    CHILLI MOMO CHICKEN

Honestly a solid spot for Indian/ Nepali food. We ordered the butter chicken with bullet naan and some chili momos and the food did not disappoint. Everything was flavored well and the servers were friendly.

Wonderful small cafe with excellent service. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I wanted to watch the college football championship game at the bar and they went to great lengths to set up their TV and app to get the game on for me! I love Indian food but I'd never had Rhogan Josh. I asked about it and was told theirs was excellent and I should definitely try it. I took them up on it and I'm glad I did! The dish was rich and delicious! I washed it down with mango lassi. To close out the meal I ordered the Kuch Kuch cocktail. It too was delicious and was a beautiful presentation. I highly recommend this place. A hidden gem!

The mixed grill platter has both a lamb and chicken kebab, well seasoned but a little dry for me.

Wow, I'm sitting here having a fabulous meal! We love their mango lassi, sweet yogurt drink, and always keep it handy to cope with anything spicy we order. In addition to the mango lassi, Mr. picky loves to gorge on - and I'm not sure if it's on the menu at this point - the hot garlic cheese naan. That is a decided taste treat, so good! It's a bit like chewing a soft pizza with just garlic and cheese. Wow! My entree is the small (4) grilled lamb chop platter. Another wow. I make sure I keep a mango lassi drink around so that I can go some of its sweetness if I get a very spicy bite of seasoning on the lamb. I also like the grilled vegetables on the hot platter.

So far, Everest is pretty good. Much much better than Mostafa at the Galleria. The staff members were really friends but service was a little lackingZ [[HIGHLIGHT]]the interior could use some work but the flavors made up for the ambiance and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will be back.

Don't let the location fool you this is some of the best food that I've had honestly can't remember when I've had a better food experience!!! The waitress was extremely helpful and kind when we were ordering and had plenty of suggestions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This would be a great date night place or just for the girls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a place that I see us frequenting more often.

We enjoyed our butter chicken and paneer tikka masala. We enjoyed our garlic cheese naan and garlic naan. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the family style setting they have for us so we can share our entrees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delicious! The staff is very helpful and ready to assist you with anything you need. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely check it out again!

I've been here more than 4 times and I've had a great experience with no issues every single time. The people were so friendly and felt very welcoming. They also have bar options and I've noticed they have Indian drinks as well. For the non alcoholic drinks, their mango lassi is a must try. That can never go wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Moreover, their ambience is very homely and the music in the background is a bonus for the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you love Indian or a fusion food, this place is a must try.

Kadai Goat Masala Rice Garlic Naan

First time ever having any Indian cuisine and was immediately blown away. As soon as I step into the restaurant I am quickly politely greeted, seated and ready to order. I first order the onion samosa as my appetizer and the kadai goat masala with garlic naan for my meal. Flavors were unlike anything I've ever tasted before, didn't even want to stop for a breath. Portions are a pretty good size for me to save some for dinner as well.

Love this place!!!! The vindaloo is Whiskey list on point! It's all Indians so you know it's good!

My mom and I were literally headed to black beat diner lol but made a uturn and came here... it did not disappoint- service was top tier 10/10...constant water coming, asking if we were good, and because he heard us speak some hindi he made great conversation...because of our similar backgrounds...he also explained the different dishes to us.... The chai 10/10 I always order tandoori at any indian spot and it was so good and flavorful, I wasn't disappointed at all. My mom got the tali with the goat curry and that was pretty amazing as well 9/10 we also tried their samosas 10/10 with the mint chutney! Just very fresh food! It wasn't packed when we were there but it was becoming as soon as we were leaving...they also had a good bar menu. I can see how parking can be a pain because of the location. overall 10/10 I recommend

A group of us one for dinner and we tried several different dinners and shared them amongst us. We were seated quickly and they accommodate our group of 10 easily, we placed our order in the food, came out, reasonably quickly. The main course started with a salad, and we ordered both garlic and buttered nan. Our main courses included mahkani chicken, vindaloo, fish, chicken biryani, spinach paneer, momo dumplings, and several orders of King of Texas platter. The flavors were wonderful, and when we ordered a few of us, ask them to dial up the spice, but be careful. The service was very good and attentive, and the restaurant was relatively quiet from noise. Some restaurants are just super noisy, and TAJ is not. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, I know you'll enjoy this restaurant.

The inside isn't giant -- on the smaller side, with a lot of tables packed in, plus a couple of larger ones for bigger parties. Pro Tip: The spice level is was Medium/low, so if you are expecting some very spicy dishes you need to ask for them. Frontier Beef Karhai, $19.50 -- 3.5/5. Himalayan fried chicken, $24.99 -- 4.5/5. Nice crispy batter, prepared a little differently than you're used to. It's skinless, bone-on chicken that's been filleted off the bone a bit, so instead of a plain drumstick, it's more like a filleted drumstick, with the breast filleted off, with a little bone left on to hold it together. The chicken was super tender and moist and the batter was crunchy. There's a bit of an Indian flavor profile, but not overwhelming -- I was actually hoping for a little more spice, kick, and heat. Still, very good chicken, and I'd try it again. Rice, 3.5/5. Solid side, but nothing spectacular. I've had much better. Garlic naan, $9 -- 3.5/5. Solid, big piece of naan. Would get it again. Service was quick. The food took a little while to come out, mostly because of the fried chicken -- though we ordered that right when we sat down, then ordered the rest about ten minutes later as we looked over the menu. If you've lived in Houston all your life, I highly suggest giving this place a try. It's one of those Houston staples that's been around, and some of the things they do are really good and a little different. That said, from a value perspective I think a place like Aga's outshines them just slightly. I've had many of the same curries at Aga's and find them a touch better, and a slightly better value. In the end, it's a totally fine place for takeout or to sit down and eat give it a try. Would recommend, and would return.

These are some of the best drinks I've ever had at any type of Indo-Pak restaurants in Houston. The mint lemonade was definitely in a league of its own. We didn't go for any appetizers, just went straight in to the entrées. The Chicken Hara Masala Supreme. Just wow, chef's kiss. Think cut up chicken thighs in a green curry that almost has a salsa like mouth feel with vegetables. Absolutely decadent. The Steak Tikka. Round of applause. I overheard the owner telling other tables that it's the best steak in Houston. I'll say it's the best steak I've ever had at an Indo-Pak restaurant. The steak was super tender it had that famous Tikka style smokiness. The Butter Chicken. Pretty damn solid. The gravy was silky and perfectly textured. They also use chicken thighs for this, which makes it even better. The Saag Paneer. It was all right, I've had better at other places, but still super solid. The Paneer was fresh and was great on all the various naans we got. For the naan, we just got the garlic and the butter naan. They are absolutely great when they come straight out of the tandoor oven, but I found that they get a little too hard if not eaten quickly. I'm sure they would reheat really well. We also tried the spicy rocket naan and it decent. I would just stick with garlic and butter. The only miss for me was the Mutton Biryani. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid biryani dish, but I've had better that had a little bit more flavor. The mutton was very tender, but the opportunity was making the rice a little bit less clunky. I see a lot of reviews with people hating on things like service or area. Let me just say we had no issues with service. The service was top-notch. We spent $222 with tip across three people. A little pricey but totally worth it.

The biryani tasted good, the butter chicken tasted good, and the deviled eggs were interesting. The serving sizes aren't worth the price. The butter chicken container was about half full and the biryani just over half. To put it in perspective, there were only two pieces of chicken in the biryani, with the rest of the space filled by a single potato, and the butter chicken had just a handful of pieces. I'm not sure if this is because I'm used to traditional Indian restaurants and this is clearly a fusion place, but the standard expectation is a full container. The bigger issues, though, are these: the naan is a standard frozen variety that is fairly small and you can find at most Indian grocery stores, so charging $3 for a single piece feels excessive. We also found hair in our food. Service was good, though everything we ordered was to-go rather than dine-in. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and I would not go back.
