And I will say, five stars is fully deserved. The Maya Hookah Lounge is located behind the Maya hotel, with an ocean view. They have a giant fire pit that was really pleasant to sit by. When we got there, it was practically dead. There was one other group of three besides my boyfriend and I. The guy working was so nice and helpful. We were a top priority and we felt it. After a while, it started to get busier but that didn't stop the awesome service we received. There were only two employees working last night and they were top notch. The girl was super sweet and brought new coals over to us without us even asking. The guy checked up on us frequently, making sure we didn't need anything. They both made themselves very available to us. The hookah part of the experience was also amazing. We ordered the AK-47 flavor. It was soooo yummy. I don't think I have ever had a smoother flavor. And it lasted so long. We were there for probably about two hours and by the time we left, our smoke was still so strong. One more thing that really stood out to me was that, they are linked to a restaurant but do not work for the restaurant. However, that didn't stop them from asking us if we would like anything and going and ordering it for us (and bringing it to us) when they didn't even work at the restaurant.(we ordered the Mayan Quesadilla and it was phenomenal. Pricey but I highly recommend it) They were so kind and accommodating. The views were awesome, the vibe was so fun, and the people were really freaking good at their jobs. The service was wonderful.. I was even called "ma'am" and the staff were super respectful/ polite. That's about the only impressive part of this place to me. They also validate parking (you'll have to pay $2 at the booth) The only issue is that I was looking forward to being able to see downtown Long Beach and the bridge lit up with the different colored lights, but the area we sat in (by the large fire pit) had hedges that blocked the wonderful view. The hookah is WAY overpriced! I paid $84 for two hookahs (including a 15% tip), which could've paid for 4 more times at a lounge I frequent elsewhere. And the lounge, to me, is just a patio with chairs, tables and a metal table that has their flavors in tupperware. There is a screen blocking the table from view of the customers. read more

I came here for the first time last night with a couple friends just to relax for an hour or so. I'm not an avid hookah smoker so this review is just my raw experience. It's a little difficult to find if you're not familiar with the hotel. The hookah lounge is actually located in the Fuego bar/restaurant downstairs in the outside seating area. There's a sign outside around the corner of the front entrance but it doesn't really help at all because it's nowhere near the actual lounge. They validate parking for $2 which is really nice otherwise it's $10 for an hour and then you have to pay for 20 minute increments. The view is GORGEOUS! We went around 10pm and the bridge was lit and you get a beautiful waterfront view of downtown Long Beach. I'm not a regular smoker so idk how expensive coals are, but 3 of us shared one flavor. They gave us 2 coals and we each got our own mouthpiece but that came out to $27. If you check in on yelp you get a $2 off coupon but the waiter seemed a little confused by it, still they honored the discount which was cool. I'd go again just for the view but the price is a little too expensive for me. read more

Do not waste your time coming to this place. First of all it's in a hotel and nobody even knows where the hookah lounge is. The staff sends you to 5 different places and they say the place doesn't open depending on the weather. When we finally found the place after 20 mins they told us they had no where to seat us. Mind you, we waited for 10 EXTRA minutes waiting to be assisted. You have to pay to park as well. I would just stay away from this place. It's hard to find, entire staff seems like it's their first day working there and just as confused as us. read more
