I've never had my eyebrows threaded but always heard that it looks great but hurts like hell. Well, I had 4 hours to kill and if you've ever been to Whittier you would understand why trying threading out seemed like something fun to do. It was definitely a different experience but my eyebrows look great. It wasn't painful at all (then again my tolerance is high so I don't know) and it was very quick. And cheap! 7 bucks? I am so glad to have found a threading place close to home. Thanks Lib. I used to get my eyebrows threaded by my hairdresser who did an awesome job. In between dye jobs I'd wax or tweeze myself. Being that I stopped going to her, and I'd feel like a major doofus going back to just get the brows done, I've sort of neglected my brows. I wax here and there, but I've been too lazy. So, finding this place was great. First thing I noticed when I walked in was how clean the place is. The ladies were extremely nice and were very quick. I think I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Not to mention that her technique made the process less painful than previously endured. Most people, when threading, and this could be lack of experience, tie a string around their neck and use that string for more leverage. The lady that threaded me just used her hands. And she was very quick. My fear is always that I will sit up and my eyebrows will be FUBAR. (See my Scandalous review.) Luckily, I sat up and she had cleaned up by brows just like I like them. :) I will definitely be going back. They also gave me a frequent guest punch card so that the 10th threading is free. I have only gone here twice, but it's a solid 4 star or 4.5 when I have...$7 eyebrows I have usually visited another local threading place that is $5 but this place give me a better shape which is worth the extra $2...I'm still a fan of the other place if you want to stay in the uptown area. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've been to Kut N Beauty (next door) and never returned for their waxing or threading services. I've never left Maya feeling unsatisfied! The prices literally can't be beat ($25 for whole face?!) and the service is great. I'm 3 months pregnant and just left for a bikini and butt wax and they were amazingly gentle and caring. Kiran is awesome and after having her services a few times, I don't think I would settle for anyone else (she's there wed/fri/sat). read more

I've been coming here since high school. The lady that is in Station #1 is my go to, my eyebrows are always on point. But unfortunately today, the lady that I usually go to was on Vacation so I went with Kindy, she was very sweet! i recently took my daughter there (for the first time) to get her eyebrows threaded and her upper lip waxed. Eyebrows were ok, but she burnt my daughter when she waxed her upper lip. I will never take her back. It looks so bad!! read more

NEVER AGAIN. The place I usually go to had absolutely no parking so I had to settle for Maya again. I told the lady to just clean up my eyebrows; I do not even know if there is a word to describe what she did to them. She thinned them out, gave them a triangular shape and made one shorter than the other...that doesn't sound like 'just cleaning them up' to me. OMG! I should have known this was a shady place when the lady asked me what I wanted...I said eyebrows and lip and she told me to only put eyebrows on their sign in sheet. The lady was so rough with my eyebrows! She didn't put anything before or after the threading. I've had my eyebrows threaded for 10 yrs and have never been in this much pain. When I got home I looked and I counted at least 6 spots where she cut me !!!! To top it off there was still hair there! My eyebrows were literally bleeding everywhere. Please save yourself pain, $$$, and blood and stay FAR FAR away from this place. read more

Pay attention to your customers and it's rude to speak in your native language in front of customers. You messed up my right eyebrow and made me bleed, never ever going here again. I am sticking to the one in Monterey Park, this shop is cheaper but not better! read more

This is the worst place for threading of any kind on the whole city of whittier! Like the other customer said I too went there since it's close to home, in the shopping center I frequent. . I arrived 30 min before closimg, as soon as I walked in the lady said I already have customers waiting, you need to come back tomorrow, without even asking what service I needed, I actually had the Gaul to return today, Thier t.v was on, lights on and the door was locked in the middle of the afternoon! No excuse for locking the doors during business hrs. The only reason why I came here was because it was close to work and I had to have my brows done. The lady here is rude because when I came in she was on her cell phone and told me to sit down, I did and she was still talking on her phone and I told her I would wait until she finished. She hung up and began to do my brows she was very rude and rough, she never asked how I was doing she finished and told me how much it was and nothing more. Worst customer service ever!!! read more

The eyebrow and facial hair removal is fine, but DO NOT GET A FACIAL here! It is too expensive and far below basic. I could smell the generic brand witch hazel and I thought the smell of cucumber was familiar at the end. I was so upset when I finished getting dressed and saw the pump on the table; She had applied VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE hand and body lotion, of course I broke up that same night, agh!! read more

I've been going here to get my eyebrows done for some time now. Lately it's always the same lady there, there used to be other ladies that did a pretty good job of shaping my eyebrows. But now it's just always the same lady and she does a lousy job. She never shapes my eyebrows the way I like them and this last time was it for me. Each of my eyebrows were shaped differently. Alright this place didn't get one star because I still have all my eye brows ... But yes this place is not the best ... Yes the ladies there are very quiet and there is no customer service ... When you sit in the chair they don't but a light napkin to place your head down.... There is no sense of compassion for pain they just dig in ... No they do not cut the top of the brow with scissors and no your not getting cream and a mini massage at the end ... $7 eye brows and $5 for upper lip ... Not pleased with the quality either ... Great place near home. I have always had full eyebrows and have been threading for over 10 years, so I know experienced threaders from newbies. The lady in booth 3 is awsome and very experienced. She totally listens to all my request and is fast and accurate. They also have a stamp card for regulars, which gets you a free eyebrow threading after every 10 visits. I can't speak for all the ladies there and to be honest one day I went and lady #3 (sorry I am bad with names) wasn't there so I went to someone else which I didn't like. So if you go definitely ask for Lady #3! read more

The lady here did my eyebrows way too thin. The thread they use is also very harsh on your skin. Go somewhere else.

Used to always come here, was ok, ladies were nice, but the last couple times I've gone over they're closed and the sign says they should be open. Need to find a more reliable threading shop. Won't be going there anymore read more

I've been here 3 times, the first time the lady did a good job so I came back, only the second time the older woman attended me (they are 2),She left my eyebrows super thin, she worked like she was on a rush.. Now on my third time here and the first woman not available, I told this woman (second) that I wanted to let my eyebrows grow out (since last time she messed up..) which she acknowledged. Well.. This time she left me with almost with no eyebrows! I'm so mad right now!! She left me with no shape, uncoordinated, thin and horrible looking eyebrows!!!! The place was empty, there was no excuse to give me this horrible service that I'm paying for. Is going to take me a while for my eyebrows to get full since I already don't have much.
