Tried out Pearl based on pics and these reviews and I'm so happy I did. My nails were badddd when I got there. 1 broken, 2 chipped and all super outgrown. Gordon did my nails w a UV gel fill in and fixed 2 which total was $45. Insane! I was looking for a new place after spending $125 on a fill in at my old place and Pearl was 100% better. I used to go to this nail salon religiously when I first most to Long Island 8 months ago. I am very particular with my nails and have been doing them the same way for years. I'll barely switch it up and add a design for special occasions but for the most part I like a plain ombré with translucent glitter. The service at first wasn't the greatest but it was doable because I am particular and didn't want to have to look for a new nail salon. The service started getting worse and the nail techs would argue that what I wanted wouldn't look good. I like a clear base and they kept trying to talk me into a pink base which in my opinion doesn't look good and if I'm paying for a service I'm not going to walk around with a color I don't like. For me the last straw was when I brought my daughter with me to get our nails done for Christmas. I had made a reservation for both of us and they made her wait while they took other walk ins because I refused to have them out gel on my minor. I told them specifically due to her age regular nail polish is all we wanted. As we were finishing up one of the techs proceeded to give every customer in the salon a "Christmas gift" except me and my daughter. Which I thought was so rude. place is great! nice and clean & lots of colors. only thing that could have been better is the nail techs talk to eachother nonstop & giggle which is off putting when you're trying to relax. also charge $5 to trim your nails which i thought wasn't cool, im already paying $70 to get my nails done that usually includes a trim. otherwise they were great. massage was amazing!!! very good job on my nails too! read more

Good part: they get you in fast. Bad part: the tech barely know any English and don't seem to have any theory of mind. I went here several times and the techs were good, then they stuck me with a girl who crushed my fingers and cut my skin and ignored me as I spoke. I said "that hurts," "you're hurting me," "please stop hurting my fingers" and I started crying and she didn't stop for a moment! The people in the other chairs were watching me, which was weird- and the girl continued to hurt me and use too much force oh my delicate fingers. No other techs stepped in to do anything about it. I had no idea how to communicate with this girl and why she didn't understand signs of pain and distress like CRYING and tone of voice. I looked around the room for help and no nail tech did anything. I ended the appointment early and got a pink color instead of a French manicure because I could not take the pain anymore. I'm only going to American nail techs from this day forward. How do you work a custom service job, hurt and ignore your customer and have no idea how to communicate with them?!?! read more

The service was horrible. It was not a pleasant experience because one of the lady who did my nails gave me an attitude when I requested shorter nails (all she had to do was file them shorter) and the first time I came here they made me bleed with an electric filer because the nail tech was busy talking instead of paying attention to what he was doing. I do not recommend this place at all!! The lady asked me if I wanted additional add ons to my simple gel manicure I specifically told her "no I would just like a regular gel manicure" she then proceeded to do the add ons and I was charged for them at the end. She was also being rough and cut my skin about 4 times in total. After telling the guy who rung me up that I didn't ask for the things she added on he gave me attitude. Then she rushed up on me yelling in my face that it was already done even tho I didn't ask for it. The vibes were very off today and I should've known when I walked in. went with my daughter and she got charged a full price for a powder manicure, which is fine, however if you are going to charge my 10 yr old full price she should get full service which include the massage and time . Also , i show my girl the simple design I wanted on my new sets and I think she was too lazy because first she told me ok , than she said she can't do it , then I literally got a 30 seconds massage , when other clients were getting at least 5 mins. . To add on top of all of this , I just asked for a regular acrylic set , and I was told when it was time to pay that I had to pay extra because I did a gel manicure and I was so confused because I never asked for that ! Very rude, extremely overpriced. The guy waiting at the door when I arrived for the fourth time went and got his manager like I was supposed to be scared. No, get who you want i don't care you're gonna do the job right i paid my $do the job The right way the first time. and I wouldn't have to come back. DO NOT GO THERE. there are many more salons in the area with more expertise and professionalism. by the time I got home my nails were smudged and ruined. my original nail polish was never even taken off properly and when I showed him the defects he just painted over them. when I called the next day to see if they could fix it because I have a wedding to attend, a woman screamed NO GUARANTEE you got a regular manicure that's why. and hung up on me. even with a regular manicure it should last more than a few hours? please don't give this place your business. by far the worst experience I've ever had at a salon read more

Poor service. I normally come in for powder gel and today I went to get it removed because it broke and cracked after a week of having them. Not only did I leave very disappointed and frustrated with the quality of removal but I also was up charged for the sole fact of wanting to cut the length of my nails. The nail tech burned my fingers multiple times with the electric file, and left residual powder gel on my hands. This is the outcome. I was charged 10 dollars in total with an extra 5 dollars for wanting to shorten my natural nails meanwhile my sister went yesterday and was charged 5 dollars for the same exact service. Andy, don't follow brand new price chart, cash prices either that's hanging on the wall. Andy literally makes up his own prices my friend appt in front of me was charged $5 more for fill in 35 in stead of 30. I was charged $10 more for exact fill in no special color, did not ask to change my nail shape nothing. Andy did not mentioned any reason to charge me more .. Or ask ..When i questioned where that price come from Andy said I cut ur nails shorted.. lol used same excuse to girl in front of me but charged her $5 me $10. Too funny Andy !! I got the special cut lol I didn't ask for... u want to up your sales on a slow day .. I guess lol u should notify clients before u just add on $$$ ask first .. Absolutely disgusting. I called ahead to ask if my fill in and gel pedi could be accommodated . They lied even after I got in the salon and said they could do the services requested. Once I was in the pedicure chair they then decide to tell me they can't complete my fill in and that "I'm fine with just a pedicure". Not only was my pedicure rushed but not one ounce of oil or lotion touched my feet and all dead skin was still there. The attitude everyone gave is unnecessary and I will never be returning. Horrible place to get your nails done despite the variety that they offer. Waited over 1hr 1/2 to be seen with no regard, they were taking other people walking in ahead of me. They had completely forgotten that I had an appt. They don't comprehend English well at all when trying to describe how you like your nails done, they do what they assume what you asked for and when you try to correct them, they get vary nasty. The employees don't know what they're doing. They leave you midst getting your nails done and taking other people leaving you waiting. A disgrace to the space. read more

where do I start First I will say they are very clean which is top of the list . The first few times I went there I left satisfied with the look of my nails. Then I decided to get a pedicure well for $20 you can at least take off all the cuticles not just skim them and then the polish was so sloppy & two toned ( I guess because i chose a light color ‍.
