Large banana walnut with chocolate brownie topped with a sugar cone $5.36
    Diana K.

The 5 star rating is for their homemade ice cream. My first time here but my friend occasionally visited in her childhood/teen years. The fact their ice cream was homemade made this our destination on a warm Friday early evening. The windows were steadily busy but there really wasn't a wait. The young lady who greeted and served us was very sweet. My friend and I decided to share a large half banana walnut and half coffee brownie in a cup topped with a sugar cone. The grounds are clean and welcoming so we sat at some benches under a big umbrella to the right of the building facing the go cart track with my dog. Both ice cream flavors were delicious and very creamy not not too sweet or heavy. The banana flavor was not artificial tasting at all which is usually the case with most banana products and it was chock full of big walnuts. The coffee brownie was also full of fresh brownie pieces and though I could taste a hint of coffee I have had stronger tasting coffee ice creams before. At $5.36 including tax, you can't beat it! We're fans and will be back!!

I asked for a hard ice cream, and it started melting rapidly, and I didn't even have it for a minute. Not the same anymore.

My kids love their homemade ice cream and the price for a fun pass is such a great deal for one of each activity for hours of fun!

They decrease every year and much effort is put into restoring and keeping around those from another era that may be 50+ years old, including this one. But it is still one of the weaker wooden coaster rides in the northeast. There isn't a single amount of air time to be found, even by sitting in the back. Compare that to the Phoenix in PA, which is only 13 feet higher at the top of the lift hill and you hardly stay in your seat. The YC is great for nostalgia but dare I say it, a bit boring overall. It's obviously the best coaster within a half hour of Boston but don't expect some kind of overwhelming experience simply because it is a woodie. Also, the wait times could be improved, they don't seem to be in any kind of rush to get the single train running out of the station. It should never take more than two minutes to get all riders strapped in, yet this seems to be a constant problem overall. Ride it for sentimental reasons that harken back to a different era of trolley parks and lazy Sundays but don't expect the world from this short ride, both in length and height, to blow you away.
