My call to Maytag was for a simple issue. The Lowes delivery guy ran a wash cycle on our new machine and washed the owner's manual. Funny story,huh? Except now there is a sad, empty space in my extremely organized "Manuals" binder... and this machine has lots more bells and whistles. I neeeed that manual! So, after 3 (THREE!) unsuccessful requests to Lowes for a new one, I called Maytag directly. Very glad I did. Used the Maytag call back system to avoid holding. Within 5 minutes, Lisa, from Tennessee,was on the phone. She listened to my issue and went right to work to solve it. No argument, just great customer service. I wish I researched the reviews before purchasing the extended warranty through Maytag. I called to request service for my dryer. The heater coil went out. We've been a Maytag customer for 30 years. The support we are being given recently is horrible. We bought a washer & dryer and in less than 60 days the washer stopped working, It locked up full of water, they sent a technician out twice with parts and he said it can't be fixed. After calling Maytag five times I finally got hold of someone and they are now wanting to send him back again to try and repair this. This is our vacation house and three hours each way to meet the tech all the while waiting for 6 hours for his arrival each time. I would rate less than 1 star if possible. I purchased my Maytag washer less than 3 years ago. Today I received an error code and it said contact service. When I called I was put on hold twice for 29 minutes the first time and 30 minutes the second time before I was able to speak to a person. At that time I was basically told I would be responsible for any repairs done because even though it has a 10 year warranty on the drive train and basket nothing else was covered. When I expressed how disappointed I was because it was my first Maytag appliance and I had purchased it because I thought I was buying a top of the line appliance and would now not buy another Maytag they didn't seem to care. Purchased Maytag refrigerator top of line a year ago. Salesperson gave me all positive info. No negative comments. This is a double door, freezer at bottom with ice tray at top. However every couple mos, ice tray stop making ice. Freezer and refrigerator ok. I have to unplug and plug in refrigerator for ice to start up again. Internet states common practice. I bought a new refrigerator a little over the month ago. I wanted to match my stove, and dishwasher. Even though I am not impressed with those either. I reviewed the item on various sites, as this particular fridge is never in the local appliance/hardware stores. For good reason as this is the cheapest made refrigerator I have ever seen. The vegetable pull outs,, along with the fresh meat tray is the most cheapest I have ever seen.. They are shallow and are very loose in the guides.. I bought this directly from Maytag. The delivery was so poor as they left the fridge in the driveway and did not level the fridge. I paid extra for the set up, that never happened. I had to call Maytag after they left 4 times before I got a rep to get a hold of the business who delivers the merchandise to reschedule another crew to be out 1st thing in the morning. They showed up and some what leveled the fridge and took the old one. Pretty freaking sad. I contacted them as I wanted a refund on my purchase, that was denied as it is considered used! I made a complaint with BBB and in the end they said, no it is now used! I have a one year warranty! So screw you disabled vet, we have your money, now go away. I did not accept their response, and stated so on my reply to BBB. Now get this after one month I had to call in for warranty issue as the refrigerator door is popping sound when it is opened 3 quarters of the way, so the door is out of wack. The door does not stop when you open it, as you have to open it all the way or it will swing out on its own. The ice maker is noisy when it fills the water dispenser. It's up too you but, I will look at LG for now on. I viewed a very similar model and it is made soon much better, and their rating are fabulous. No more money for Maytag, Ever! I purchased a $2500 Maytag refrigerator along with four other Maytag appliances a little over two years ago. Spent around $6000 in total. Now they say my refrigerator is unrepairable. They did offer me 25% off to go but another Maytag refrigerator which I declined. Never had such a terrible experience with a company as I have had with Maytag. They poorly design an appliance that fails that they can't fix after two years, and you get stuck holding the bag. After putting up with this washing machine 5 years I finally got rid of it and bought a Samsung for $700 and love it. It's so quiet and doesn't leave lint all over my clothes like the Maytag. Has an active water jet feature so you can hand wash clothes without a sink in your garage. The vibration reduction technology works great. The different modes work and the water level is adjustable. Purchased a front load washing machine a few years ago and water is leaking out of the front like Niagra Falls. Maytag wants $450 to fix this. It is absurd. What a horrible company with poorly made products and customer service. They would not even discount the cost of the repair or pay for the defective gasket. This YELP review is just step one I am writing this to express my total dissatisfaction with my recently purchased Maytag Commercial Grade washing machine model MVW7232HW. I have been a loyal customer of Maytag washers for well over 30 years, and I am deeply disappointed with the design and quality of this particular machine. As you are aware this is a non-agitator model, and it seems that my decision to move away from a HE non agitator model was a somewhat fatal mistake. My wife and I have had HE Maytag machines in the past with absolutely no issues. In fact, the failure of our electric dryer in the middle of the pandemic is what prompted the replacement of the pair. In retrospect I should have kept the washer and just replaced the dryer but given the age of the pair I believed replacing the pair was the prudent thing to do. I could not have been more wrong. To be specific, I have noticed that this washing machine is damaging my clothing during the wash process. Despite following the manufacturer's instructions, my clothes come out of the wash with snags, tears, and holes. This has never happened with my previous Maytag washing machines. Calling these outcomes unacceptable is clearly an understatement. At this point my wife and I do not have a single towel or set of sheets in our entire home that are not damaged. As a long-term Maytag consumer, I expected to receive a high-quality product that performs as expected. However, the MVW7232HW has failed even come close to meet my minimal expectations. I have spent a considerable amount of money on this machine but have always considered the higher cost of investment in Maytag products as money well invested, and it is frustrating to have to replace or repair my clothes due to the machine's poor performance. Further complicating my wife's frustration is the fact that my daughter has a 2019 Commercial Grade Maytag HE (MVWB865GW0) which has an agitator and needless to say she has had ZERO problems with that unit since it original purchase years. I respectfully urge you to take this complaint seriously and take appropriate steps to rectify the situation. I am requesting that you provide a resolution to this issue, whether it be a replacement of the machine with an agitator model, or a refund for the amount I paid so I can affect a change as an informed consumer. I would like to continue being a loyal customer and consumer brand ambassador of Maytag washers, but if this issue is not resolved, I will have to consider other options in the future but be certain that everyone within "shouting distance" of my physical and digital voice will be well aware of not only the clear lack of any true level of a consumer focused culture or attention to brand reputation within the larger market place read more

This is both about Maytag as a product and their poor customer service. I bought a higher end Maytag washing machine 8 months ago. It stopped spinning one month ago. It's under warranty since it's so new. It took three and a half weeks for a guy to come out. He spent about ten minutes on it and said it both needed a front panel control module and a new rotor, saying he didn't have either of those parts and will have to get them ordered. I asked how long will that take and he said he didn't know. I then asked if the order can be expedited since I already waited so long and it was under warranty. The answer was a definitive no, and in fact they are booked out and can't get back out to my house to fix the washing machine for "months". I couldn't believe it. I then contacted Maytag (Whirlpool) customer support and explained the situation, asking if there was anything they could do. They informed me that they can't expedite the parts, but they can have them shipped directly to my house, then once I get them, I can contact the service company again and schedule to have them come out. So essentially, no help at all... I still have to wait months, and in the meantime find some way to wash clothes for my large family... I will never buy Maytag again... read more

I bought a Maytag electric dryers few months ago with digital controls. It looks cool but it does not dry the clothes. No matter if it's a full load or 1 item. Called Maytag which is actually owned by whirlpool...and they sent out a service tech. Said it had poor air flo so get your vents cleaned. I hired a dryer vent cleaner. Still the dryer did not work well. Called Maytag again. They sent out another service tech. Air flo still bad. The tech said they get several complaints about the dryer not functioning properly. I have called the store where I purchased it and also called whirlpool several times. I asked to exchange the dryer for a different model. All they can say is that they can send out another service person. I explained that it's not broken but that it just doesn't dry the clothes. I always ....always have to turn the dryer on 2-3!times....not matter what setting I have it on. The customer service rep sounded like she was reading from a script. Beware: Do not purchase Maytag Washing Machine. This is the worst washer I've ever owned. It should be in the junk yard. The washer has autosensing program that is designed to save water, but it does not work. Autosensing gives about 2 to 3 cups of water per load of clothes. That's not enough water to cover clothes. At times there's no water at all. Some items have dry spots/stains and does not clean clothes. The washer has a deep fill option, however, its still not enough water to clean clothes. At times it doesn't agitate and it is terribly noisy. Eleven months after purchase the washer completely stopped working. Maytag customer service is horrible.
