I used Mayfield Elite travel before and had a great experience, however, I booked a international trip for my group with Clairemarie and I was disgruntled by the service we received. We booked a year ago and 2-3 months before our travel the names on our passports were incorrect. Upon arrival to our destination, the tour guide asked if I had a copy of my old passport information because there was an issue. Every time we asked for an update on our trip we wouldn't receive a call or email back for weeks, until I contacted the owner. That's when I started to get answers. When my friend requested a refund if she had to pay extra for the name change, no one replied. I don't know what happened to this company but I will no long use them again. I was very upset. I was referred to this travel agency, therefore we booked a year in advance. Sadly, all that time was for no reason, as the time got closer to our trip we ran into some issues. First, the payments were not updated so we had to sort that out for them, then it was our names in our flights, it's didn't match the passports. I was told by the agent that everything was taken care of and not to worry. The night prior to the flight, I go online to check in and was not able to, when I called the airline I was told that I needed to check in early because the names did not match. When I asked if the agency had called, they said no and there was no record of them calling. Needless to say, it was stressful to have to figure this out a night before, especially when we had sent our information six months in advance and confirmed that everything matched. I quickly called the travel agency and got a call back, however it quickly became a blaming matter of why so and so person did not confirm, yes they apologized but given the fact the we had all this time to get this correct, here I was figuring it out the night before. I called the airline again, to ask if there were going to be additional fees for the updating my name and was told they were not sure. Long story short, I figured it out myself. Was definitely disappointed with everything, and to make matters worse, on the way back to the states, my friend was held back because the name on his passport did not match the ticket. Yes, they were sweet, friendly, and apologized for the errors, but I would not use them again. One whole year to get everything right.... oh, and when we got to our destination, my other friend was told she was not able to visit Machu Pichu because the ticket did not match her passport!!!! Don't get me started on that issue.... I fee like I got ripped off, I could've coordinated everything myself. read more
