I purchased an Audi Q7 on 2/20/24 for $24k. It was delivered on 2/28. The price is above market…read morepartially due to a diesel delete kit, but the car was agreed to be complete without issues.
I test-drove the vehicle in MI, and there was a transmission shifting issue that Jose (owner) was to fix before delivery. Since I live in another state, the deal was to make the corrections and ship the vehicle.
He stated that the issue was fixed but it is not, and there may be an additional issue within the transmission that he did not report. Additionally, on the first cold morning start after delivery, the power steering pump is failing and whining significantly until warm, and that would have been known to the dealer, but that too was not disclosed.
This was not noticed when I test-drove the vehicle because it was already warmed. I have been working on cars for decades and missed several things because he's good at covering issues, and when asked if there are any issues, he deflects with answers including, it's perfect, it was my daily driver - none I know about.
I have put less than 100 miles on the car and cannot drive it because the transmission and power steering may fail, making it unsafe.
Jose is very misleading because though the car was sold without a warranty, it was agreed in writing in the same "Buyers Guide" that the transmission would function properly once "his guy" tuned it. In other words, the "As-Is" in this situation does not nullify his responsibility to fulfill the agreement.
Jose was the guy who was driving the car daily and knew all the issues. He intentionally withheld important information that would have changed the purchase decision.
I called the dealer on 3/1 - after driving the car and told Jose the transmission was shifting slightly better, but it was not correct. My wife and I believe it is undrivable as is, and I wanted to return the car. He told me to call back in a few days, and then began to ignore all calls.
I made many calls, left VMs, and texted all phone numbers, but he refused to reply, as many others have reported.
The total cost to repair will likely be between $3k and 6k.
If the car had been priced "As-Is", I may understand minor issues, but this was priced and sold at full retail.
I believed the place was sketchy when I walked in, but I wanted to give him and his family a chance--my mistake. I should have trusted my gut and walked out, especially after a few indicators of dishonesty from Jose.
I believe it is a matter of time until Jose and MJ Motorsports are sued and collapse.
Those who have a good experience here are those who rolled the dice and were simply lucky. The unprofessionalism and deception here are over the top, and you'd be much better off purchasing at a reputable dealer.
