    Nutty Bowl & Vitality Bowl
    Nikki Y.

The portion sizes here are huge!! I got a medium and wasn't able to finish it so make sure you're hungry before giving this place a visit! Tried out the nutty bowl and vitality bowl. The nutty bowl was a thicker consistency and tasted fantastic but the vitality bowl was a miss. Vitality was a little more sour, watery and overall lacked the strong acai flavor - this could be because of the liquid base that's used. (I think it had apple juice) So if you're into that definitely try out the vitality but otherwise I highly recommend the nutty bowl!

    New menu items for lunch!

We had just finished a work out and decided to check this place out. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good salad and it looked like that had a couple good ones. When we arrived we were greeted by a super sweet girl who walked us through the new lunch menu they just added. This menu is a new addition to their store and it was a great one at that. My boyfriend got the steak salad with potatoes and I got the green glow bowl. They were both awesome and very filling. Definitely check this place out for all your healthy food needs. I will be getting an açaí bowl for sure next time.

This is one of my go-to places for açaí or pitaya bowls. It is always very clean both inside and outside and all of the employees are friendly. Plus, the menu has a lot of extra options, which is appreciated. I don't know about you, but I love add-ons. Another thing that impressed me about this place is that it offers pitaya. There are several places in the Jacksonville area that offer açaí bowls but this is the only one that has this option. And believe me, you won't regret trying it. Plus, it is a beautiful pink color, and who doesn't love fun colored food? My recommendation is the dragon bowl. It has a nice blend of flavors and textures. Overall, this place doesn't disappoint.

Really good açaí bowls with diverse superfood ingredients. They also offer smoothies, paninis, salads, and have kombucha on tap. They are similar to Nekter, Florida Juice and Bowl, and Robek's in the area. We prefer Nekter's smoothies and bowls a little more but if you are in North Jax Beach Vitality Bowls is certainly a really good option as well. Looking forward to trying their kombucha next time we visit.

I saw a coupon for this place in a local advertisement booklet and it piqued my interest. The store is located in the Metro Diner plaza so parking is a little difficult. Once you enter Vitality Bowls though, your parking woes will be long gone. The small but very bright space is perfect for the name. You'll feel energized just by walking in and sitting down in the orange chairs. I love acai and pitaya bowls and if a store offers a tropical inspired one, I almost always go for it. Vitality got theirs right. With a mix of acai, coconut milk, apple juice, banana, mango, and pineapple, the base was sweetly delicious and they topped it with bananas, strawberries, coconut, granola, and honey. It was all really good. Better than other great acai shops? No. But this place does have a good product. The bowl ran me $10.75 and with the yelp check-in, I got $1 off. I don't mind paying for great food but the value has to be there. The portion for the medium bowl was decent, but certainly not impressive. And...I was still hungry afterwards. A larger bowl is as much as $13.49! The owner indicated that all of their ingredients are organic and that organic is expensive. Thankfully, organic is not really my thing but if that is important to you, then this just may be your place. Overall, the acai is good and the space has a fresh and clean look to it, but the price point is too high in this area, which precludes this from being a regular spot for me.

I got a large and the bowl was huge! Enough for 4 of us to eat it. I wish that I had gotten a picture of the side of my bowl to show how large it was. I had to wait quite awhile for my bowl and now I know why. I liked this place but didn't love it. We were hoping that the ingredients would be all organic, which they weren't. On some places it said organic, others it said organic when in season, another said highest quality possible (which is a relative term). Either way it is nice to have an option like this around. For a healthy option like this with portions being so big, it almost makes it unhealthy. Good option, not my favorite, but I will come back here.

Started on a new health journey and tried this place while traveling. Offered convenient healthy options for our beach trip. Food was fresh and tasty! Very convenient to pick up before hitting the beach.

Had some delicious breakfast while on vacay here in Jax this morning. While the food was good and the location was clean and the staff was pleasant, I would suggest a quick wipe down of the outside of the bowl prior to serving it. Otherwise, perfect.

I ordered the desert bowl! Staff was very friendly and explained what bowls were most popular (it was my first time visiting). I thought the menu was kind of steep. I ordered one of the cheapest options. It was good and refreshing, but I wish it was a little bigger/filling for around $7. The main acaí bowls looked more filling but I wasn't going to spend that much $10-14.

    Clean and beautiful store front!

I ordered delivery and it got to me pretty quick. The medium açaí bowl was a good portion size, tasted alright but wouldn't recommend it.

Cedar and Olive was hands down the best meal in Jacksonville…read more We went for lunch and were guided by the warmest, most helpful staff. Let me tell you about the Tawook Sandwich, this thing is something special. The garlic spread they use combined with perfectly seasoned chicken, pickles, and just the right amount of crispy french fry tucked inside makes it one of the best things I have ever eaten. I'm not exaggerating. It's the kind of bite that stops you mid-conversation because you just need a moment to appreciate it. The shish kabob platter was equally incredible, the steak was impossibly tender and packed with deep, rich flavor. The hummus and pita rounded everything out beautifully, simple but executed with real care. What sets Cedar and Olive apart is that you can genuinely taste the passion behind every single dish. This isn't food that was just prepared, it was crafted with intention and creativity. If you're in Jacksonville, please do yourself a favor and go here. Don't think about it, just go. You will not regret it.

Cedar and Olive was a bit of a disappointment for me. The restaurant itself is very nice, with a clean, modern setup and an inviting atmosphere. I ordered the shish tawook and fattoush. Both tasted good, so the issue wasn't necessarily the quality of the food. It was the portions, pricing, and overall experience. For me, it felt like the gentrified version of Mediterranean food. Everything looked polished and was presented nicely, but some of the generosity and authenticity I associate with a great Mediterranean restaurant seemed to be missing. Mediterranean food is usually the type of meal where you leave full and satisfied. Here, I left wondering where the rest of my plate was. The shish tawook and fattoush were good, but for the price, the meal simply wasn't fulfilling enough. Customer Service was good, not stood out either good or bad. Nice restaurant, good food, and attractive presentation. But if I'm craving an authentic Mediterranean experience with generous portions and strong value, this probably wouldn't be my first choice.

Tasty taco truck with bold flavors, but a bit pricey for what you get…read more Jalapeño Express is a small food truck parked in a dental office lot, with a few casual tables nearby and a speaker strapped to the truck for ambiance. It's a one-person operation, so service can be a bit slow, but the food feels authentically made with care. We ordered the 2 burritos, 2 tacos, and a drink deal. Burritos are medium-sized, comparable to Chipotle, and while one is enough for me, the full combo would just satisfy a bigger appetite. The burritos were a bit soggy and could've been more generously filled. The tacos were the stars -- palm-sized but packed with flavor. The tripa taco was perfectly fatty and crispy, while the lengua was soft and flavorful. I'd come back for the tacos over the burritos. Drinks are self-serve from a cooler in front of the truck. There are two self-serve salsas -- a fresh green one and a spicier red; I preferred the red for its kick. Price-wise, it's on the higher end for a taco truck, which might be a drawback for some. Still, the taste delivers. If you're not in a rush and want a casual, no-frills taco stop with strong flavors, Jalapeño Express is worth trying.
