Ask the Community - MaxRelax Spa

Has anyone gotten their eyelashes done here? How was it & how long did the fake lashes stay on? Thanks.

I had a facial with Monica and it was the best. I believe she does eyelashes as well. I would suggest calling her directly because I know she is the owner and manager.

I notice there are two massage tables in the room. For the full body massage, is there a chance you'll be sharing the room with a stranger?

Two table rooms, which are for families or friends, and are required to be in the same room. You also have choices of single table rooms.

Came here for the second time this weekend, got the scrub and gold massage for $210, which comes…read morewith access to the whole facility (usually $40 without a service). We booked reservations ahead of time. This is an ASIAN spa, which means clothing is not present on the gender specific sides (they give you a pink or brown cotton shorts and t shirt uniform to wear in the common area). My favorite thing is to bring a book and read in the common area after my treatment , and also eat lunch at the Korean restaurant. Highly recommend doing this as at least a 4 hour excursion, you can stay up to 6 hours (which we did ). I like that the services are also pretty comprehensive if you do the most expensive one (face mask, hair wrap, full body etc ) Pros: - the actual spa service itself is quite luxurious - I had Sumi and she did a fantastic job scrubbing off all my dead skin, I feel super exfoliated and very soft afterwards. I was so relaxed during my gold wrap that I fell asleep LOL. And the Asian style massage was great, especially on the back and shoulders. - the sheer variety of amenities outside of the appointment are great too - I recommend coming at least an hour earlier than your appointment so you can take advantage of the hot tubs, wet sauna, and fire and forest rooms that make you sweat - co-ed with separate gender sides for the actual spa, and then a joint common area where you wear your uniforms and are clothed. Great for couples if you want to try something new together ! - the Korean restaurant inside the spa is actually so good - solid Korean style street food and the bingsoo is so good (medium is easily shareable between 2-3 people) - easy to use locker keys - lovely common area with heated floors, TVs playing the World Cup, and some massage chairs - I do really love the ice room in the common area Cons: - I'm soooo glad we came on the earlier side around 9am on a Saturday because it got VERY busy later in the day after 12noon. Honestly some people were very loud and disrespectful in the common area where talking isn't supposed to be allowed - straight up talking on the phone or having full conversations. Not a fan if you're trying to relax and have peace - I almost wish I brought loop ear plugs. Probably more a complaint about the clientele than the actual service - because it's so popular, the reservation appointment times don't become available until 1-2 weeks beforehand Overall - I definitely would come back again just because the service appointment is so good and it feels good to get exfoliated and massaged. The one thing I do wish they had more availability is a scalp focused section of the massage, but I can't be that made haha 10/10 but I wish loud culturally unaware people would stop coming here and ignoring directions Tips: - helpful to bring cash for tip (they give you an envelope at the end of your treatment that sometimes has a Venmo account but not always ) - if you like showering with your own shampoo and conditioner, bring it. They also have hairdryers there but bring your hair tools or moisturizer if you want to use it after your service ! - no one actually cares that you're naked and it's not as weird as you think it is, everyone's in their own zone having a relaxing time - book an early appointment time so you don't have to compete for tub or shower space!

Coming from an American perspective, being completely naked around strangers felt very foreign at first, but it was honestly fascinating to experience a different culture where that's completely normal. I got used to it much faster than I expected, and it really wasn't a big deal. I booked the scrub and massage package. The body scrub was AMAZING. Almost a week later and my skin still feels incredibly soft. Definitely the highlight of the spa services for me. The massage itself was just okay. It included a facial with some type of cream and shaved cucumber slices, which left my skin feeling nice and soft, but I've definitely had better massages. Between the bright lights, being completely exposed, and being rushed to sit up, move over, and switch positions, it was a little hard to fully relax. Now let's talk about the food, because WOW. I forgot the menu number, but I ordered the Korean ribs along with the tofu, beef and shrimp soup, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and comforting. Honestly, I would come back just for the food alone. Overall, I'd happily return for another scrub and a meal. The massage wasn't my favorite, but the experience itself was memorable and gave me a new appreciation for a tradition that's so different from what many of us are used to.

I've purchased my own package since, and it's been an amazing source of decompression and relaxation. Why do I love my solo sauna sessions? It's like having your own little haven to energize, rejuvenate, or entertain yourself in peace. The experience is more meditative and entertaining, rather than the communal experience with traditional saunas. You get your own room at each session (40 minutes for one session). Each room is set up with a TV, built-in speakers inside the sauna, a controller, and four towels. One towel for the base of the sauna, one medium sized towel, a small towel, and a eucalyptus-infused cold towel for in-between or after your session. There are multiple light settings for therapeutic purposes (the red light settings being the most scientifically backed) and also set the vibe of the space to your preference. You can also adjust the temperature throughout your session. The rooms are clean, quiet (especially if you play any sort of music, meditation, or show/movie), and peaceful. There's a bathroom accessible in the halls but no shower, so be prepared to wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting sweaty. As for price? Each session costs about $20-25 per session, but you can get more value with limited set or monthly packages. What I've realized is that a majority of these so called "deals" I have clicked on over Facebook are nothing more than a facade for a deal. Nevertheless I gave it a whirl to see what this was all about. Location of business is in the upscale part of Irvine, where I met my mentor to discuss my real estate deal I worked on last year. Definitely not a poor area. Before going in I was given a cup of water because it's recommended not to eat and drink lots of water before treatment, which began with getting on a machine that calculated my BMI, weight and visceral fat. Red light therapy is nothing more than warm light on large individual bands fastened by strips of Velcro, wrapped around your waist, tricep, and thigh areas that supposedly "loosen" fat cells for 20 minutes as you lay on a bed listening to soft music. It's warm, but not enough to make you break a sweat. After that I was given special watermelon tonic and put on a soft robe to stand on a machine to do "whole body vibration therapy" which basically is a machine that vibrates your fat away and you can set the machine on levels 1-100. I set it to a moderate level at 5. After that I went to another room to sit in a sauna chair that only heats you from the waist down. I didn't sweat in that thing either, as the owner gave me a booklet with their packages. The room had a little room divider where another woman sat in another sauna chair. Owner told that woman about how they were moving to an even bigger location that will have yoga. I zoned out of the conversation as both women discussed their divorces. When the other woman finished her sauna session, she said she felt so "refreshed." I felt nothing. At the end of the session I was walked to the original room I was in to gather my things. Owner told me she didn't want to mention it in presence of other lady but they have discount packages (because the intake form asked my profession, marital status and home address so she can use that to size up her client to assess my estimated income to see what I can afford). I didn't put down my actual profession to see what she'd say. Well played. It's been 3 days and my weight hasn't changed. I didn't feel any more "energy" from the energy package I selected. It's all an expensive placebo of smoke and mirrors.

People can go into the shower and shower for 30 minutes or more and use 8 bottles of spa treatments and leave people standing in line for 15 minutes or more who just wanted to be able to take a quick shower after a workout or being in the pool. Too bad for you! What a joke. This has happened to me numerous times. And the hair washing queens didn't come from the pool, because I swim in the pool. It's just from regular classes. I belong to another Club Studio in a different city, and I've never seen this problem. And I can't even see anything so alluring about the showers at this gym that you'd even want to stay in there for over 30 minutes. In the bathroom, though, Club Studio has "water-saving" motion detected faucets. Serious! If this gives you any idea of what the clientele is like that goes to this place and it doesn't sound like fun having to deal with in the locker room and showers, don't go here. Some good things I can say about this Irvine Club Studio is they do have a clean pool to use, and one of the managers, Julia, was really helpful with dealing with a problem that came up. The trouble with this place is they're just usually too busy trying to cater to the over-entitled instead of doing a good job of running a gym.
