Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant is located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront where the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier is located. There is parking available at the fishing pier for the restaurant. During certain times of the year (especially summer) where there will be a fee for parking. My visit here was on January 20, 2026. You can see the overall building from the parking lot there for the fishing pier. The fishing pier is closed this time of year, but this restaurant is just before the main fishing pier. You can tell this business and structure have been around for quite a while (in a good way). The first entrance from the structure is the gift shop, and the other one is the entrance to the restaurant. When you first come inside, you can see it looks like a fishing/seafood type of place, which is fitting for where it is. At the time my mom and I came in, it wasn't busy. This 3:30 pm, so it might have been early for others to come in. We were greeted at the host stand and we were immediately seated in the main dining area of the restaurant. A few moments later our server Kierston came to the table. She introduced herself and asked what we wanted to drink and if we had any questions about the menus. It would take us a little while to decide what we wanted to get. This was our first time here as we like to check out places that are new to us during the Restaurant Week. We did get to see the ocean where we were seated too. After some time, we were ready to order. I decided to go with the Hot Salmon Dip as the appetizer, Roasted Chicken as the entree, and Chocolate Ooey Gooey Butter Cake as the dessert. My mom got the same dessert too, but she got the Beer Battered Shrimp as the appetizer and the Lobster Mac & Cheese as the entree. About five to ten minutes after ordering, the appetizers came out to the table. The Hot Salmon Dip looked really good too. It came with tortilla chips and Ritz crackers. The dip was satisfying. The Beer Battered Shrimp looked good too. After about ten minutes, the entrees came to the table. The Chicken, Green Beans, and Mashed Potatoes looked good, as well as the Lobster Mac & Cheese my mom got. The chicken was good, but it was hard to get the skin off. It was fine once I was able to get it off. It was pretty stuck on there. The green beans and mashed potatoes were good complements though. My mom said the Lobster Mac & Cheese was good, but it was very salty. The last course of the visit was the Chocolate Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. That was quite an indulgence and that was very good and very rich in flavor. This was a good visit overall. There wasn't anything that gave me a wow factor to go above a 3-star rating at this time. The service was good and the food was good. Maybe it was just an off kind of day since we were the only ones there when we got there. I would likely come back another time to try the regular menu. They do a have a good drink list for those that drink alcohol.

Hidden gem on the water! The drinks were fantastic. Shelly our bartender was awesome. We recommend the the Orange crush and the cherry limeade. We'll be back to try the food.

10/10 for the ambiance and overall experience. We were seated right away on the outdoor patio with our dog and got to watch the sunset--it was absolutely beautiful. The food was decent overall. I ordered the blackened fish tacos--the fish was generous and tasted fresh, but I wish they had added more pico de gallo because it felt a bit dry. My husband ordered a burger topped with a slice of crab cake (I can't remember the exact name), and he said it was great.

I had one of the best burgers that I've ever had at Ocean Eddie's tonight for dinner! I got the Crabby Smash Burger which had a beef patty, smashed crab cake patty, Swiss cheese, lettuce, pickles, and tartar sauce on a potato roll bun. SUCH a great combo that was delicious down to the last bite. This restaurant is located on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier and has inside and outside seating. We sat inside since we are here during some chilly weather, but we still had a nice view of the ocean. Don't miss this spot!

This is what you think of when you say waterfront restaurant and bar. It as a bit too windy outside for us but the insane seating still had a view and the food was basic seafood.

Great food and ambiance. We ate outside on the balcony, the weather was perfect and the view was amazing!! We ordered the seafood platter along with some beer. Our Latino waiter was funny bringing our beer on his bald head, that was amazing and over the top making us feel welcomed! Our waiter was very attentive! We had a great time and we would come back again when we visit from California!!

Enjoyed our second day in a row lunch at Ocean Eddie's. The fried shrimp, hush puppies and coleslaw were absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Virginia Beach Ocean Eddie's is a must stop! Highly recommend!!! "Ten Stars"!

Location. You literally cannot ask for a better location when you're at the beach. Attached to the dock, the restaurant juts out over the beach, offering an incomparable view of the beach and ocean. Service was friendly and prompt, with an attentive server who was able to answer questions and make recommendations. The menu had lots of options for my picky children, and it had enough variety that my wife and I both found things that looked great. Our drinks were very tasty and put us in the mood for being at the beach, and when the food arrived, it was all excellent. All in all, I have to say that ocean Eddie's is one of the rare restaurants where I really can't think of anything negative to say. The bathrooms could use a little updating. But if that's really my only gripe, that's not bad at all.

Talk about an amazing experience. Ocean Eddie's is by far one of the BEST Fish Sandwiches I have had in my entire Life. Arriving at Ocean Eddie's, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. As we checked in, we decided to sit outside. Though it was a cool day, we wanted the outdoor experience. Once seated, our waitress arrived and took our order. As the ocean view captured our attention we were still able to scroll the menu and put our orders in. As I'm not a heavy seafood eater I decided on a Sweet Tea and Fish Sandwich with Fries. After our order was placed, we went back to admiring the view and enjoying the brisk ocean breeze. Of course the sweet tea came out first and babeeeeeeeeeee... This tea was Freshly Brewed and had a true authentic tea leaf flavor which added to my appreciation for the glass. As I appreciated each sip, I accidentally drank the whole glass quickly. LoL! Not to fret, my waitress was spot on with her check-in intervals and was back at the table before I could miss my tea. When the sandwich came, the playing was gorgeous. The sandwich was thick and you could smell the seasoning from the food. Oh yeah, I knew I was in for an experience. Upon first bite, I closed my eyes and was lost in a food trance. Everything was well seasoned, fresh, perfectly fried, and mouth mesmerizing. It wasn't until I was full that I snapped back to reality. lol! Anddddd, I still had food left over. Yep. Not only is the food amazing but the portions are more than enough. Great service. Great food. And, a great view. If you're on the boardwalk and love fresh seafood, make sure to stop by Ocean Eddie's.

I'm not sure I would have stopped by here if it wasn't for being in the off season, but I'm sure glad that I did! I would imagine this place is popping in the summer months! I loved the low key dive-y feel! It had a pretty chill vibe with great ocean views! I was just looking for some sort of seafood option for lunch and decided on a big ol' bowl of seafood chowder! The bowl of soup is was hearty, they certainly didn't skimp on the seafood and it was served with some crackers as well. Quinton was my server and he was pleasant and attentive.

Not only was the food amazing but our server was beyond amazing! His name was Joey. There was a little issue with something we specifically ordered but he was super empathetic and professional about it. Definitely made up for it! He was super friendly and personable the entire visit and even offered to give us a list of things to do as a family in the area! He wrote it down for us on an order slip. The thought was definitely heartwarming and we are beyond grateful to have had such an incredible experience with him and your restaurant. 100/10!

    Jessica L.

I went for drinks & apps with my girlfriend and her two buds visiting from out of town while we were at the oceanfront. I ended up just getting a sundae, but they didn't tell me they were out of a few things before bringing it out to me, which would've changed my mind on what I ordered, to be honest. But it was good nonetheless- I ate it! There's a picture guy that comes table to table, but he prints out pictures before showing you the proof, so watch him, although he wasn't pushy at all. I think the ambiance sitting outside is prime, so it's worth that if nothing else. A cool spot right on the boardwalk & right on the pier.

The line moved quickly, and while the food took a little longer to come out, it was clearly made fresh and was flavorful and worth the wait. One thing I appreciated was how dog-friendly the atmosphere is, with dogs welcome both inside and outside. The seating is very much community-style, with shared tables and a family/neighborhood feel. We didn't mind it, but if you prefer more personal space or private seating, the close quarters may not be for you. Breakfast sandwiches were reasonably priced, generally in the $13-$15 range. My only real complaint came when I watched the top of my sandwich fall off while a crew member was moving plates around. The employee picked it up and placed it back on the sandwich with their hand after touching several other items behind the counter. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it did bother me and left an impression. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty, the atmosphere was lively without being too loud, and the dog-friendly environment was a nice bonus.

I'm a chef myself and travel to different restaurants regularly, so I try to be understanding. That said, the service we experienced yesterday at Stock Pot was unfortunately some of the worst I've had in quite a while. We sat outside, and it honestly felt like we were being deliberately ignored. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we had to wait long stretches just to get basic things. At one point near the end of our meal, we asked for a box and our check. Instead of bringing it over, the waitresses stood around talking with other waitresses, while we continued to wait. After sitting there for quite a while, we eventually had to ask for the check and box, a second time. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. We had three different waitresses checking on us, but were left to sit for about 30 minutes alone at one point, and it took almost 20 to have our order taken, once we ordered, we had to request our appetizer again, after waiting another 20 or so minutes. Upon asking, again, we found out they were out of part of the appetizer we ordered. After that it came out quick. The food, however, was excellent and definitely the highlight of the experience. That's why this review is disappointing to write -- the kitchen is clearly doing a great job. I just hope the service side improves, because it didn't match the quality of the food.

HISTORY ON AN ONION ROLL | THE EYE OPENER CONTINUES TO TEMPT TASTEBUDS, DECADES LATER…read more By Patrick Evans-Hylton For decades, the Belvedere Hotel was more than a place to stay. It was a familiar presence along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, a backdrop for everyday rituals and seaside routines. Tucked inside was the Belvedere Coffee Shop & Diner, a true neighborhood constant since opening in 1969. It was where mornings began with hot coffee and friendly nods, where breakfast and lunch meant dependable comfort, and where the pace of the beach slowed just enough to savor it. When the Belvedere was torn down, it felt like losing a quietly important piece of the Oceanfront's collective memory. That sense of memory carries forward at Belvedere South inside the tony Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel. The new space honors the past without freezing it in time. Bright blue walls set against crisp white instantly recall the diner's cheerful spirit. Large windows allow light to flood the space. Cushy banquettes are a comfortable welcome, inviting you to settle in and linger. The menu stays true to its roots with classic breakfast and lunch dishes that feel familiar and reassuring. Anchoring it all is the legendary Eye Opener sandwich, returned to its rightful place as both signature and symbol. In this new setting, the Belvedere legacy lives on, refreshed but recognizable, a reminder that some traditions deserve to be carried forward with care and confidence. The Eye Opener remains the heart of the menu, and one bite explains its legend. A perfectly fried egg anchors the sandwich, its yolk just rich enough to soften the layers beneath. From a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, we chose the latter; each brings its own salty, savory character. Melted cheese binds everything together, draping the egg and meat in comfort. All of it is tucked into a lightly toasted onion roll that adds a gentle sweetness and just enough bite to stand up to the fillings. Chef Ray Ray Labuen, who wore the tall toque at the former Belvedere, is closely tied to the Eye Opener its careful steward. Then there are the tomatoes, the detail that elevates the whole affair. Thick slices are grilled, seasoned lightly, and finished with a generous snowfall of parmesan cheese. As they cook, the tomatoes soften and turn luscious while the cheese melts and lightly browns, creating a savory crust that clings to the fruit. They are warm, juicy, and deeply flavorful, adding richness and balance to the sandwich. It is indulgent without being heavy, familiar yet special, and exactly the kind of dish that earns its name at the Oceanfront. We also enjoyed rich, creamy grits and a damn fine cup of coffee. Service was exceptional. - I've been covering the cuisine scene in Coastal Virginia and beyond for 30-plus years, and have dined out at thousands and thousands times. I base my scores on the SAVORY system, which attributes values to six distinct attributes: Service, Ambiance, Value, Offerings, Repeatability, and Sensory Experience. That translates to 1 star = 59 or below ; 2 stars = 60 - 69 ; 3 stars = 70-79 ; 4 stars = 80-89 ; and 5 stars = 90 or above. Based on that, this restaurant receives my 5 star rating. This is based on a visit on Jan. 7, 2026 - I'm a Johnson & Wales-trained chef reporting on food and foodways in print (magazines, The Virginian-Pilot), television (morning shows, Food Network, WTKR TV-3), radio (PBS, AM 790 WNIS), and more. My wife and I visited Belvedere while staying at the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront during our…read moreelopement trip. The restaurant has a great oceanfront location and the food was good, but our experience was significantly impacted by how staff handled my service dog. We initially sat outside, but constant biting flies made it difficult to enjoy our meal, so we moved inside. Shortly afterward, an assistant manager approached us and attempted to remove us because of my service dog. My dog was clearly identifiable as a service animal, quietly lying at my feet, fully under control, and not bothering anyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I should not have had to explain ADA service animal laws in order to eat breakfast. The burden should not fall on guests to educate restaurant management about federal disability protections. What should have been a happy and memorable morning before my wedding became stressful and upsetting. The issue was eventually resolved, and we were allowed to remain, but only after I had to advocate for my legal rights. Because of that experience, we chose not to return to dine inside the restaurant for the remainder of our stay. The food and location were good, but the lack of service animal awareness by management seriously detracted from the experience. I strongly recommend additional ADA and service animal training for all staff so future guests do not experience the same treatment.

They tried to help with the parking issues, 5 spaces for an entire restaurant is not enough, plus the only handicap spot is not accessible for a van. My entire family of 6 were sat right away and orders taken rather fast. I decided I wanted a waffle but also needed protein. I knew I wouldn't eat much of the waffle but my 11 year old twins would gladly polish it off, so no since I'm getting the two mini waffles and paying the extra $2 per topping. I opted for a side order of two eggs and sausage patties. The order arrived minus my waffle. I was assured it was coming right out. I waited and waited. I had also split my eggs and sausage with my older daughter as her waffle did not come with protein and I knew she would get a headache without eating protein. After all my kids were done eating and my husband only had two bites of his pancakes left, I saw the hostess walk out of the kitchen with the same waffles I ordered. She was acting strangely and slide the waffles behind the bin full of silverware to wrap. She kept looking around and then slid into the booth and started eating away but trying to hide what she was doing. Our server saw her and confronted her. She pointed at our table and the hostess just shrugged and put another huge bite in her mouth. Our server went to her supervisor who then promptly came to us to let us know my waffle was coming, a slight delay in the kitchen. Now the restaurant is almost empty at this point. Why lie. I saw the whole debacle go down with the hostess. My husband even pointed it out and the supervisor replied with oh no, we had two orders in for the same waffle. Really! It's been almost 30 minutes and my food didn't come out. Really! I informed her I was done and no longer wanted the waffle. The server brought it out a few minutes later, and informed I wasn't being charged for the waffle. I had her box it up as I was done and paying. I never ate the waffle, we had drove over an hour to try this place. I won't go back. The food was subpar and nothing to rave about. It's just sad that they have a hostess who wants to shove food in her mouth and staff who are not honest. I will just continue to enjoy the hospitality and great food at Not Another Pancake House in Williamsburg where people always have a smile and care about their customers.

Clean lines, basic but fun decor, plenty of space to move around. Very clean.
