I had a prior Chevy GM lease that was over miles with dents so I didn't have much room to negotiate. I'm not sure if I got a "good deal" or not - which is how I always feel at a dealership. I went after work so I don't know if that is the reason I had to wait around SOOOOO long for the "numbers" to come in. I would just like to take the time to reiterate my review of Open Road Chevrolet in Union, NJ from March and particularly of JORGE V who was my salesman. Please don't be fooled by what seems to be caring about you as a human being and him trying to get you the best deal! That is truly not the case. He just want to sell a car at all costs! After all, no sale, no money for him!!! He will keep you there for hours and play the usual back and forth game with figures and then lead you to believe you are getting the deal that he and the finance person agreed on, the one we ALL agreed on, that was written down, and repeated a few times. However, that was not the case. I did not get the deal we all agreed on and was not even of it aware until a couple of weeks later when I got my credit card bill!!! Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY with a credit card, whether it is yours or the one they recommend you get from GM Credit. He will make you believe that you are paying the amount you negotiated and then change it to a MUCH HIGHER AMOUNT after you have signed all of the paperwork. I was promised a panoramic sunroof, which I learned later that it's something impossible for them to do, but this is what I received instead for $1,500. Well, this dealership's service department has changed since the transition from Multi Chevrolet to Open Road, and not for the better. I had been a customer of Multi for over 20 years. I continued with Open Road. Brought 2 different cars there since the transition to Open Road. First time there they lost my car after I paid and was waiting for it to be driven up to me (seriously). I brought my car in again after having a vehicle check and oil change at Open Road. After bringing it home, the battery was dead (this NEVER happened before). I jump start it, run it a while and turn it off. Car is dead again when I try to restart to o to work. I bring it back to Open Road. Now, I was told that there is a "$179 Diagnostic Fee" anytime a vehicle is brought in for a problem. They first quote me a price for $230 for the battery and installation. Later the price goes to $375. I call other repair shops for a quote for the same car and battery. All quote prices from $175-$190. I meet with "Chris" (Asst Mgr) in Service. After waiting 45 minutes, he says that they took %10 off the price. New price is $338. Still feel like I was overcharged. I'm still not happy. Never going back there again. read more

I drove 2 hours to look at 2 volts in the vicinity. One was at Open Road Chevrolet it was a 2019, with 25k miles for $23,488 now I been texting them back and forth the past couple weeks. I made an appointment and took off work for Monday (03-20-22) and drove up there. First weird thing was the guy said it was 29k because that's what the sticker said. I told him the guy I've been texting said it was $23,488 and on CarGurus it said it was $23,488 but THEIR website it said 25k. So already things were fishy. They said they would honor the $23,488 price but after all the fees it came out to be 28k ( I'm not sure what a dealer prep fee is why it was $988 but ok) But here's where it gets good they wouldn't come down on price so I said ok I'm gonna check out this other volt that was a 2018 premier and be back. Turns out that dealership listed it wrong and it was just a LT so I go back to open road Chevrolet and finally just wanna get this over with. So I hand him my police and fire credit union check. All is well and we're about to do the paper work. All the sudden the guy comes back and says I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we can no longer sell this car... IM LIKE WHAT!?? That doesn't make any sense I left for a half hour and said I was coming back and he's like yeah we didn't realize. Then the fathead manager with glasses behind the desk said you left so I sold it to our sister BMW company for 28k I'm like wtf that is just bad business you just sell the car right out from under me after I been ready to buy it and came back like I said I would. He said well you should have put a deposit on it with a smerk on his face and walked away. Mind you this car was sitting at this dealership for over 120 days but all the sudden it took for me, to come in and want it and leave for a half hour for him to sell it. We had an appointment with Wadley Cornelle and when we showed up he was out to lunch. We waited around over half an hour before another salesman showed us the new Tahoe we were interested in. When Wadley finally showed up, over an hour later, we made the deal and arranged to come back the next day to pick the car up. We get there to pick up the car and he says it's out getting detailed. Why wasn't this done before our appointment? Then we waited a few hours to sign the paperwork and it was a cash deal so that was also absurd. No one showed us any features of the car. The next day they called and said we needed to bring the car back immediately because GM flagged it that it could not be sold due to an open recall. They would not tell us is what the recall was and when I refused to go back and said I would go to another dealer they became hostile. Horrible Service! I brought my vehicle to be looked at because it was cutting off and not starting (at open road chevy) after having my transmission replaced by open road chevy a few weeks before. This 2014 Certified Chevy with 41thousand miles was brought a few months earlier mind you. This was the 2nd transmission issue previously done by chevy and now who knows what going on? My issue is that after bringing it in to be looked at I was told it was due for regular maintenance and so I agreed. After leaving the shop I realized that if the car had a transmission issue or something else that shouldn't be wrong. Spoke with a sales representative and he gave us a deal and told us that a deposit of $500.00 was needed in order for them to look for a car. So I gave the deposit. 2 weeks went by and no word from the dealer about the car so I went some other dealer and they were able to get me a car from one day to the other and also for a lower price. I rented a car just to drive out and see it the following Saturday, with 100% intentions to purchase. Upon arriving they tell me "we just took a deposit on that vehicle no more than 45 min ago!" I quickly caught on and realized that they were trying to bully me into paying far more than market value for the vehicle, by telling me there was already a buyer in place for the vehicle. Absolutely awful experience. Took my 3 year old Traverse in for service that I just bought off lease and had a warranty for. They took FOUR days to diagnose and were terrible with their responsiveness - I called every day several times and when I finally threatened to call Chevy directly, they conveniently called back and said they had just finished diagnosing it. They tried billing above the allotted warranty coverage of $150 per hour for labor and said it was $205 per hour. I called several other Chevy dealerships in the area who all said that it was highway robbery to charge that much. They didn't bother to simply balance bill me the remaining difference for labor and wanted to charge me the full amount when I asked them to do that. And they didn't have the decency to even waive the diagnostic cost when I went to pick up the car after I was rightfully angry and decided to take my business elsewhere. They get a ZERO from me - I only put a one star because you can't rate someone a zero on here. Never again! read more

I purchased a certified used car, (my First mistake) from Open Road Chevy in Union on US rt 22. The warranty was for approximately 15,000 miles. I got the car in November. This is a GMC Terrain. The radio stopped working about a month ago. I had them look at it during a service on the transmission. They said to check the radio it would take about 2 days. I could not leave it at that time, I did, however leave it on July 14th 2022 at about 2:30 pm. I got the call that the radio would cost me $1400 to repair. The service agent (Jason) told me before that the radio warranty is only 3 years or 36, 000 miles. Why would the radio warranty be different from the car? Do they know there are always problems? They have no loaner cars, (COVID I'm sure) Service department needs to be looked at on how they do business, just try to call them. This Terrain only has 53,000 miles on it, when I was growing up GMC meant something. What happen? This may be why people are buying imports. American made is not what it used to be, sad.
