Pad Thai (Spicy)(GF) - Chicken

Ordered takeout before a day full of skiing! These noodles were a life saver! Absolutely incredible portion, and they tasted great! Also would heavily recommend delivery since they pump it out fast!

Tofu lettuce wraps and sesame tofu served with a very large bowl of rice. Oh...and a glass of Chardonnay.

After a long day of traveling and checking in and skiing and grocery shopping, we treated ourselves to a magnificent dinner at May Palace. We happen to be vegans and we were so pleased with the many options we had and the quality of the food. The service was also exceptional. This is not our first time here, but it is the first time I'm reviewing May Palace. I was shocked to see that it didn't have a much higher rating on Yelp. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted warmly and multiple servers came to make sure we were pleased with our meal and to refill our waters. Definitely a must when you're in Vail.

Shrimp fried rice (spice level 4) custom ordered to add spice and my husband approved the spice level was accurate and tasty.

Fast, friendly and tasty takeout. I hesitated due to the reviews to try May's Palace it is right around the corner from our new house. I was extremely impressed. I ordered Beef with Broccoli, Crab Rangoon, Vegetable egg rolls, and spicy shrimp fried rice about a half hour prior to closing on a Saturday night. It was one of a few options for takeout open later. The food had a good flavor and was not greasy. The staff at checkout was very friendly. Don't let the reviews scare you. This is a solid business and worth a try.

I enjoyed my dinner at May Palace; however, my boyfriend did not. He got the Volcano Chicken and it was overcooked and dry, not very spicy, and the broccoli it came with was nearly raw. I on the other hand got the Orange Chicken which I thought was good. I even liked the orange slices it was garnished with. We also ordered crab rangoons which I thought were pretty good, and some steamed pork dumplings which we liked. The bar seemed much busier than the restaurant. I liked the decor and music they played. Overall I would go back but my boyfriend would not.

Great food and very reasonable prices, just delicious food, thank you, we are out of town and we recognize the quality of the food.

Sweet and Sour Pork. Also came with soup.

We eat here often although may be first time for lunch. Came here to watch football. We were the only ones in the bar and we couldn't have had worst service from our rude waitress. Be wary of tall lady with glasses. We had a great lunch at a great price. she brought our bill while we were eating without even asking if we were done ordering. I told her I would like another beer but not right now. After the 3rd period started I tried to get out waitresses attention and finally had to go to the bar and say hello. They like to hide behind the curtain a-lot here. Back to the food. Great portions for $12. Beers are a great price also for Vail. $4-4.50. Great place to watch football. 6 TV's. Seating for 30 people and usually not crowded. At night there is a local bar crowd. Restaurant has lots of seating, although we usually sit in the bar for the TVs Tim the bartender walked in when we were leaving. He helped us last time we were there, and he was awesome, friendly, and so attentive.

We were very excited to try this restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Vail Village where we were staying. Unfortunately the service was extremely poor and management themselves were rude. If service is this bad, does it really matter if the food is good?

Hunting for rare Chinese take away places in Vail and I found this!

For those that give this place a low rating, I'm thinking that they might be viewing this with an unusually harsh lens. I actually like the place, thought the food was tasty, the service was courteous and the prep time was incredibly fast. I grabbed some take-away food from here on 2 different occasions. Since I did not dine in, I cannot comment on the dining room aspects and table service but it was easy to find, had ample parking, and the greeter was Johnny-on-the-spot quick to acknowledge me and take my order. Even more impressive was the less than 10 min turnaround time from placing my order to having a bag of food in my hot little hands and walking out the door. As for the food, it is a bit on the expensive side (but understandable since this is Vail and almost none of their ingredients would be able to be had from a local producer) and it certainly caters towards more westernized palates. I generally dislike Asian restaurants that try to cross borders and be all-Asian to all people so when I initially reviewed the menu and saw Vietnamese Spring Rolls as an option, I was skeptical. But the food hit the spot and in watching the kitchen and front of house staff, it is certainly being prepared by real Chinese people who seem to know their way around a wok. I've had worse in some Chinatown joints around the world and I think that says something. The best dish I ordered was the Lo Mein which had plenty of toothsome and flavorful noodles with a generous amount of chicken. I would not have a problem eating that dish again. So in summary, was it the best Chinese food I've ever had? Of course not. It did not have live seafood tanks, dim sum carts, or roasted ducks hanging in the window. But given that it is about the only Chinese food option within 150 miles, it was very serviceable when you have the need for it and are in the area. Based on that fact alone, it gets 3 stars for even trying to make a go of it in the hipster heavy Vail area among all the places with food that costs more than my mortgage. It gets the 4th star for all of the other positive factors listed above. And for those that are ultra-critical of this restaurant, just think about how high you would rate the other Chinese restaurant options in the area? Since that possibility approaches zero (because there are none), unless you like having pizza and burgers as your only available fast take out option when in Vail, you might want to check yourself at the door and give this place another try to see if you can find something to like.

Came across May Palace by accident but was delighted to find some really tasty food. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Chinese dishes. I was impressed with how quickly I was waited on and how promptly I was served. The place offers draft, foreign and domestic beers. I had the shrimp fried rice and it was excellent. I'd definitely recommend May Palace for individuals, couples and families.

It took an hour and 20 minutes to get an order of fried rice. Zero communication on what the issue or timing was.

Lackluster food. Pretty bland flavors all around. Fresh spring rolls were good but everything else was disappointing

He was nice and attentive and made sure we loved our meal! It's the very end of ski season so they had a limited menu as well. With this said, it was so delicious! 10 out of 5 This is…read morethe best Asian restaurant in Vail and possibly Colorado. They have a huge menu from sushi to Thai but the stand outs are their Chinese dishes. If you want authentic Szechuan this is the place! What we got: - Wonton soup - homemade dumplings had a good ginger and garlic flavor. Big enough for two as an app. - Double cooked pork - absolutely outstanding. Big portion with vegetables, fermented black beans, so good! - Spicy crispy fish - highly recommend this if you like spicy food. I love this dish whether the chicken or fish variations and this might have been the best I've had! I can't say enough about the Chinese food. We were blown away with how good they were. Our server Patrick was incredible. He was so friendly and welcoming. He's a serious skier and you can often find him backpacking 30+ pounds of cooking gear to make fresh food slope side! We have tried many places in Vail and I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. The interior is small so I recommend making a reservation. Pro tip: it's BYOB so bring a bottle of wine or a few beers!
