The more and more I thought about it I just did not know what to get and realized that I may just be in over my head just trying to pick the right kinds of materials!!!!. I live in West Lake and I have a 4600 sq. ft home 5 bedrooms/ 6 baths. The manager gave me a recommendation. He gave me Scott's card and said this is the guy you should call. He not only is good at his work, he will order you the paint samples you need to find your colors. He also is very knowledgeable about the company's products. I called Scott and he came right away and was very pleasant and sat with me for a long time to try to understand what colors I was looking for. He told me not to worry and that the paint samples were no charge because he is a contractor. I had learned that Scott was also a combat veteran in the United States Marine Corps and had served in three battles in the Iraq War. My hat is off to him. His military experience shows in his demeanor and his professionalism. He seemed firm, but very fair with his crew. They knew what he expected of them and boy did they deliver! There was no fooling around and they knew exactly what to do and how to do it. When they were done I was so blown away that I decided to put my house up on the market just to see what I could get. My realtor came by and he is the one who sold me the house. He was absolutely blown away at the attention to detail. They used some kind of polyurethane on the doors, crown molding and the trim. Unbelievable transition and contrast. My realtor said that he believes that they did on my house actually increased its value by over $30k!!! I spent no where near that. The things that really separated this contractor from others I have come to deal with is: 1. He always called me within an hour of receiving my call 2. He was there on the job nearly 100% of the time. 3. He wrote contracts clearly and there was no confusion about time lines or what we were paying for. I've run into this with other contractors. 4. He provided a 5 year guarantee on workmanship and material and the paint he buys offers a LIFETIME GUARANTEE on material AND LABOR!!!!! 5. Extremely competitive with other paint companies pricing. He is a high end painter, without the high end pricing. I asked him how he was able to buy quality paints, provide a written guarantee and still be so competitive with his pricing. His answer was when you are a top level competitor in anything you do, you are able to get things done efficiently and without error. He said he provides a guarantee, but because of his attention to preparation and choice in materials, the guarantee is there but has never been used. So he is able to get jobs done quickly and move onto the next. His motto was, "bid low, bid often". I cant tell you how much we all loved the guy. So, all in all I give him my highest rating and my realtor has used him in multiple projects now and they continue to have a thriving relationship. There are a lot of hustlers out there and he is not one of them. Very, very honest and straight forward.
