I brought my vintage 2002 E-Wagon for diagnosis. It was beginning to take multiple attempts to get it started. I thought it was due to an old battery, but after replacing it with a new one, the issue persisted. These folks diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes. They offered two possible paths to fix it. They recommended we start with the quickest and cheapest option, and pursue the most expensive path if that didn't fix the problem. I've been a loyal customer since 2007 with my Mercedes and have nothing to complain about their service, but today I went in to reattach my splash guard after it was loosened from a speed bump incident. I was willing to pay $20 as this happened before, but MB Tech quoted me $80! Then when I mentioned I was loyal customer, it was negotiated down to $44.25! I left and went to my former mechanic in Capital Imports in San Gabriel, and it was done courtesy (free) for me since I was a long time customer before MB Tech. I am VERY disappointed in MB Tech and will drive a little farther now to Capital Imports for my future service. Treat your loyal customers right, MB Tech. I wish I'd met them 15 years ago. With taking my car to dealers and other MB mechanics they really did a mess of a job on my car. Sonny went tooth and nail to fix the mess these other places caused to my baby. Plus, he went the extra mile (no pun) to get it back to some normalcy. Fam and Friends, stop going to the dealers and these other so-call MB mechanics. I was taken advantage of over the past 15+ years. Estimated out-of-pocket close to $30K-$50K (not including Sonny). I bought a used 2002 G-Wagon with about 100,000 miles a few years ago and they have been my go to guys for everything. They are quick at finding the problems and fixing them with no BS and extra charges. My car is getting close to 300,000 miles and still driving solid. Don't go to this repair shop. They ripped me off. I'm very shocked that the average rating for this place is high. My dad usually fixes my car, but he decided to let MB Tech do the repairs this time around based on a recommendation. 1. They're expensive for not being a dealer. 2. They take advantage of you if you don't pay attention. When we went over the list of completed repairs together, we came across an item they didn't complete that they already charged me for. 3. About a week after I took the car, it was leaking oil. I got my dad to check it out and they put USED motor oil into my car. It was so dark and chunky. We were shocked that they charged us for this. On top of that they didn't use the right washer to secure the bottom of my car, so that explains why my car was leaking. They used an old washer. You would think if you are paying so much, you would get everything new. Go somewhere else that you can trust with your car. read more

Great independent shop. My car needed service and I called some dealerships and it was kinda expensive. I called Mb Tech and their rates are almost half of what the dealership was going to charge me. I made a same day appointment and got the service done in about 1.5 hrs. I will be coming every time my car needs something done. Service is great and prices are reasonable. I've been dealt with this shop many times, and have not experienced any problems with them yet. The girl at the desk (Angela) is always very nice and helpful, and Henry & the other mechanics have been very good to deal with as well. The prices charged by the shop appear to be on the reasonable side, the work gets completed on a consistently speedy basis, and I've never gotten the vibe that the people at the shop were trying to screw me (whereas I've gotten that bad feeling *many* times at other shops). Every time I brought a vehicle in with an issue to be addressed, the problem was noticeably gone when I would come back and drive the vehicle home (e.g. transmission rebuild, engine mount replacement, etc.). Although the shop specializes in Mercedes Benz, they also service vehicles of other makes. My confidence in the knowledge and abilities of the mechanics was boosted when I brought in a Ford sedan that was suffering from coolant overflow problems. I had first taken the car to a different shop, whose "solution" was to replace my thermostat and coolant hoses. Neither action solved my problem. I decided to give MB Tech a shot at fixing my Ford, and they did not disappoint. The quickly figured out the problem was caused by a faulty radiator cap. In other words, they actually fixed the problem, while charging me much less money than the shop that did NOT properly fix the problem. Needless to say, based on my experiences, I still continue to patronize MB Tech, and I no longer bother going to the other shop (whose mechanics clearly don't know WTF they're doing). read more

I was having problem with one of my remote control key for my MB 320. I thought it was the battery and they told me it was not coded. Service was super fast and they won't up-sell anything to you. Pricing is very reasonable to compare to these European car dealerships which charges an arm and a leg. I called for a quote over the phone and when I went in the price they charged me was even less than what they quoted me. The fact that they were honest and did not over charge me although I had already agreed to that amount says a lot about them. MB Tech is the ritzier of the 2 "Benz" indy shops in MPK (Silver Star being the other). MPK, once upon a time, was the king of per capita Benz ownership in SGV. I don't know if this is the "best" independent Mercedes Benz shop in the LA area, but they've served their community well since opening. In fact, they've served it so well that Silver Star began to take more and more Toyos/Honduhs. They weren't able to offer much of a discount on the busted ceramics element in the cats, so just remember a plain "diagnostics" is charged if you deny all recommended work. They quoted $1100+ to change a rear main seal (involving dropping the tranny) and $1000 for a new side of exhaust. Much higher than say... a Mazda job, but really, it's still not as bad as raped by the stealership. One time, one of the gents measured my auto tranny fluid level for free. That was nice of 'em. read more

Looking for a regular MBZ repair shop in my area, I was hoping this would be a good experience but what am I thinking -- reliable + honest MBZ mechanics are few and far in between....Lucky me, I have my usual guy but he's all the way out in Thousand Oaks, 40 mi away which my car won't make it to. PROS: The only pro is that the waiting area has wifi and it's clean. The receptionist, Angela was friendly and so was Matthew when I called to check up on my car. Sonny was easy to communicate with. CONS: I called my regular MBZ specialist (whom is trustworthy) and found that Mb Tech really overcharges. Also, after Mb Tech gave me my estimate, I inquired about the new customers 10% off parts and labor and they said the parts already included 10% off in the prices. Truth be told, I think that was just an excuse for NOT honoring the full new customer discount. I had told the owner that if I was happy with the experience (with prices and the job), I would come back + recommend more business to them. Unfortunately, I left feeling really upset and ripped off. Overall: Service: 3/5 Honesty: 2/5 Ambiance: 3/5 (clean) Note: They charge a $95 diagnostic test which is waived IF the work order is performed. read more

It has save me tons of money and the best part is that they always use Mercedes parts! I usually call ahead of time and make an appointment and they are always available within the same week or even the next day. They are pretty fast with the turnover, but, of course, it depends what you are getting done. I have been trying to find a good mechanic and car shop for my Benz. Finally, I found this shop. They are honest and do a good job. They dont tell you to replace something that you dont need. If they found something during diagnostic, they will let you know. I met Matthew when I came here and he is a good guy. He is honest. Although he looks young, he seems experienced and knows what he is doing. Their price is also reasonable. I was quoted by another car shop for $1632 (replace radiator and accessories), Matt quoted me $701 radiator only because I did not need to buy accessories. In addition to Matt, I also met Sonny and Henry. They also seem good and trustworthy mechanics. I will refer them to my friends and come back for sure. So happy they were open today. David and his staff are awesome, honest and no-pressure. Came in around 10am, told them I needed service D. Within about an hour and 1/2, they called me to tell me there where some other minor things I needed. I told them what I wanted to be done and what to hold off on. They were understanding.
