Explained that I needed chocolate and it had to be gluten-free - they went above and beyond to do their best to ensure that my scoop was gluten-free. There's never a guarantee because they're not 100% gluten-free - but I feel that they went truly above and beyond Terrific customer service, super cute shop, prices are reasonable, and the ice cream is out of this world! Mayday Ice Cream opened this new location at Jacksonville Beach this week. I stopped in Friday to take advantage of the 50% off all menu items. I walked in and got in line. This location was small with wooden benches on each side and two small tables. There were two freezers on each side stocked with take home items. I waited about 7-10 minutes to be served. I sampled three flavors and fell in love with Blackberry Earl Gray. I ordered one scoop on a waffle cone. The cone was fresh and crisp and the icecream was cold and refreshing. The blackberry flavor was delicious! I found a seat inside and enjoyed my cone. I loved the flavor so much, I decided to buy a pint to take home. The 50% discount was also an encouragement. If you live in or are visiting south Jax Beach, stop in and try a new icecream flavor! read more

After finishing dinner across the parking lot, we spotted a small outposting of Mayday. Open for about a month, this location basically has a counter and two benches for seating. But, they serve up the same fine ice cream and creative flavors as the original location. After seeing a sign at the entrance for midnight chocolate which was chocolate ice cream with brownie bits and cacao nibs, I knew I wanted that. Opting for a split scoop, I wanted something that would pair well with it so I got the tried and true cookies and cream, which they call cookie crush. I also tried the Sunday best banana pudding and the blackberry earl grey. The ice cream at Mayday is excellent! It's so rich and creamy. I love the little waffle "cookie" and sprinkles that are complimentary with each scoop. Prices here are high. In fact, you can get a whole pint of ice cream for what they charge for a single scoop. But, the quality is there. This place appears to have locations popping up all around town so the price it seems is not a deterrent for many. This is definitely premium ice cream! read more

We came here for dessert and everyone in my group enjoyed it. I tried several of my friends ice cream flavors, and my two favorites were vanilla followed by cookie crush. They also have non traditional ice cream flavors too, such as key lime pie, coffee & donuts, and Sunday best banana pudding. It's a different type of ice cream spot, and it was solid nonetheless. I'd come back again to get their vanilla ice cream the next time around. read more

Lovely little storefront for this great local brand. Inventive flavors - loved the blackberry Earl grey and Golden Passionfruit. My boys loved the Cookie Crush and Midnight Chocolate. The Aviator is as good as the first time I had it - my youngest got it half and half with the midnight chocolate which was good. My husband got the key lime which wasn't tart enough in our view. Sweet to have free sprinkles and waffle cone cookie with each scoop too. Not cheap (but what is?) but great quality and I love i can get two flavors in a single scoop.
