Was staying at Ixchel hotel, which is a short walk away. We had a great server and enjoyed a delicious, filling breakfast. I'm a fan of their spicy habanero sauce. The drinks were good as well. Even better, after leaving, you can walk down to the beach and start your day!
Always a great breakfast. Service is always really good. Outdoor seating in the shade and feels great. One of the have to hit places.
Fun spot near the beach. Cool greenery all around the place - made it feel more private and off the beaten path. Food felt very fresh! Chicken sandwiches came with a tasty side salad full of fresh veggies! Service was very friendly and quick to offer help when needed.
Food is so delicious. It truly is a garden. Great options for vegetarian diets. I had the juevos rancheros and the small fruit plate along with jugo verde. The prices are reasonable and service is great. The dining experience is wonderful and surrounded by palms, pothos, banana trees and more. Highly recommend for a visit while in Isla Mujures.
So I just love Northgarden, it is connected to the bakery and grill guard office block. They are all owned by the same owner Fernando. Fernando is an amazing sweet man that runs wonderful establishments. His staff is so well trained to be so friendly welcoming and helpful. I literally get hugs when I walk to this location. Today I went with a friend after yoga and we really went all out. We had the green juice and coffee and a fruit plate to share and then we each ordered breakfast. I had the Benedict and she had the omelette. There was a ton of goat cheese in her omelette. And the veggies looked lovely. The bacon on the Benedict is always so crispy & yummy and the hollandaise sauce is always perfect. The setting is garden and open air and very comfortable with lots of tables upstairs and downstairs. They're only open until three and they're closed on Tuesdays. For the record the entire breakfast was less than $25. The friend I was with was from LA so I'm sure you can imagine how much she appreciated this. Considering once again we went all out. You can get a breakfast here for $10.15 with coffee. Just a wonderful place that I will return to time and time again and I hope you do too.

Definitely enough for 2 people to share. The service was great. Everyone was warm and welcoming. The place was pretty busy when we went, but we were still able to be seated right away.
Best service in Isla! Quick and friendly, affordable and a quick walk to north beach. We shared a spinach bagel crispy style, and it was one of my favorite meals in Mexico. Love the spicy sauce! Beautiful boho environment.
What an unexpected find! We were in the area for our honeymoon and one of our family members recommended a place but couldn't remember the name of the restaurant. We searched online and asked if it was North Garden. They said that sounded right. So we stopped in and sat down, but it actually wasn't the restaurant they had recommended! We were very hungry and their menu looked really good so we stayed. I'm so glad we did!!! Out of the seven days that we were in the area, North Garden ended up being our favorite meal of the entire trip! We started off with a coconut smoothie and a strawberry lemonade. Both were incredibly delicious. The guacamole was very fresh and the chips were cooked perfectly. We decided on the steak tacos and the chicken tacos for our main entrée. It was the freshest food we had on the whole trip and the flavors were outstanding. They put crispy cheese on the outside of the tortillas and it really gave it a great flavor. And the cherry on top was the great service! Although we ended up in the "wrong" location, it was the best lunch mistake ever! We had the best food and service. We're now giving everyone the recommendation to go there instead of the place our family recommended. When we return, we know where our first stop is, North Garden!

Food was delicious and the staff were super friendly, they hung out chatting with us while our food was prepared. Recommend stopping here first if you're headed to the beach where the eateries aren't as good. Docked a star because the ladies restroom needed major attention read more

North Garden breakfast never disappoints. Deliciously fresh food, beautiful presentation, and amazing service. The atmosphere is very chill, it almost feels like you're in a tropical tree house. All of their dishes are well seasoned and generously portioned at fair prices. I highly recommend them! read more

We stumbled across this restaurant while visiting Isla Mujeres. We broke our "never eat at the same place twice on vacation" rule to come back twice, the food was so good. The first time, we had a bit of a wait because it was busy but we were eventually sat upstairs. it felt like we were sitting in a jungle, it was amazing. It was definitely hot as it is an outdoor venue but they had a couple of fans going which helped. We had a delicious hueveos ranchero dish that we both really enjoyed. Our server gave us a bunch of tips for finding sea glass on the island and other places to enjoy meals. He was very enjoyable to talk to, kind, and efficient. The second time, our service was not as good or attentive but the food was amazing. I had the pineapple seafood dish and it was not only appealing to look at it, it tasted amazing. Every bite was like a burst of flavor exploding in my mouth. The seafood was plentiful, moist, and flavorful. There were so many things to choose from the menu that looked good that I had a hard time deciding but overall, my dish was amazing and I was happy I chose it. I would absolutely go back if I was ever on the island again. read more

I've been to the North Garden many times (about 10) and it always slaps. 10/10 recommend. - the environment: amazing decoration, makes you feel like you're eating in a treehouse and it's nice and cool, shaded from the sun. It's right next to Playa Norte so convenient to eat before/after a nice day at the beach - service: everyone is friendly and the food/check come out in a timely manner. Pablo, Luis, Oscar, and Kiki are so nice! Plus the restaurant takes credit card. - food: amazing! The only dish I do not recommend is the huevos rancheros (too bland, can get better at other places). The pancakes were all amazing, the hotcakes trio is a fantastic mix of food, the granola fruit platter is a lighter option, and the bagel sandwiches are huge and tasty. - drinks: also 10/10. Must try the passion fruit mojito. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. read more

We had a party of 8 for dinner. The food was great. Portion size and quality were one of the better places on the island. It is an outdoor restaurant so you may want to consider watching the weather. A big storm blew up right after we finished dinner. The staff did their best to keep us dry and have fun. read more

Nice little hideaway for great breakfast! Good strong coffee to wake you up! I had the made on premises giant delicious bagel with egg, bacon cheese and trimmings. The wife had stuffed french toast which was delicious! Great friendly service. Hope to return on our next trip to Isla Mujeres ! read more

we had breakfast on our last full morning here this morning, it was great! our server was very helpful and kind as well. the menu translated prices for us, and the food was so delicious. my party of 5 all tried variations of the pancakes. the ambiance and location were exceptional as well! some of the most beautiful kept plants were held here. I would definitely come back if my trip didn't end so soon. read more
Huge huge portions! A very standard American breakfast Location: near the beach so it's convenient. The interior was nice, filled with lots of plants Food: the fruit plate was nicely presented. The salmon Benedict with squid ink was my favorite! While the pancakes was a disappointment. It was over cooked so it was dry. It taste a bit burnt, like we were eating off the burnt pan. Some reviews are meant to be believed! I punched in breakfast and this was one of the highest rated places we had not ventured to yet. It was so worth the drive from Punta Sur. If you are walking from the ferry, it's about a 15-20 minute walk. We were driving. It's towards The Green Demon. We arrived about 8:20 and were promptly seated. The venue opens at 7 and it had a steady crowd already. I always ask the waiter for recommendations. They know what's good, right? The waiter recommended the chilaquiles, which I was hesitant about. I've had them before and I wasn't impressed although they were good. He said it was large so my mom, who nudged me to try them again, shared them. One word - wow! It was seamless and not overly saucy. You need to add nothing. No salt. No pepper. No spices, unless you want to. Everything perfectly complimented each other from the chips, sauce, eggs, steak and seasonings. It was indeed large. We still had some left over to go. Another plus, the drinks - the coffee was the best my mom has had on the island. She was getting really discouraged because she is a coffee person. Her day doesn't start without coffee so this pleased me that she found delight in her whole breakfast. I ordered a passion fruit lemonade and it was so refreshing with a perfect balance of sweet and tart. I think I will order another to go. As many others have said - this is go to place for breakfast. When in a Mexico, try to eat local specialities and ask for recommendations. I highly recommend the chilaquiles. You won't be disappointed. I hope this review cwas helpful. So good I came back the next day! Everything was top notch - the atmosphere, the service, and the food! My favorite thing I got there was the Pecan Benedict...dang, so good. Perfectly poached eggs and a great balance of hollandaise sauce, spinach, and bacon. I left nothing on my plate. For lunch, I did the tuna fish tostadas. My first bite was amazing. So fresh and again the ingredients came together so well and it looked beautiful. My one complaint - it was too big. It came with two tostadas loaded up. I could've done 1 with a side of vegetables or something else. I wish I could've gotten one of their sandwiches, too. They are huge and looked delicious. To drink, I got their mint lemonade - like other things, loved it! Great price for what you get! There is a great bakery that the restaurant uses right next door. I would highly recommend checking them out, too. The man who served me was so kind and my chai and baked goods were great! Overall, North Garden is far north of the competition. read more

Do not let the cute outside decor fool you, the food was terrible. I ordered the French toast, but it wasn't actually French toast. The bread was a baguette with dried up old coconut shavings. An absolute disappointment. Avoid. read more

I don't know how to choose between 3 and 4 stars. Mine was good but how hard is Fried Fish tacos?! Friend got a salad (on the cutting board) and did not like it. Mom got brisket tacos - very good but kind of overpriced for what we can get in Texas compared to Mexico. Friends really wanted to go here so I made reservations and not sure why it's considered "hot new joint" on the island. Great atmosphere and ambiance though with waterfalls, nice restrooms and a cute dog to greet people walking by in the daylight hours. 3.5 stars - I was dining with a classically trained executive chef so take this for what you will... read more

We had a delicious breakfast this morning under the beautiful foliage at this open air gem just off North Beach. The key I think here is to SHARE meals and I'm so glad we did just that. The chilaquiles were so flavorful and the portion was huge! We had the small fruit plate as well and it was more than enough for the two of us. The coffee, one hot and one iced, was perfect. Luis was our server and everyone in the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. They have a vast menu of drinks for a little later in the day.
