sense at all. After making things more uncomfortable and forcing me to demand back MY property he quickly shuffled to the back and retrieved the light. It was unfortunate, unsettling and overall ultra lousy to experience. Steer clear of this service center. read more

I like this place and recently purchased a car from them. I was greeted by Raoul (and probably drove him crazy), but he was very nice, calm, and knew his stuff! He answered every one of my hundreds of questions, was always available and gave me a lot of information. I thought even if I didn't buy a car here, I would definitely leave a positive review based on my experience with Raoul. I did buy a car from them and I love my new Buick. I also dealt with Felix, a very personable and overall nice guy. He explained credit information to me. He only ran my credit check once - no need to run it more than that as it is excellent and he didn't want to show on my credit report that multiple runs were made - that would not bode well for me. The many trips I made there, I was always greeted by someone and lucky for me Felix or Raoul was always available. I also met with Terry at the home stretch point. Another nice guy. Took the time to answer my badgering questions and left me with a good impression of him. I did a "test" call to the service center and same experience- phone was answered, and helpful friendly representative. Raoul spent a lot of time explaining my new car to me and overall I'm happy with the experience and my beautiful car. Good people work here. read more

MY experience was with the service department. The first time I go there they dont fix my tire problem I have to come back for that again its probably the sensor they say it will just take a few minutes, after 2 hours I get up and ask what the problem is they forgot I was waiting I see them drive my car in the shop and now they tell me I have a screw in my sidewall and it cant be fixed I need a new tire. and they are ordering it,and I will have to come back again. I dont ever want to go back to them again so I go to Cleveland Tire in Elizabeth where they take off the tire in front of me and show me no screw and nothing wrong with the tire and to put my mind at ease they take off all the rest of the tires and no screw in any of them. So Maxon lied to me and was going to rip me off for the price of a new tire. read more

Very happy with my GMC and the sales team is great. The problem is their service department. If you go there for routine service on your vehicle they are terrible at informing customers when your vehicle is ready. You will end up sitting there hours wondering what the hell is going on unless you walk out of the waiting room to only discover your keys sitting on the receptionist's desk. I chose to do business with this location because it was close to home. When I called to make the appointment, I gave a list of things I needed repaired only to get there on my appointment day and be told that I should have come in earlier because my car needed a lot of work (RED FLAG #1). At the suggestion of the sales rep, I came back the following evening and dropped my car off so that it could be looked at first thing the next morning. No one called me that next day, I called them back around 2pm to find out that my car had not been touched all day (RED FLAG #2). The sales rep told me in a roundabout way that the technician looked at the car and saw how much needed to be done and put it aside (RED FLAG #3). When I told the sales rep to forget it all and that I would come get my car ...they found some time to work on it! So, a week and $1299.86 later, I drive my car off the lot, and it shakes all the way home. I call back and let them know that it is now shaking AND leaking. I bring the car back in for service (AT MY CONVENIENCE because this location does not have loaners and I needed to borrow a car in preparation for being without my car for another week). After day 3 they tell me that they cannot locate the reason for the shake and that the leak COULD be the engine, but they are not sure and need to keep it and drive it a few more days and run dye through the engine etc. I pick my car up 2 days later and pay another $500 for this 2nd round of repairs only to jump in my car and be greeted by a TIRE SERVICE light...that nobody noticed but me! So, this repair would be an extra $150. The tech "didn't see it" when he did the tire inspection the week of 4/4/22 or when he did the tire rotation the week of 5/5/22. I will not be returning to this location for any service or new car purchases. read more

The process of buying my car back in May 2020 was great until I realized weeks later that I had put in to transfer my plates and they mistakenly put in to register my vehicle for new plates. A couple of weeks later they mailed me more "temporary" Plates with a note that I was still waiting for my custom plates which was extremely confusing. I only realized the mistake after the DMV contacted me saying they were going to suspend my license. After multiple attempts of trying to figure out what was wrong (calling the dmv, my insurance company and the dealership multiple times) the dealership informed me of the mistake and told me I was going to be refunded the difference. That was in August 2020. It is now November and I have called multiple times informing them that I never received the difference only to be put on hold and put to a voicemail.
