I visited kimball farms for the first time on a company outing! We left work around 11 and arrived by 12. Most people left around 3pm but I stayed until 5 with a few co-workers. 3 hours is NOT enough time for 5 activities. Also it was a Thursday and the place was PACKED. We had wristbands so we began our visit with the "grill" option. Lunch includes a drink and a few options from the menu. All the food was pretty average. I probably wouldn't eat here again. Also they are kinda weird about subbing in items. We wanted 3 waters instead of lunch because someone came late. The manager okayed it but it they weren't pleased. After lunch we saw the baby goats!! So cute!! They were by the pony rides. They were only a week old so they had little wobbly legs. Couldn't get enough of them! Then we went to the bumper cars. There was no line so we ended up going twice. The cars all sit on a huge inflated tube and have "spin zone" areas. If other people hit you in the zone then you spin for a bit and then you can go back to hitting people. I thought the cars were fast enough to be fun. The zip line had a super long line. It was also about 1 minute. We waited for about 45 minutes till our turn. Going up is scary because they pull you up backwards in pairs. It's about 100 ft up. Then you soar back down! Fun and definitely great for kids. It's not worth the wait for adults though. Batting cages- no line! Fun and you get 60 hits! You can pick between softball and baseball @ diff speeds. Arcade- we came around 4pm and it was empty!! So awesome. Each "activity" is worth 8 bucks on the wristband. We were leaving after this so we cashed in! Got tons of stuff with our tickets! Ice cream- I thought the cookie dough ice cream was average. It didn't taste really rich like other homemade ice creams I've had. The portion was huge though and the hot fudge was delicious. Good to share 1 between 2 adults. I would come back with friends. It was a little difficult to stay with our company so we all split off. It's easier to do stuff in smaller groups! Also the wristband is worth buying! You can also buy activities a la carte but it's way more expensive (mini golf is 18.50 normally). read more

We just stopped for ice cream, and I will tell you, even a small cone is huge. Only plan to get a large if you plan on splitting it.

I was given a $20 gift card along with a gift receipt. I showed both the gift card and receipt and asked to purchase tickets to the flying eagle zip line. My young daughter was very excited. The cashier said there was no money on the card. The card history showed that it had never been loaded. I showed the receipt. They said they couldn't do anything. What happened to the $20? **Do not buy any ride/activity package on a weekend** These are an actual scam -- they do not give any warning that you won't be able to use the full package due to 1.5-2.5+ hour lines for each activity. We waited 1.5 hours for the (30 second) zip line ride, then waited an hour in the food line, spent 15 minutes eating, and got right into the line for the bumper boats. After ~1.25 hours we were only halfway through the line, at which point we had to give up and leave due to time constraints. We paid for the 5 activity package, and due to waiting in lines for over 3.5 hours total, we were only able to fit one activity in the ~4 hours we spent at the farm. Also worth noting -- we peered into the "animal encounters" tent and the conditions were very disconcerting. All of the animals are in tiny enclosures with no enrichment, and it seems like they might live there full-time :/ read more

Kimball farm is a money grabbing place. They do not care about their customers all they care about is money. I went there with a bunch of special needs students, each student has a severe disability so they need a one to one staff member with them at all times. I could not believe they would allow a staff member to accompany them on each activities unless they payed. When we were eating lunch some students bought lunch but others have dietary needs so they brought their own lunch and a kimball staff made rude comments about our students and complained about them eating their lunch. My advice save your money and go to Canobie Lake park it's better and you will probably spend less money. read more

We took a ride there, great place fo family and kids. Kids loved the games and the entertainments from mini golf, driving range, pitch and putt, batting cages, bumper boats, zip line and arcade and lot more, this is definitely good get away from the city and the hustle. Kimball Farms is great for a family summer outing. Our kiddos loved the different activities and even the adults enjoyed the fun. It is crowded in the summer of course, especially trying to park but it's expected. Ice cream is yum! I don't remember if we tried any of the food since we went in the evening. Love this place. So much to do in one little area of the city. A slight awkward hike to get to, but def worth the trip. Tons of Arcades, Batting Cages, Bumper Boats, Mini Golf. Theres lots for all ages to do. You can def spend a whole day here. Its as you expect a major tourist trap, Gift Shop with things you will never use but just buy because you are caught up in the moment. There are several food options and they are pricey but portions are insane & everything is really good. . Ice Cream - They have EVERY flavor known to man (Unfortunately none are Dairy Free as I have one with a Milk Allergy)... and those prices are steep too but they are HUGE... Parking is always crazy but there is ample across the street (Just everyone lazy & wont go there so they will sit in the main lot making craziness for 20 minutes waiting for a closer) Get a card in the arcade & just bank your points to get a bigger stuffed animal at the end of the summer! read more

I'm not typically the parent to go on these websites and leave a review on restaurants, but for Kimball farms grill and seafood I will. I thought it would be a nice way to get outside and hang with loved ones but it turned into an utterly disaster. It started out horribly with the 40 minute wait I found myself in and by staying in this line was the worst decision I've ever made. When I finally made it to the window to order, I was greeted by this very loud and obnoxious teenage girl. I was ready to say my order and she screams "WILL YOU TURN THE MUSIC DOWN". Now she proceeds to take my order and as I'm wrapping up I decided not to tip and she goes "your really not gonna tip us"? I said yes and walked away from that obnoxious girl. But it gets worse. Now I'm sitting under the tent for 50 minutes with my family waiting for our food. The order were coming out very slowly and the place showed as if they had no sense of urgency to get these orders out. After all this time and still nothing about my order I went up to the teenage boy serving and it seemed as if he didn't know where he was himself. He was completely ignoring me and he could clearly hear me. That is when I lost it and demanded to talk to a manager. When the manager came I told how it has been 50 minutes and no place should be taking this long for food. The obese manager said "we will call your order up when It's ready so get away from me and go back in the tent". Oh and that's not all. When I finally got my food the clam chowder was very cold, my hot dogs were burnt black on one side but they tried to hide the burning marks by flipping it to the back side of the roll. Also my burger was black and it was almost as if it was sitting in a bucket all day waiting to be served. I will never be going to this place again and I highly recommend people reading this to do the same. read more

After dinner at the seafood grill and shack. we walked around the amusement area for a bit. There are lots of pass time activities that include mini golf, bumper boats, driving range, pony rides, arcade and the batting cages. The lines were too long to participate in anything. If we played mini golf, we would have waited for 2-3 groups to complete the round before it was our turn. Also, they were charging $12.50 per a person for a round for mini golf (compared to the $6.00 I paid at Jay Gee's in Methuen). The bumper boats were fun to watch. People were more interested in taking selfies and videos than actually enjoyed the attraction. I know, sounds all too familiar. We made our way pack to the entrance and browsed the Country Store. There's a small bakery inside the store that sells coffee, fudge and baked items. I was secretly hoping they has some cider donuts for sale but I guess I'll have to save that for my next Parlee's farm visit. Hmmm...I'm not sure what the hype about this place is..I truly don't get it. The food is absolutely horrible. Super, super expensive and totally lacked taste by all means. My Fiance and I both got clams (with bellies) and they were not good. The potato salad was just as bad. The only good thing I can say about the food is I love they give you a piece of watermelon. The two best things about this place is the mini-golf and the ice cream. We played on both sides of the mini-golf and loved it. The line for the ice cream is just ridiculous..BUT, the ice cream is definitely worth the wait. Kimball Farm is a place we go to once a year. Beyond that, no reason to go more than once a year. It's fun, consistent, and depending on how much you want to do, is reasonable on the wallet. Definitely get the Pick 5 deal so you can try each of the rides/events that they offer. its only $35 and worth it, as long as you are smart about what you choose as part of the pick 5. Don't waste your money for the pick 5 and ice cream option, unless you want to get a milkshake/frappe (which is like $6-7 for those) because a small ice cream is like $3-4 at the stand, but you are paying $5 for it? not a good value. Also, check the ticket prices of the rides you want to use, as some are vastly less than others. Definitely take a gander at the driving range as it is pretty fun to whack some balls as hard and as far as possible, since it really is a lot harder than it looks to smash a tiny little ball over 100 yards.I guess that's why the pros make millions to make it look easy. Bumper boats is fun, but the time duration is pretty short. Mini golf is exceptional here, offering 2 different courses with its own challenges. The lines for most of the rides here can get long on the weekends, but to be honest, you really won't be waiting forever (like at 6 flags, which you should ALWAYS BUY THE FLASH PASS). The Soaring Eagle is a new ride they offer which looks like a long seated zip line that is really just targeted for the kids. The best thing I enjoyed was the Spin Bumper cars, where if you hit someone on a specific area, they spin uncontrollably for 5 seconds. That is pretty fun to be hit and to hit. The arcade here is okay, very limited and the selection of prizes are pretty weak. But then again, it caters to little kids, so as grown adults, its not worth it to complain about (when compared to Dave n Busters). Just play some games if you need to get rid of any of the Pick 5 things you didn't use (as it is valued at $8 arcade credit per play). The distance from Boston is approx 45 min-1 hour pending on traffic, but its worth the trek. The food is just usual overpriced greasy stuff, so if you want to bring your own lunch, I would recommend it. It's all fried food pretty much, so for you health nuts, stay clear. The ice cream is pretty good too and the lines for the ice cream are probably the worst part. You can spend a good 15-20 minutes just waiting for your order to be taken. This is a good place to just spend the afternoon or day (6-7 hours) to enjoy all the offerings it has. read more

Ridiculous and mean policy that no "spectators" are allowed on the mini golf course. I went with another mother and our four kids. We (adults) were told we each had to pay $12 to go on the course. Eventually and reluctantly they said one of us could spectate for free because "they're being nice." Really? Allowing us to provide adult supervision is "nice" and not encouraged? When we went to explain this to the kids - and remind them to play nicely without adults watching - we we chased down by a Kimball's employee to tell us to pay or get off the course. Bumper boats, driving range and Mini golf were a blast! The ice cream is amazing!! But the staff doing the pony rides were very rude.... They all seemed to be in a rush to get the kids in and out. In between all their gossiping among each other. Definitely not worth 8 dollars. Also, those poor animals in the exhibit. They kept an alligator in a cooler behind the curtain. :( What's worse is that my 8 year old noticed it. All the animals in there look miserable. None of the reptiles have what they should in their tank. They should all have water to be able to lay in and shade, they have neither. It's actually really sad. read more

A few years ago this place underwent a major renovation to build this mini golf facility. When it was done it successfully succeeded in closing the other local spots down because this place is a lot nicer looking. I enjoy going here when I visit home but it is a major turn off that playing is so expensive, thus deducting two stars.. Also as I remember there are only two routes so once you've mastered them you better go looking somewhere else for some fun. read more

Love this place, one of the best mini golf courses around. Two mini golf courses and they can be challenging. There is a lot of detail and a lot of thought that went into these courses. Waterfalls, waterways, trick holes, etc, really fun. Very scenic too. Of couse, its surrounded by the rest of the Kimball Farms "playground" which features bumper boats, food, ice cream, and more! My only gripe is its $11 a person! I think mini golf is about $7-$9 at most other places, like in Auburn and Sterling. read more

Seafood Grill was alright, but WAY too expensive. $10 for a burger potato salad and a slice of watermelon. $14 for chix fingers fries and a slice of watermelon. Fountain drink was almost $3! For the kids 8oz juice too!!! Activities are decent, but you can do them elsewhere for cheaper. Pong ride, $8 and you go around a small circle three times... Clean environment (although not the bathroom so much... Too small for the facility it is hosting). Beautiful nature. Free parking. Front is a bit over crowded, back is spacious. No parking = no ice cream. Saddest afternoon ever at Kimball Farm today. We live far from here and it's a huge treat that we try and get once or twice a year. Never again, this place is a circus. We drove around looking for a place to park for 20 minutes! We were being directed and redirected by the parking attendants and we kept getting blocked out by other cars. They had a Santander bank corporate event on a sunny Sunday afternoon in June. Obviously the big money took precedence over a family wanting an ice cream cone. We told one parking guy that we were struggling to find a spot and he was unsympathetic. So we pulled away WITHOUT GETTING ANY ICE CREAM. It's just not worth the trouble. read more

We chose to have our wedding reception at Kimball Farm because we wanted to do something different and fun. We paid a good amount of money for a private tent. More money than we would have spent on a traditional reception, honestly. But we liked the idea and Kimball Farm has the best ice cream, so we went with them. Unfortunately, our private tent ended up being anything but. My wedding reception was shared by unwelcome, loud, rude strangers that stole cupcakes and favors from us. The grill set up in our tent was shared with a few other private events. I completely understand the need for doing that due to staff and energy concerns, so that was fine. However there was no signage whatsoever anywhere but the very front of our tent indicating that the tent was part of a private event separate from their own, while people were directed to the grill station through the back of the tent, so several people got their food and sat down at tables next to the grill... In our private tent that we had paid for specifically so that we could celebrate our marriage with friends and family. Many of them also took cupcakes and favors from us. I complained to a member of the events staff, who asked one group to leave and told me that they would go back to their own tent "as soon as they finished their food". An hour and a half (and multiple servings of food) later and they were still there. In fact, they are in several of my wedding photos. I get that it's convenient to sit right next to the grill, but this was MY WEDDING RECEPTION! Understandably, that's a pretty important day. I was not able to locate the gentleman who had asked them to leave, but given how much effort he put into moving them and how unsuccessful it was, I doubt it would have helped much with the other groups of interlopers who sat at our tables, ate our cupcakes, made rude comments, and swore multiple times in front of the children and elderly relatives that were present. I emailed Kimball Farm after the event to tell them how disappointed I was at the way my reception was handled and the response I received was "Well, it looked like your guests were enjoying themselves." In conclusion, Kimball Farm is great for a family outing or a day of fun with the kids, but do not use them for events unless you want rude strangers eating your cupcakes and showing up in all of your pictures. read more

I remember this place from years ago. It used to be just ice cream and mini golf and bumper boats. This is a great place and it's so much fun. The mini golf course is by far the ABSOLUTE BEST I have ever been to. I have never been able to find a better one and all others are super lame in comparison. There are two which are both unique and super fun. The waterfall one and the cave one. The driving range and bumper boats are also fun and also not too expensive. The ice cream here is also delicious. They have massive portion sizes where the small feels like 3 big scoops. read more

Save your money or go to an amusement park or Jaygees in Methuen for mini-golf! Way over priced for mini-golf round with poison ivy laced walkways! To take your child in the bumper cars you have to pay for two tickets, you are also expected to extend to pay to watch the golf game even if you aren't playing. They have two beautiful mini golf courses. The courses are nestled among beautiful water features, such as large waterfalls and streams. The holes have some fun challenges, including hills, gaps in the green, and a half pipe that you have to curve your ball up. If you like mini-golf, these courses are worth a visit. read more
