This place does not honor reservations. I started making reservations so I would get the same person all the time. After rushing there to meet my 5:30 appointment she was finishing up a pedicure so I waited. Then she started to give the customer a foot message then held up 1 finger as if it would be 1 minute. You might think really, a review about a nail salon, aren't they a dime a dozen? Not so with Maxy Nails! I've been going there for the past five years (at least), I always see Gina, but the entire staff is friendly, accommodating, welcoming, and professional. Gina herself is an amazing technician and I look forward to every mani/pedi/wax/massage appointment. I am not the only repeat customer, because from my perch on the pedi chair I always see them welcoming customers by name, from age 4 to age 94 it seems. Went and got my nails done Friday- before I was finished the lady tills me you have two weeks to come back and get nails foxed if any problems... but I always get my nails done and never have any problems.. anyways.. I used to love Maxy Nails for the jelly pedicures but this week, I had such a horrible experience, I will no longer go back. I asked for a jelly pedicure and manicure. During my pedicure, another customer walked in and my technician spoke to her and let her know to take a seat and she'll be with her soon. Because of that, they gave me someone else for my nails which I don't love but didn't have a choice. When I sat down to get my nails done, I noticed a sign that said no tip on card, must be in cash. From here, I panicked a bit because I only had 9$ and I would have given it ALL to the one technician if they didn't split me up. At the end of my appointment, I gave the woman who did my pedicure the 5 dollar bill as she did a wonderful job, massage, the whole 9 and the rest of my money to my nail tech (4$). Now I normally tip much higher than this but it was technically 15%. It was all I had. When I gave it to her, she TOOK IT FROM ME AND COUNTED IT OUT AT THE TABLE IN FRONT OF ME. she pointed 1-2-3-4? I thought maybe she wasn't sure what it was so I explained, that's for you. Is somethjng wrong? She said "5". I said I'm sorry it's all I have in cash. It says you don't take tip on card right? To which she responded "mhm" and starred at me very rudely. She degraded me for the tip I gave her in front of all the customers. I just put my head down and continued to grab my belongings. Then before I got up she goes "PEDICURE?" And started calling the technician over. I'm like no, I know I have a tip for her too, thank you? It was almost like she thought I wasn't going to tip her or that she was annoyed she was getting a tip? She followed me over to her and watched me give her the $5. The pedicure technician smiled and thanked me kindly while the nail technician continued to grill me. I told her to her face that was very rude and walked out so embarrassed. I never had anyone count their tip in front of me, let alone tell me I'm wrong and that she needs more. I called the manager 10 mins later because I couldn't shake the feeling and the manager said "what do you want me to do?" And hung up after I told her how embarrassed and uncomfortable I am now coming there. "I'll talk to her, bye!" Once I got home, I hand sanitized and it burned so bad. I then realized I had 5 fingers all cut up at the cuticle. So disappointed in the experience. read more

I usually come here for regular manicures because it's close to my house but I got a dip powder manicure last week. Within 2 days one of my nails cracked. I went back and they fixed it with no charge which was nice but annoying that I had to go back, wait and get it fixed. Now just a few days later (I've only had the manicure for a week) I have another chipped nail. They are also all coming up from the base of my nail and are snapped kind of weird. Came in for a quick pedicure before a wedding last minute because my normal place was all booked. I was unaware the tips were only cash and I explained that to them before I sat down. I felt badly, but there is no ATM around. I figured next time I came in because they are right up the block, I would give it to her. She proceeded to follow me out of the salon and said "you didn't tip" I replied with "I told you before I sat down I do not have cash" she then asked me to venmo her. Next day another nail fell off, couldn't go back that day so went back the next to get it fixed, after leaving for the second time a different nail pealed off a few hours after. Worst experience ever. I was charged for glue which I wasn't informed of and the time spent on my nails . I wasn't told until I was ready to pay. I have never been charged for nail glue my whole life. Also isn't time included ? I usually tip my nail tec according to time spent and work well done. Charged $80 for a fill in. The whole nail wasn't even painted, and no pampering was done to the nails. All that was done was snapping and applying the color. My cuticles weren't cleaned up, and the nails weren't filed. I'm not a confrontational person so I left the salon with my nails being horrible. Will not be going back. read more

She charged me 47 and when I said something she tried explain that it was a gel and it was 47, and I said that's not at all what the sign says. By far the worst mani pedi I've ever received. Barely removed my dead skin. Didn't soak my hands. I barely received a hello when I finally got a manicurist after 30 minutes of waiting. They even had the audacity to let other people ahead of me when I was there before them( and they didn't have an appointment ). I only received a 10 second massage after my manicure and pedicure. My experience at this place was terrible the nail tech forgot to put two top coats on my right hand and only put one she shaped my nails horribly and left gaps on my nails with the sns powder i had to tell her to fix it she cut me twice and Kind I'd laughed my finger is swollen now I would not recommend this place at all save your money and go somewhere else read more

I really wanted to love this place. First experience was not bad. Although I literally watched the tech put acetone in the nail polish she was using on me, I was excited to find a nail place that was down the block from my house, on my way home from work, and being able to get a quick mani and pedi and avoid the village traffic was nice. Second experience was terrible. I got a mani pedi just before a holiday party I was attending. The pedicure was sub par; no leg/foot rub, no back rub while drying. I left a nice tip since we are close to the holidays but I second guessed it. While at the holiday party, I noticed my mani was chipped. Mind you, this was only about 2 hours later. The next day it was all chipped and wrecked so I took the polish off and figured I'd stop in to mention the next day. When I went into the salon, I stated nicely that my manicure only lasted a couple of hours and wanted to know if next time I am in there, might they honor a free manicure. I was told that no, regular manicures are not guaranteed, that they only last a day or two. To which I replied that this was only a couple of hours. I was told a manicure is only $8 and again not guaranteed. With all of the competition in the area, you would think they might appreciate customers a bit more. Never again. read more

I have been to this nail salon several times since it is very close to the apartment I just moved into. Today I went to the salon for a pedicure and gel manicure with Jennifer. Pedicure was average , nothing spectacular but not horrible either. The gel manicure was HORRIBLE! Jennifer didn't cut my cuticles she just pushed them back with nail polish remover. She was also very sloppy with the color polish. Many spots were missed or uneven. There were also bubbles on my nails. When I asked her to fix a spot it was almost like I was irritating her. I just let her finnish knowing that I woukd never come back here. It's a shame too because I live right around the corner and would have been in every week for a pedicure or gel manicure. read more
