I came here because I was in a bind. My usual smog spot had a 3-hour wait but it's $50 and includes free retesting within 30 days. I didn't have that kind of time, so I came here since they were immediately available. Nobody was rude. They were actually quick and professional. They took my car, and in less than 5 minutes the tech came back and explained that my car's computer had been reset and the readiness monitors weren't complete. I had recently changed the battery, so that made sense. He told me I just needed to drive it another 50+ miles. What I didn't expect was the $40 charge for that check. At my usual place, if the car doesn't pass, the fee covers retesting within 30 days. I assumed most smog shops worked similarly, but that was my assumption. Here, the $40 was just for running it through the machine, and when I come back it will be full price for the actual smog test. What confused me was that the manager later mentioned that if I had told them about the battery, they could've checked the readiness monitors in about a minute with a different device. That part would've been helpful to know upfront. It seems like offering that quick pre-check automatically could save customers time and money, especially since battery replacements are common. I paid the $40. That's on me for not asking more questions beforehand. But for anyone going in for a smog check, especially if you recently disconnected your battery, I'd recommend asking them to check your readiness monitors first before running the full test. They were fast and polite. I just think clearer communication about pricing and the quick pre-check option would make the experience much better for both the customer and the business. Horrible service! I waited over an hour for my smog check, and my car didn't pass for reasons that didn't make sense. The previous owner showed me the car's last smog certificate from just a few months ago, and it had passed with no issues. I was first told the test would cost $140 since it's an older model that requires a different machine, but I ended up paying $80 even though it failed. The next day, I took the car to a different shop, and it passed right away with no problems at all -- and I only paid $70 for the full test. I definitely would not recommend this place. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This place was my go-to for years for their honesty and reasonable prices. I was always so happy to have them as my car mechanic. I'm not sure what happened but the last 3 repairs I had were more expensive than fixing than ar the Lexus dealership!. The first time I thought it was a fluke. I read online that doing this service can cause more damage IF the ATF oil was never changed before. I am the 3rd owner and unfortunately the car's service history was not handed down. This is just from my own personal experience. We are trying to get inspections for Uber eats. The receptionist was nice, but it would take a week to get an appointment. In addition to that, I was estimated $40-45 for the inspection. I went somewhere close by and it was same day inspection and $25. First, she gives a reasonable price when I dropped off the car and after I'm committed (and out of town) she calls the next day and stated price went up some 25% because of part/labor inflation. So who is the "coward" that woun't stick to the original agreement. And I told this same story to the guy that recommended this shop to me. So to test it, he marked his oil filter and went for oil/filter change. When he picked up his car, his original fitler was still there. So don't trust this shop. They are cheating pretty much everyone. As far karma, I don't believe in karma and I make my decisions based on what I know is right and wrong. They were willing to make time and space for my car even around the holiday season. While Harry and his team can no doubt fix anything with 4 tires, they are also very knowledgeable about Lotus cars and come HIGHLY RECOMMENDED within the community. I just had my 2014 Evora S in for the common, dreaded, and expensive chirping pulley. Rather than listen to me, Harry did the right thing and diagnosed the issue properly without succumbing to my worst-case-scenario, internet-induced paranoia. LOL... The local Lotus dealer would have just ordered the pulleys, kept my car for weeks, and charged me thousands for the fix. Great place to bring your car here. They are up front and honest about what they find. They're not super cheap but their service is far better than what they charge. Since they are good they do get pretty busy so it's best that you set an appointment with them just to minimize your wait time but I highly recommend planning things out to leave your car with them and find another way of getting around. They're very good at explaining what is going on with your car and they're also very patient in hearing your questions and answering them. They do have a dedicated lot but it gets really busy in there so they actually have signs on their driveway asking you to park on the street and walk in to the office. The driveway on Las Tunas is really tight so I would avoid that if you have a large vehicle. There is usually plenty of street parking on Las Tunas and Muscatel but there is a school just north of the shop so during drop off and pick up times for the kids you have to be extra careful since it's a kindergarten and preschool, and kids unsupervised have a habit of not looking both ways when walking on the street so please be careful! read more

Some dumbass stole a catalytic converter and o2 sensor from my girlfriend's vehicle last night so upon starting it this morning, it was loud as hell. We brought my car in for an oil change then began having an oil leak. Wednesday we brought it back to find out where the leak was from and they said it was "a faulty filter." They repaired it and said nothing else. When we picked it up they said nothing about any issues however we discovered the oil dip stick was missing the next morning when we checked just to be sure no leak was still occurring. We called there after work to get the dip stick and they claimed the car never had one, which we knew was untrue as we had been checking the oil daily this week. Come to find out when we went to get a replacement dip stick that their mechanic broke it off into the car and did not disclose this to us - they only lied saying it was never there! We then had to have the broken dip stick removed and replaced at our expense! Needless to say we will not be back as a once honest and reliable mechanic is no longer either of those things. We have had other little issues over the years as well, but this will be the last - take caution if you use this place!!!! read more

My friend referred me to this place as she had her car serviced in this shop before. My Q7 got an alignment after changing tires the other day at a dealership. But ever since the alignment my steering wheel is crook and the car pulls to the right. Despite I told the dealership about this and took the car back for their re-adjustment, after couple attempts the dealer not only didn't fixed the problem but tried talking BS to make me accept that badly done alignment job.
