I needed my shingle roof replaced due to hail and wind damage plus it was 22 years old. The…read moreinspector/adjustor from my insurance company came out and did a detailed written evaluation so I had a good idea what I needed before asking roofing companies for estimates. I requested estimates from 3 companies including Craven and two others which were large companies recommended by Rosie on the House. The other two companies provided such poor service initially that I decided not to follow through with them. I had called Craven because a woman in my neighborhood had them replace her roof last year and she was very satisfied with them. Randy came out 3 days later and showed up on time as scheduled. They thought they would be able to schedule the work within 3 weeks but as it turned out they had one crew who had completed another job early and said that if I wished, they could start on my roof in two days. The crew that came out was knowledgable and experienced. The only variable on the estimate was for underlayment which they can't see until they strip the old roof off but they did say that if plywood was damaged it would cost $70 additional for each sheet that needed to be replaced. As it turned out only one had water damage so that was in line with what my insurance adjustor had told me. They used quality materials (Owens Corning) and the job was done on time at the cost they had quoted. Overall, they did a great job and I would recommend them.

The second was a complete home re-roof project with asphalt shingles. The third was a re-roof project with new concrete tile. In each case, they performed the work quickly and professionally to my complete satisfaction. The most amazing one was the tile roof. They literally started and finished the project in two days, including final cleanup. As a former commercial general building contractor, I feel Craven takes great pride in its work and I recommend that anyone with roofing needs contact them for an honest inspection and a competitive proposal.

Here we are Aug 2024 with the job STILL not completed…read more The final payment was demanded before the job was complete and we foolishly released last payment. Now that they're paid, the job has come to a stop. We paid for a pool chiller that is still not up and working correctly - really great now that we are nearing the end of summer! This job was originally bid as a 12 week build lololol! Some delay was a result of nobody monitoring the pebbletec install that was not correct at all (color and finish!) and had to be jackhammered out! Not impressed, massively frustrated and we cannot in good faith recommend this company. We are now having to hire a plumber ourselves and backbill or head to mediation to get the job finished. Not worth the headache. Subcontractors are not solid in any way and you better be around to monitor as the GC does not at all. Also beware- do not release final payment until EVERYTHING is completed!

So happy I was referred to this company…read more Gabriel arrived on time to service my exterior motorized shades. Not only did they repair a failing mount on one of them, he noticed there were 3 more that were beginning to fail. All were properly reinforced - undoubtably much better than the original installer (from another company) some years ago. I also asked Gabriel if he could take a look at a couple of issues I was experiencing with my indoor motorized roller shades. He was able to reprogram them and showed me that one of the battery housings had completely failed and he was able to replace it. Everything working great now and we feel a lot safer that the exterior shades were professionally attended to. I would readily call on him again for any such work.
