It looked old and somewhat scary; the air was thick and dense with the smell of heavy Clorox weighing you down. I paid ahead of time, and I presumed it was because people were stealing massages, and I was committed to the UNEXPECTED $2 surcharge before even getting my massage. I noticed the fine print that leaving a tip on my card would cost $3. However, since I was committed after paying (even if my massage was horrible, I don't think they would have refunded me if I left 5 minutes after paying), the massage itself was barely "O-K." I felt she was angry for having to give the massage and was taking it out on me by just rubbing me down like a roast, so she didn't work on my discomforts. It was really mediocre, to say the least. As per the definition, "A service tip is a voluntary payment given by a customer to a service worker as a reward for good service." I didn't have any cash and didn't want to pay $3 surcharge for a bad massage. The guy behind the counter stated he would add it to the charge he previously made, so I answered, "Ok, $10 is fine" (whereas $3-5 is what I really wanted to offer), but he insisted on me giving more. With a strange grin, he suggested a $15 payment for her birthday, handing me the receipt I had already paid. I answered, "No thank you... I really don't want to leave anything because it wasn't all that great. Since I was charged $2 more, $10 is acceptable, and this is my first and last visit. The massage therapist has over 30 years of experience, but I left feeling uncomfortable. After reading more reviews, it's either you love it or hate it. But I've been having massages for over 25 years, some not so great, some amazing... This one definitely fell into one of the top 5 NOT-so-great experiences ever!! The $2 service fee for using my card was not the worst part of my experience. The atmosphere was thick, and the woman appeared irritated when I arrived. It wasn't relaxing--just a rubdown. She massaged me like she was angry with me. When I tried to depart, the front-desk employee kept attempting to get me to pay more for a bad service. Chandler Fashion Square Mall massages are my favorite. They can target specific areas of your back while you remain dressed. _______________________________________________________ Dec 1, 2025 I noticed that my credit card had been charged the amount the guy insisted I tip. I requested that the $5 excess be reimbursed, but instead of doing so, the proprietor called me to argue and kept blaming me for how I felt about the massage. He emphasized that I was to blame for my emotions, even though I insisted I would rather not argue. After threatening me, he became irate with the review I wrote and kept saying he wouldn't give me a refund. He claimed to have another business in Chandler that I had visited, but I emphasized that I had gone back there since the service there was actually BETTER than this one. As he argues with me over the phone about how the situation is my fault, I hear a woman shouting in the background. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional place than this one. The owner continued the call by accusing me of not enjoying the massage, threatening to blacklist me from all massage services, and claiming that he would not give me a refund because he was offended by my candid evaluation. I urged him to conduct himself professionally and pay back the illegal overcharge, but he said, "I'm not giving you shit." He is aware of my update, but consumers will be charged in advance if they decide to visit this place; however, he stated he would have reimbursed me in full if I had left before using the entire amount of service time I paid for. Given his unprofessional conduct during our phone conversation, I seriously doubt that he would have reimbursed me. I left this same review on Google... in case he goes out of his way to change it.
