I first tried Mayas at Taste of Cincinnati and was immediately hooked! Just ordered again from DoorDash and I can confirm it is just as good the second time around. The chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan are by far the best I've had; you can tell they spend a lot of time infusing flavor into the chicken itself and not just the sauce (although that sings by itself as well). I also took a chance and ordered something new, the Paneer Papadi Chat, and was pleasantly surprised. It's like nothing I've ever had before, but comforting at the same time. Whatever the crunchy bits are (samosa dough pieces maybe?), they're absolutely fantastic in breaking up the soft potato texture. My food also arrived still hot, which I found impressive since it travelled from Delhi to Covington. 12/10 absolutely my favorite Indian food in Cincy, and I don't think that'll be changing any time in the near future!

I got to try Mayas when they brought a food truck to Opera in the Park this weekend. The food smelled wonderful and the taste, perfect. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan and it was terrific. A number of people stopped to see what I was eating and where I got it. When I told them they ran to get their own! Now having tried Mayas, I can't wait to give their restaurant a try!

This place really did not look like much from the outside; they had some parking spaces in the back but I skipped them because of the potholes. The inside was small, but nicely decorated. While there were other people eating there, this place seemed to be doing a ton of takeout. The crowd was very Cincinnati; when you see someone with dubious facial piercings holding the door open politely for everyone else that got their takeout first, you know you're in the Midwest. I got a choley bhatura. I disagree with their choice of how to serve it; the dish is nominally chickpea curry with bread for dipping, but they give rice too, which is redundant and is a bunch of unnecessary carbs. I'd prefer they had some more traditional accompaniments (like onions, chili peppers, lemon, mango pickle, these are common). Still, the chickpeas I got on a high spice level delivered on flavor and did make me sweat a bit, and the bread was fresh and delicious. The milk tea I added tasted more like actual tea than a lot of such beverages do. I find myself thinking that they are probably popular for takeout for a reason, as it was fresh and satisfying.

    9. Chicken Makhani

This place is very unassuming from the outside but so quaint and homey on the inside. The food was amazing and so full of flavor. We had the curry chicken, chicken makhani and plain naan. Can't wait to come back and try other items off the menu!

Me annoyed after a lame experience. Luckily better restaurants exist and will take you. 9:05 on a Friday night is "too late". Haha.

Walked by after hearing great things from the place and I saw their window sign say 11-10 everyday, closed Monday. I was making plans after I saw that to come there. Me and my dad were trying to squeeze in a dinner date when we both were busy beforehand, we thought arriving at 9:05 and them closing at 10 wasn't wild, we can order, have food in 20 mins, eat in 15 and be gone with 10 minutes before close. Walked in at 9:05 and were told to leave or get take out only. Not a professional way to run a company, do better, change your sign, be clear on your hours. These are basic requests. Food might be delicious(I couldn't try it) but the owners are just not professionals in the slighest. Extremely disappointed.

Excellent food and the owner is incredibly kind. It's very small but a cozy atmosphere. Most do carry out. I highly recommend Mayas!

Ordered an Hour and a half ago. Still no sign of food, literally live right around the corner. Wife found a staple in her meal. Beware.

Service is still slow but the food is so good and it's close so I just know to order it and be prepared to be later than it says.

Best Indian in the city. We've tried a lot of places and lucked out with the best one being 10 minutes from home.

Is this location still open ? We received coupons in the mail yesterday that said new location and only listed an address on Ludlow. I really hope it's just another location for them!

We have another location on Ludlow now but still the older one is at west 8th street

More people came in but the restaurant was pretty empty all evening. Our server, Rachel was very friendly and helpful, going over the menu and made sure our waters were filled and we had what we needed throughout the evening. I asked her opinion between two cocktails and went with her suggestion of the chai espresso martini which was delicious! We started with the sourdough bread that came with treacle and honey butter which I thought would be more remarkable, if pretty much tasted like run of the mill butter. For dinner, my husband and I split the pachadi salad and the short rib vindaloo. The salad was crunchy and fresh and very flavorful, I would definitely get it again. The vindaloo was good but I would probably choose something else next time.

When I went to make the reservation, I found that that if we show up with 3 instead of 4 we would pay a $20 per PERSON fee. I have heard of no-show fees for a whole missed reservation, but a missing person is offensive. Do I get a discount if my service is slow because a server called in sick? What if the entree I came in for is sold out? I bet not. We were able to find a table at a different restaurant that puts an emphasis on the experience, not the profit times seats times turns equation. It's a shame. I liked the food here, but a policy like that puts in on my no-go list.
