If I could put zero stars I would. Several years ago some family members went there and said it was amazing so when we came back up to Colorado this year, we ordered a 150+ dollars worth for a birthday dinner. It was the worst Chinese food we've ever had. It was awful, tasteless and dry, We didn't preorder because we wanted it to be fresh but that made no difference. I was out of town and wanted some Chinese food. I didn't have high expectations, because I was far from a big city. But, the food from Pearl dragon was amazing. We had to call in a to go order, and they even called us when it was the best time to start driving to them, so our food would be hot and ready upon pick up. Food was ok. WAYYYYY Overpriced. Two meals, no sides no extras was $50. PF Changs is not this expensive. The menu is not available online and the pictures on yelp were unclear because there are multiple prices for each meal. Assume the more expensive one. It took an hour to get a meal and the lobby was empty when I came to pick up. And they add a credit card service charge on top of it. This definitely a must-stop to for us every time we are in Granby! They are only serving takeout, no dine in. We ordered the family dinner. It was more than enough food for three of us. It came with two cartons of fried rice, two soups, two entrees, and appetizers (crab cheese wontons, egg rolls, fried shrimp). Our only complaint was that the egg fried rice had almost no egg, and had no veggies in it either. Other than that, the food was amazing and was hot when we picked it up and still warm by the time we ate it. The people there are always friendly as well. read more

The fried rice, who is mushy and only had a tiny bit of egg and it. Had no flavor. I don't know who the heck the chef was but usually rice isn't a problem and it's Chinese restaurant. Most of the food was bland even the spicy dishes. It really messed up my intestines and I had the poops for the entire next day. My impression was it might've had a ton of MSG in it. If you're in this area (Winter Park, Fraser, Nederland, Hot Sulfur Springs, Grand Lake), try your best to get a taste of this Chinese food. Their dishes are excellent, not only for mountain standards, but even for city ones. They are constantly busy because they've earned a strong reputation for 17 years in making delicious food. They even have dishes on their menu that I can't get in Denver. We had their orange chicken, kung pao chicken, dumplings, wanton soup, and egg rolls, which was enough food for 4 adults and one kid. There were no leftovers and even their homemade sauces were saved for next time. They added teas to their drinks and I highly recommend the mixed berry. Due to Covid and the crazy world we're in, hours are limited and it's take out only until further notice. Be prepared for a small wait. As soon as they opened on a Saturday, the phone was ringing off the hook and there was a line. It's worth it! read more

While I can't tell you how this restaurant's food tastes, I can tell you that when we placed our pick-up order, they said it would take an hour to prepare and they'd call when it was ready. That part went smoothly. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the total price they wanted to charge us was significantly higher than the prices quoted on the online menu. Turns out, there are two sets of prices posted--one on Google and Yelp and another menu with much higher, and current, prices on their Facebook page. We only became aware of the discrepancy when we arrived to pick up the order. This is a problem that should be corrected. Until then, beware. read more

This is the only Chinese restaurant in the area and it of course gets repeat business, but the fried rice and the spring rolls were very bland. The entrees come with so many giant chunk veggies instead of the meat, the price point also is a little steep for the portions. Great food. The ingredients were very fresh. Vegetables were crunchy. The sauce on the beef and scallops was a delicious brown sauce -- YUM! There was a sign on the door warning that they were short of staff, so to please be patient. Soon after we got there every table filled up. Overall the meal didn't take all that long. And they brought soup out within 3 min of ordering, so that helped stave off the hunger. We had a good experience here. The owner is very vivacious and takes the orders. Nice personality. read more

Who would have thought that you would find such good Chinese food in a little town. The atmosphere is nothing great and it doesn't feel all that clean. The servers are all friendly and quick to serve you. We started out with potstickers, which were very good. An order of 6 with a nice sauce. I had wonton soup and my husband had hot and sour. Both soups were very good. We ordered cashew chicken and a combination lo mein which had chicken, beef and shrimp. The cashew chicken was very different than I have every had as there were loads more vegetables, but the flavor was good and the order was large. The lo mein was super! The flavor was exceptional and there were plenty of meats. I LOVE hot food, and these dishes all came out steaming hot, freshly prepared so that is a big plus for me. Prices were slightly higher than I would have expected, but the portions are so large that you have enough left over for another whole meal. If the restaurant was cleaner, I would have gone for 5 stars. There were people with dogs in there, and although I am a dog lover, I am not fond of them in a restaurant. read more

The egg rolls were different than those we were used to, either a different wrapper or cooking method, but were so much better! So fresh and crispy. And the dumplings! The menu is comprehensive, and they have everything you'd want at an American Chinese food restaurant. We picked a seafood and a chicken entree. The stir-fries are quite saucy, but I think the extra sauce makes the rice taste better and makes for great leftovers when reheated. I don't have photos or a check-in to prove I was dining in Pearl Dragon in Granby, but we dined in late at night after a long days worth of site seeing and decided this place is the one. Yes, the 5 stars are real and authentic from everyone. We found parking in a lot, walked in, waited one hour of take out, because the owner was very verbal about being short staffed and Covid hit. Dining was closed! We did agree that an hour can fly by, so we sat in the front patio. First off, our food came out in 30 minutes tops. We ate our food in the front patio and I'm still craving this wonderful food to this day! We got Fried Wonton Chips, which were unique and delicious. Order the Wonton Soup, because in September nights, it got pretty chilly and this soup warmed us up all the way. We enjoyed digging out the wontons at the bottom of the soup and the broth of the soup was superb! We got the basic Sweet and Sour Chicken, and it was soooo crunchy! We noticed that the Fried Rice had little mini shrimp in it and pineapple chunks. Bell peppers, onions and carrots were also in the rice and it was just a mouthful. It was sooo good that the rest of my parties that we're planning on camping up with us ended up ordering from Pearl Dragon because we did recommend it to them as well. read more

Love this place. We own a condo up here in Granby and every-time we stay we get Chinese takeout from the pearl dragon. The food is always super good the only downside is everything is fried in cashew oil and my sister is deathly allergic to cashews so she can't eat it. But it is typical for Chinese food to be fried in cashew oil so not there fault lol. Overall really good just on the more expensive scale. The service is always good as well even if they are only doing takeout right now but the lady working is always friendly. read more
