We tried several beach clubs on our trip to Isla and the Mayan by FAR was our favorite!! There's nothing about it to not love!! Location is great, breathtaking view, superb service!!, delicious food, clear and refreshing water -- Mayan has it all!! There is no cover charge for the chairs, but there is a minimum spend on food and/or drinks. But you're going to eat and drink anyway so that is easy. You do need to make reservations and arrive early! Taste of Isla website is a great way to handle this. Make your reservations, go early and you are sure to have an awesome time!!! read more

This restaurant had came along with our boat tour, so we had got to eat the buffet once we arrived to the island. The buffet had a lot of different options and it was unlimited but you had 90 minutes long to eat. If you wanted extra stuff you had to buy it. The restaurant was very clean and service was great. The prices for other items were decent. I enjoyed the tacos with the chicken option and the rice. The food was for sure fulfilling. read more

Take me back!!! My sister and I spent this Christmas in Mexico and ended up here after a sail on catamaran. It was around lunch time which mean primetime for some sun. I loved the setup they had. you could do a beach bed or lounge on beach couches. We got the couches and just lounged. We ordered brisket and shrimp tacos. The brisket was mighty tasty. I can't speak for the shrimp, but it's safe to say that they were good b/c she cleaned her plate. A couple of margaritas and mojitos is...and we were in our happy place. If you're even in Isla Mujeres, come here...good food, good service, and beach what more could you ask for. read more

Nautibeach 33 I hate writing a bad review, but I felt I had to let people considering going to nautibeach know what they were getting into. The pictures LIE! We have been traveling to the Cancun/Playa Del Carmen area for 20 years and have stayed at many properties: both condos and all inclusives and this was the worst place we have ever experienced. We paid in full for 5 nights and after arriving around 4pm the first day we knew we couldn't stay. The condo/pool area/location of condo/beach/ EVERYTHING was run down. We contacted another resort and left at 6am the next morning as quickly as we could. After contacting the rental company we were refunded $0. When we arrived, we were dismayed at the state of nautibeach. The security is a joke and basically non existent. The condo is NOT on the beach but behind buildings on all sides. There is NO ocean view. The complex itself is rundown, with holes in the walls exposing pipes and wires. The pool area was another disappointment. Run down with pool tiles missing and was MUCH SMALLER than the pictures showed. Our biggest disappointment, and the main reason we decided to leave was as we were looking for the restaurant on site, we found it to be a pile of rubble. Apparently they are rebuilding the entire thing and the construction noise was unbearable. The construction is happening right by the beach chairs so as you can imagine there was ZERO relaxation to be had with jackhammers 5 feet from the beach chairs. Also, the beach is TINY filled with boats and beat up chairs read more

Our friends 50th birthday she made arrangements earlier in the day for us to arrive at around 8:30. She requested the table with on the beach. As you can see they do a great job. You're literally 4 to 10 steps from the ocean . The kitchen shut at nine, but when we showed up, they had a beautiful table set and took a great care of us. We just ordered some apps and a few little mock tails. we got the coconut shrimp which was just out of the coil which melted in your mouth and the shrimp dumplings could've done without them. They really didn't taste like shrimp and had sauce with berries in it. It was very unique, but I just wouldn't order it again. I ordered the watermelon strawberry basil drink, and our waiter was just absolutely fantastic. They come in two and three at a time and drop stuff off and even put your napkin in your lap. Every time we come here they take really good care of us if you ever have a special event I highly suggest you make an arrangement here. It'll be very special. read more

Great atmosphere and a beautiful view of the ocean, but the breakfast was not good and it took a very long time to get our food. The huevos rancheros was presented with a soggy tortilla and a completely uncooked egg that was not edible. Also, mimosa's are overpriced. Sadly, we would not return. read more

Took a ferry over on a whim to celebrate our anniversary and came upon the Mayan Beach Club. Beach chairs and umbrellas are included if you commit to spending at least $30 a person. We thought that was a very good deal when we knew we would be eating and drinking. Perfect set up and my grilled shrimp were delicious!! read more

We went for dinner and to watch the sunset. Nice location and fancy table setting with white tablecloth and napkins..and that's where it ends. The service was really horrible because the waiter and his manager had no clue what each item on the menu had in it. They kept going back to the kitchen and returning with yet incomplete information. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. The prices are at least twice to 2.5 times higher than other good restaurants on the island. They charged us for one side even though we were told that we can get two sides. The pepper encrusted tuna was over peppered and very dry. For 585 pesos ($35) I thought it would be an amazing dish. I asked for some sauce and they said the dish doesn't come with any. This is a place that you really want to avoid. There are many much better places to eat on the island at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of this ripoff and substandard restaurant. read more

Great ambience and view but the food (octopus dish) was terribly overcooked and chewy and the service, despite not being busy with lots of wait staff just standing around, was very sub par. Over the length of our 1.5 hour lunch we were never offered additional drinks or water or checked on in any way after the food was delivered. Then when I tipped 10% (which felt like too much) I was asked to increase my tip to 15%. Not going back. read more

It was a tad bit difficult to find, but once we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect. It was breezy and sunny to the point where the overheads shaded us. We ordered a variety of dishes from the octopus on grill, octopus and pork, seafood tower, soup, and the pina coladas. The food looked just as good it tasted, very delicious. The octopus was perfectly cooked, not too chewy. The octopus and pork dish was slightly oily, but well-balanced with the vegetables. The seafood platter was one of our favorites as it came with a large variety of shrimp and fish that paired perfectly with the fruits and cold vegetables. The octopus on the grill dish looked stunning and was definitely filling. Overall, the portions of the food were amazing for the price. Food slightly lacked a hit of flavor, but the sauces they provide make up for it. Our waiter, Cantu, was so incredibly patient with our party of 6 and made our experience so fun. He cracked jokes with us and made sure to check up on us often. I highly recommend this location for its food, great prices, waiters, and breathtaking views. read more

Yes - Do it! I stayed here alllll day without an issue. The chair and the umbrella is "free" with a minimum spend of 300 pesos which is about $14. (The place next door that begins with the letter T was about 50 pesos more) I didn't have to worry about tracking someone down whenever I wanted to order something. More importantly the restroom was decent. The restroom is more of the actual hotel that the restaurant is connected to and I saw them cleaning it at least twice while I was there. The food was okay at best, just eat later or bring some snacks. The drinks were good - just bring some liquor in your day bag if you know that you're someone who needs a super strong drink and spike when needed. Catch the early ferry to the island, everyone's chair and umbrellas are typically gone/occupied after noon/12:30pm. They change shifts at 5:00 so be prepared to close out your tab if you got there early. read more

Great spot! Miguel and Alexis took great care of us at the bar. They had great live music and great views of the water from swing seats at the bar. Miguel is a Max scientist when it comes to making drinks. He has a wide knowledge of mescales and other traditional Mexican spirits. We stayed Nautibeach hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find out the Mayan was the place we had immediate access to every day. Their breakfast was very delicious! I had the omelet every day I was there and I substituted my salad for the papas bravas. My husband has the Benedict eggs - delicious too! We had some very strong mimosas. For lunch I had the fish tacos. The sauce that comes with them is so good! We tried the chicken nachos and the wings and they were both tasty. My husband had their burger and loved it. We had some margaritas but my favorite drink was their piña colada. It was so smooth!! The service was great. Everyone really makes you feel like they are there to help you in any way possible and it's so nice. We had our 1 year old daughter and everyone at the facility was always kind to her. It's refreshing to see people embrace your children instead of rolling their eyes when they see you have a child. Thank you to the Mayan, I will definitely send everyone your way! read more

Ok so interesting enough this was one our FAVORTIE place to eat and also our LEAST FAVORITE PLACE to eat! Here is why Their lunch was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING but their Dinner was a total fail! So let me give you both experiences: Lunch: Best Shrimp tacos and ceviche we had ! It's off the beach and such great service! We also got a Cheleda with a tecate! 10/10 recommend ! I left feeling so happy and was hands down the best meal we had the entire trip! Dinner: Their menu completely changes for dinner. It's more of a fancy dinner you could say. We got the Surf and Turf , it's supposed to be filet mignon but it was really just a skirt steak rolled up. The lobster was nothin to rave about. And the service during this time was definitely the worst we had. I'm still giving them a high rating because the sunset at dinner was fire! Very romantic! Overall I would come back for lunch but will skip their dinner . read more

Stay away, this place is a rip off! My son only eats plain spaghetti, so we always carry our own. Our waiter informed us that they have spaghetti and can prepare it plain. The portion was very small (about 3 forkfuls) and they charged us $22. We ordered 2 margaritas & $165 each according to the menu. On our bill they charged us $195 each. When I questioned our waiter, he told me that by law they're only allowed to serve premium margaritas. The food was good, so I don't see the need to rip off customers. I'll never return because it's an insult to get ripped off so blatantly! read more

Excellent service, location and food! We had a large group, accommodated us right away, service was very good, attentive and fast. Food was delicious and fresh we had many different dishes (mostly seafood) all fresh and tasty. Drinks were excellent. We had piña coladas, mango smoothies, and beers. All served icy cold. Prices are incredibly affordable and unlike other beach clubs, your consumption "credit" gives you a beach lounger and umbrella. Other beach clubs wanted to charge us more for chairs and umbrellas and food and drinks are separate charges. We all loved it and will be back!! read more

We stayed at the adjacent condo, ate breakfast here twice; lunch, snacks, and margs many times; and dinner once. The place gets transformed from beach club during the day to upscale, atmospheric beachfront dining at night. The chef is truly skilled and the servers are extremely personable. The one thing preventing a 5 star review is dinner costs, which are high not only for the island. Relatedly, the way they price lobster is not at all transparent and led to a very expensive lobster dinner for one (2000 pesos or about $100). Would have appreciated more straightforward pricing. This being said, you should really go here if on the island-for whatever meal or snacks! read more

Made reservations for 4 chairs mid March. Showed up a couple days later and we were told the price was changed. OK no problem, I asked our server if they give the drink/food credit for each person. He confirmed that we still would get it. Later when we got the bill, the credit was not on there. Got the manager involved, what a rude and belligerent person. Trust me when I say, these people have no business sense or formal business training whatsoever. All he wanted to do was argue with us instead of honoring what his server had promised. This place was really clean and nice! Customer service was great, it's alittle more expensive than anywhere else of the island but it was worth it! I am not a fan of seafood and the fish tacos were great! Did not taste like fish at all. Cocktails were also good. Nachos were a big portion and also good!
