I would just like to take the time to reiterate my review of Open Road Chevrolet in Union, NJ from March and particularly of JORGE V who was my salesman. Please don't be fooled by what seems to be caring about you as a human being and him trying to get you the best deal! That is truly not the case. He just want to sell a car at all costs! After all, no sale, no money for him!!! He will keep you there for hours and play the usual back and forth game with figures and then lead you to believe you are getting the deal that he and the finance person agreed on, the one we ALL agreed on, that was written down, and repeated a few times. However, that was not the case. I did not get the deal we all agreed on and was not even of it aware until a couple of weeks later when I got my credit card bill!!! Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY with a credit card, whether it is yours or the one they recommend you get from GM Credit. He will make you believe that you are paying the amount you negotiated and then change it to a MUCH HIGHER AMOUNT after you have signed all of the paperwork. I had a prior Chevy GM lease that was over miles with dents so I didn't have much room to negotiate. I'm not sure if I got a "good deal" or not - which is how I always feel at a dealership. Darius was my first contact and he was very responsive. Waldy was my sales rep and he was very friendly and helpful. I went after work so I don't know if that is the reason I had to wait around SOOOOO long for the "numbers" to come in. I informed the manager, Steve, that I was disappointed with the sunroof installation on my vehicle. I explained how excited we were to see the finished result, but he laughed in my face. They ruined my car. I will never purchase a vehicle from this establishment again. I was promised a panoramic sunroof, which I learned later that it's something impossible for them to do, but this is what I received instead for $1,500. Well, this dealership's service department has changed since the transition from Multi Chevrolet to Open Road, and not for the better. I had been a customer of Multi for over 20 years. I continued with Open Road. Brought 2 different cars there since the transition to Open Road. First time there they lost my car after I paid and was waiting for it to be driven up to me (seriously). I brought my car in again after having a vehicle check and oil change at Open Road. After bringing it home, the battery was dead (this NEVER happened before). I jump start it, run it a while and turn it off. Car is dead again when I try to restart to o to work. I bring it back to Open Road. Now, I was told that there is a "$179 Diagnostic Fee" anytime a vehicle is brought in for a problem. They first quote me a price for $230 for the battery and installation. Later the price goes to $375. I call other repair shops for a quote for the same car and battery. All quote prices from $175-$190. I meet with "Chris" (Asst Mgr) in Service. After waiting 45 minutes, he says that they took %10 off the price. New price is $338. Still feel like I was overcharged. I'm still not happy. Never going back there again. read more

The day of our appointment, he reached out to confirm and said he wanted to greet us on arrival. When we got there he hooked us up with Jackie to get us started on our journey. Jackie was amazing. When asked for an exact price they didn't want to commit to a number, always answered a question with another question. I took it to another repair shop and they told me that my catalytic converter wasn't the issue it was simply missing the gasket piece to connect the catalytic converter which is only a $200-300 job. We had an appointment with Wadley Cornelle and when we showed up he was out to lunch. We waited around over half an hour before another salesman showed us the new Tahoe we were interested in. When Wadley finally showed up, over an hour later, we made the deal and arranged to come back the next day to pick the car up. We get there to pick up the car and he says it's out getting detailed. Why wasn't this done before our appointment? Then we waited a few hours to sign the paperwork and it was a cash deal so that was also absurd. No one showed us any features of the car. The next day they called and said we needed to bring the car back immediately because GM flagged it that it could not be sold due to an open recall. They would not tell us is what the recall was and when I refused to go back and said I would go to another dealer they became hostile. Horrible Service! I brought my vehicle to be looked at because it was cutting off and not starting (at open road chevy) after having my transmission replaced by open road chevy a few weeks before. This 2014 Certified Chevy with 41thousand miles was brought a few months earlier mind you. This was the 2nd transmission issue previously done by chevy and now who knows what going on? My issue is that after bringing it in to be looked at I was told it was due for regular maintenance and so I agreed. After leaving the shop I realized that if the car had a transmission issue or something else that shouldn't be wrong. Therefore I wasn't going to keep it so I called back only to be told that they had serviced it and not checked what was wrong??? Went to the dealer on 07/12/23 looking for a car since my lease with Chevy was ending. Spoke with a sales representative and he gave us a deal and told us that a deposit of $500.00 was needed in order for them to look for a car. So I gave the deposit. 2 weeks went by and no word from the dealer about the car so I went some other dealer and they were able to get me a car from one day to the other and also for a lower price. Called Open Road and told them that I no longer needed the car since they took to long I had to shop around and got it in a different dealer. Also asked them to refund my credit card for the $500.00 and was told the refund would been process by friday. Many fridays came along and I kept calling the Open Road for the refund and was given the run around. This past wednesday I went to Open Road and Jimmy a manager told me that he would call me the following day which it never happend. I rented a car just to drive out and see it the following Saturday, with 100% intentions to purchase. Upon arriving they tell me "we just took a deposit on that vehicle no more than 45 min ago!" This is the first and last time I will buy a car from this dealership. I bought a used Pontiac Solistice. The sales manager was an absolute arrogant fool. I had to go to the general manager for help. The sales manager was not transparent with all fees. He was very unfriendly to me as a customer. I waited 4 hours for my paper work to be completed. Then next day went to pick up car because they had to fix check engine light. Told to bring in car at 8 AM, ONE WEEK LATER. I was there at 7. Shop opens at 8. I am thinking I am going to have car in by say even 9, 10 AM. Forget it. I left dealership at 2 PM. BTW, I need to go back . Check engine light still on two day's after they said it was repaired.
