Stopped into Aspen around lunch time and ravenous for some good eats. Stopped into this little restaurant that sits slightly below grade on a fairly busy street in the downtown. Nice modern decor, customized bar, and TV on inside. Feels upscale. Was greeted promptly and very courteously. My dining partner and I ordered some green teas and apps to start: crab Rangoon, pork potstickers, and Soup Dumplings. Came out quickly and with the standard accompaniments: sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard, and ponzu sauce. I would say they were all ok, but nothing worth writing home about. We ordered entrees: teriyaki salmon and the lunch sized Kung Pao Chicken. The entrees were better than the appetizers : both were 4 out of 5. Nice sized portions. The negatives to our experience: the price was befitting of Aspen - $142.00 before gratuity. Fine it comes with the territory. The other was a large horde of friends of the owner or the manager came into the restaurant during our meal, not to dine, but just hang out. They were very loud and disruptive. The owner or manager came over and apologized for the incident but at that point the damage was done. Kind of killed the vibe of an upscale place and transformed it into a hangout for 20 somethings. read more

This is one of two Asian cuisines in Aspen and it definitely reflect the expenses of Aspen. Expect everything to cost at least twice what you're use to at lower elevations. We found the food is well made though and I might say even authentic. The fish appears to taste fresh and the sauce tasted as I expected. The string beans tasted great. The dan dan noodle was good but we were surprised they used ramen noodles instead of higher quality noodles. Overall the meal was good and enjoyable. The ambience is fancy and clean. read more

This place has good food and my husband and I really enjoyed going there. However, they are incredibly deceptive and will always round whatever you tip to 20% without notifying you after you have completed the purchase and left. So if you tip 10%, after you leave they add to the check to make it a 20% tip. This is an illegal practice. The menu states they have a right to add gratuity however this does not allow them to amend your tip once you've left and charge your card more. When challenged they refunded us for the last three visits they did it to us but not without asking us first how much we would tip. We said zero as they've been stealing from us and tipping is up to the customers discretion. We won't be back. read more

The food wasn't very good, the pork belly soup was spicy even though the website said it wasn't. They are very overpriced! We asked for regular pork dumplings and clarified this a number of times over the phone and he still gave us "soup dumplings" which are completely different. There were 3 dumplings and we got charged $18 for them. They also automatically incorporate a 15% tip even if you don't want to tip. Not impressed. read more

The restaurant is a bit hidden, it's easy to overlook. The inside was surprisingly modern and stylish. We were greeted and served on quickly. The food also came quickly but was just okay. If I order Mongolian beef, then I expect beef on the plate. The dish consisted mainly of broccoli bits, onions and bean sprouts and here and there some beef. We also had a chicken dish. This place had amazing authentic Chinese/Szechuan by cuisine. The string beans are amazing and the beef noodles are very comforting. You've gotta go out of your comfort zone if you're not Chinese but the authentic stuff is the best in Aspen and comparable if not better than Jing. Called ahead to order on a lazy Friday night. I was very happy with the quality and taste of the food; however, I did remove a star just because it was so dang expensive. I mean $18 for TWO egg rolls... kind of outrageous. BEWARE: they also automatically include 20% gratuity, so be mindful when you sign the receipt and they ask for additional tip. We got the Thai basil chicken, BBQ pork pad Thai with extra garlic, wonton in chili oil, and seaweed salad. This was well over $100. read more

Little Ollie's was a mixed experience. Me and boyfriend split 2 different types of dumplings as an appetizer. We also split the Happy Family seafood plate. The Happy Family was pretty mediocre for $32. Parts of the dish were overly salty and other parts were tasteless. We each had a Sapporo with our meal. The stomach distress started about 15 minutes after leaving. We live in Leadville and we barely made the drive over Indy Pass. We both had stomach issues continuing through the night into the next day. We both felt incredibly ripped off for a $95 dollar meal. Maybe we shouldn't have indulged in seafood in a landlocked state. There is much better Asian food in Aspen, like City Market sushi. Steer clear of Little Ollie's! read more

Food and service were great but save yourself from the expensive soup dumplings that were $18 for 3 teeny tiny pieces and were just ok. Will definitely go again, but we'll be weary of the appetizers. read more
