My 18-year-old daughter recently went here for her very first professional massage. While the…read moremassage initially seemed fine, several aspects of the experience were concerning. The service cost was $60. My daughter paid with a $100 bill. When the therapist returned her change and my daughter went to pick it up, the therapist placed her hand over the cash and said, "Tip." There was no signage or communication beforehand indicating tipping expectations. My daughter explained this was her first massage and that she wasn't aware. She then left a tip anyway, to which the therapist responded, "That's it?" This left my daughter embarrassed and uncomfortable. The following morning, my daughter asked me to check the back of her neck because it was sore. At that time, I noticed a visible bruise in that area. My daughter shared that the therapist never checked in regarding pressure during the massage. As a first-time client, she assumed the discomfort was normal and didn't realize she could or should speak up. A professional massage therapist should regularly check in with clients...especially first-timers...about comfort and pressure. Between the lack of communication during the massage and the unprofessional handling of tipping afterward, the experience fell short. I hope this feedback helps improve client care moving forward.

Maple Spa in Mission Viejo looks like an ordinary strip mall spa, yet the owner, Coco, always greets with a smile. It's is nicely decorated, clean, and NONE of that funny business you may get in other strip mall spas. I'd highly recommend Coco and/or Tiffany for their soothing Swedish massage to help with circulation. They do take walk ins, but it's always best schedule ahead of time. So I decided to check this place out. I had the opportunity to have Kat as my massage therapist. She did say before the massage I am here to help with your pain and not hurting you. We needed something that worked out the kinks knots and also stretched our tight muscles. Both of our experiences was absolutely amazing! The staff there were so accommodating and kind. We ended up purchasing packages so we can go back. Highly recommended this place. And there's also a lot of locations available so you're not just stuck with one, but this is literally within walking distance of my house. I'm very excited for my next massage. What made it different and exceptional? Rather than focusing on making me feel "good/better", Tina and Lucy (management) have trained their team to (1) listen and (2) try to solve the problem at the source!! Since my issues relate to having spent way too much time in a car and in front of a computer, I have always asked massage therapists to focus on the problem area : hip and legs. This was the first time I was told "no"!! "I cannot fix your problem if you don't let my work on your back" - I was mildly offended but figured they got points for being direct. See this : after my third massage in a week at Heaven Spa today (after a 25 mile run) with Linda I can honestly say that the SOURCE of my pains in now 90% fixed!! Linda is also by far the most talented back-walker I have ever had - I cannot express the excitement and gratitude I feel being able to touch my toes without pain after more than a decade.
