Food taste was good. It's shown open till 12:30 but only does take away after 10:30 PM. Portion size was enough for 2 people. Garlic Butter nan and mutter Paneer was great. Kadhai paneer was not that good. It was more tomato based gravy.

Dined in on a Sunday evening and had wonderful, incredibly attentive service. Our server didn't let our water glasses drop to halfway! Mixed thoughts from the group I dined here with. The trio of dips were very tasty, they seemed more homemade than others I have had elsewhere. We enjoyed the Keema and Vegetable samosas. The Dal soup was so flavorful but definitely had a kick of spice to it. The Aloo Saag was not the best we've ever had - it tasted like it had gotten burnt from sitting in a pot for too long. Sadly, not a dish we wanted leftovers of! :( I did enjoy the Saag Choley, always a nice comforting meal. The spice levels weren't as high as some in my group had hoped for; my brother love spicy food and asked for a 5/6, but it really wasn't that spicy - he said he would've rated that more like a 3/6. The naan was fine, we ordered the Paneer Naan but there wasn't much cheese in it. Overall, I would give this a 3.5!

One of my favorite spots for Indian! I highly, highly recommend Taj Mahal if you are in the mood for Indian, they do not disappoint. I've been over 5 times now, and each experience has been wonderful and everything is on point. The service is prompt and friendly, and I love that they play Bollywood movies in there to set the vibe. The food is delicious, I highly recommend the chicken makani if you are a fan of butter chicken or chicken tikka masala. The saag paneer (spinach dish) is very good as well. The naan is fluffy and fresh. I don't usually love Gulab Jamon, but theirs is so good! Try it out!

Delicious Indian Food in NKY! I've always been disappointed because I only knew of one other Indian restaurant in NKY, and I've always been disappointed with their food. Was excited to discover this spot! The food - we ordered Lamb Korma, Chicken Mahkani, and Goat Curry. I should have believed the previous reviews - I ordered level 4/6...and it was hot. I probably should have gone for a 3. My roommates both got level 5 as they like spicy, and they said they wouldn't go any spicier - one would back down to a 4. The food was great - the lamb korma was my personal favorite. Garlic Naan was fantastic! The waitress was very friendly, and she did try to warn us she usually doesn't go beyond a 3 spice level. I thought I was braver than I am...but it was still delicious - full of flavor! The place was very clean and pretty empty when we went, but it's right off the street, and downtown Covington is chill. You should check it out!

Look how tiny that entrée bowl is, compared to the massive rice portion. Not worth $18 at all.

Again, I was very excited to try a place and I was a bit of a let-down. To start, I ordered both a paneer makhani entrée and dal soup. Turns out the cook (older gentleman) simply "forgot" to make the dal soup. I enjoyed the paneer makhani and just forgot about the soup. The dish was a small portion of paneer makhani and large dish of white rice. The size difference was extreme. It's pretty cringe worthy when you ask $18 for a small entrée, and just give a "sorry I forgot to make it" regarding the dal soup I ordered. For the small size of the entrée (pictured), it was tasty and clearly homemade. The issue is with the conservative portion, high price, and just forgetting I ordered something. I routinely get a better panner makhani entrée from a competitor for only $15, with a larger portion and better flavors. It's a one and done for me with this restaurant.

It's difficult to believe you can find really good, authentic Indian food in Covington, Kentucky, but this restaurant has it. It's bright and airy, the service is very friendly, the prices are fair and the food is absolutely delicious. Their saag is some of the best I've ever tasted. Give Taj a try. You'll be glad you did.

The worst mango lassi around. They add food coloring to it and it has essentially no flavor.

More people came in but the restaurant was pretty empty all evening. Our server, Rachel was very friendly and helpful, going over the menu and made sure our waters were filled and we had what we needed throughout the evening. I asked her opinion between two cocktails and went with her suggestion of the chai espresso martini which was delicious! We started with the sourdough bread that came with treacle and honey butter which I thought would be more remarkable, if pretty much tasted like run of the mill butter. For dinner, my husband and I split the pachadi salad and the short rib vindaloo. The salad was crunchy and fresh and very flavorful, I would definitely get it again. The vindaloo was good but I would probably choose something else next time.

When I went to make the reservation, I found that that if we show up with 3 instead of 4 we would pay a $20 per PERSON fee. I have heard of no-show fees for a whole missed reservation, but a missing person is offensive. Do I get a discount if my service is slow because a server called in sick? What if the entree I came in for is sold out? I bet not. We were able to find a table at a different restaurant that puts an emphasis on the experience, not the profit times seats times turns equation. It's a shame. I liked the food here, but a policy like that puts in on my no-go list.

Service was great and very friendly. You could tell this place was clean and very well maintained. My husband and I had lunch with a friend. They have a pretty extensive menu but it's not as extensive as a lot of other Indian restaurants. I think they managed to condense it down for most people. I have the chicken tikka McGreb which is close to the masala like stuff but it's full of mushrooms which I just love! The Jasmine rice it came with was also delicious underneath it. It came with garlic naan as well which was super nice because other places we go to, you have to pay more for garlic naan. My husband had more of a fried rice dish that also came with something that has creamy lentils. I can't remember what it is called. But it was delicious! We also shared an appetizer of samosas which came with spicy onions, tamarind, and a delicious green sauce. We finished off lunch with a gulab jamun dessert. The whole place served a great food and we are very much looking forward to coming back!
