The onion, lettuce, avocado and cilantro added great crunch, flavor and creaminess. I added the green salsa and it was perfecto! I also really enjoyed the chicken chimichanga plate with rice and beans recently. Hmmmm. Special on board outside listed fish tacos. Came in and was told they were out of fish. Ok. The bean dip came with the free chips but the dip tasted burned. I always want to give a place a week or two after opening work out the Kinks, even stopped in 2 times for drinks but for what they're charging for a burrito $9 for a tiny burrito, I figured a carnitas burrito has to be a good start. OVERCHARGED ME with no remorse. I ordered the Sopes to go, requested carne asada be substituted for the chicken if possible. When the order was brought out it included a carne asada plate, and the sopes were made with chicken. I completely understood the mistake, felt bad with them being a smaller business, and offered to pay with debit, but they couldn't accept card payments at the time. We are so, so happy we found El Bucana's! We moved last year from So Cal and were a little disappointed that Mexican food "with soul" was so difficult to find in Washington. Then we found El Bucana's. Our meals were cheap (around $24 out the door for two full entrees, a soda, and homemade flan) and flavorful without piling on cheese and sour cream. Ask for a detailed receipt!! The abuelo at the counter looks nice and sweet but she overcharged for a more expensive meal than the tacos that was ordered. Then on the meals there was an extra charge for "meat" she said. But it was the meat we ordered on the menu. Essentially charging us an extra 1.50 for an already expensive 15.95 tacos. My bill was $77 for two el pastor taco meals a torta and five tacos. It was take out. I signed the check gave her a $10 tip and asked for itemized receipt. That's when I noticed she overcharged. She apologized and refunded after we did the math but if I thought about how it was automatically charged the 1.50 per meal and no one noticed for the "meat" when that is what you ordered. Food came quick, but they started off my meal with chips and salsa. Chips are thick and the salsa was chunky. I ordered 3 tacos; carnitas, asada and al Pastor (pictured) for $5. I went here with my boyfriend to get dinner to-go. The women taking my order kept cutting me off when I was trying to order to either check her phone or greet a customer behind me. I dont eat meat, so I ordered a cheese enchilada. She then looks at me and says "oh okay chicken?" I respond no, just cheese thank you. She confirmed my order as just cheese, and then rang it in as chicken and gave me chicken. I returned it and said this is not what ordered, but when they remade it with just cheese none of it was cooked/melted and was just shredded cheese over and in the whole thing. So my husband and I popped in here today and holy cow. I was so impressed. Around noon on a Saturday this place was not very busy. I ordered the Burrito bucanos to go and my husband ordered five street tacos. The burrito came covered in delicious sauce with homemade guacamole and sour cream on the side. Street tacos are really good!! I had pork and Asada tacos and both were excellent! The tortillas were really soft and held together well. We had take out so we got chips and salsa with it, the salsa is good too. They also gave us three other sauces a hot sauce, chipotle sauce (really good flavor) and a green sauce.
