My daughter and I visited one Friday for a late lunch. There were only a few customers inside. The employees were all nice and friendly. We decided to eat in. The place was clean and had ample space. We ordered at the register but once seated I noticed you can order at the table by scanning the q code. My daughter went with the grilled chicken Caesar wrap and I had the jalapeño turkey crunch. We had two drinks that came in huge cups. I had the pineapple upside lemonade and my daughter had the peach tea. They were both good but definitely sweet. Our food was pretty good. The Caesar wrap fell apart easily but the taste was there. The jalapeño turkey crunch was bigger than I thought. I was only able to eat half. It was tasty but there's another place in Baton Rouge that has one that tastes better. Overall, nice spot. I'll probably return to try additional items. read more

I was super excited for the return of McAllisters in Br. I was out near LSU today so I went to grab an old favorite, the harvest chicken salad. It was a pretty awful experience. First, the store was dirty. Plates were piles up on numerous tables. The floors were sticky. Next, I ordered behind a group of three people. After they ordered, the employee walked off and I waited another five minutes or so to order. I had to repeat my order twice and correct the drink as she was pouring it. I stepped aside to wait. While waiting, a couple of kids walked in. They waited about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. They left and two employees who just needed to acknowledge their existence made some snarky comments for all to hear. While I was waiting, there was clearly a tussle in the kitchen with employees shouting at each other and one lovely f bomb dropped. Another employee mediated and calmed it down, but they all had attitude. The trio in front of me got their food after about 20 minutes of waiting. A door dasher came and waited a while during that time and got his order. Someone finally asked me what I was waiting on. I am pretty sure at that moment they just started to make it. Here is where the only star was earned - A very nice employee walked out with my food after another 10 minutes and apologized for the wait. She offered me a free item, but I just took a refill of my drink. She was friendly and acknowledged the fact I had been waiting for so long. (35 minutes for slathering chicken salad on a croissant) I walked out the door just in front of that trio who had finished their meals and I had just received mine. So I took my order home..... no side. The sandwich was correct, but they did not give me the entire order. That was disappointing. And I paid way too much for that sandwich. I won't go back. As much as I loved the restaurant and love the menu all these years, this location sours it. Someone in corporate needs to visit this location because it will not and should not make it. read more

I was excited when I learned McAlister's was coming back to the Baton Rouge market. I placed an order thru Grubhub so I can't speak to the service but my food was delicious. I ordered the choose 2 option and selcted half a McAlister's Club wrap and half a veggie spud. I missed this stuffed potato so much. It was delicious as ever. Filled with grilled veggies and topped with rotel cheese dip (which is very good on its own by the way). The McAlister's club wrap was decent. I wasn't a fan of the texture of the wheat wrap. It was slightly gummy. I find that can happen when the tortilla has been refrigerated and not at room temp. Overall everything was good and I'll order again. read more

Let me start by saying it's been years since I've eaten at McAllister and the food was exactly as I remember. Tasty and filling. But that's the only praise this store will get from me. The guys in the back were visited by another guy I can only assume works or worked here. That's when the F bombs started dropping with a quickness. Now, I'm an Army brat who married a sailor. That is my personal favorite curse word. But there's a time and place for it. And work where the customers can hear you, ain't it. When I called to places to go order, they hung up in my face twice. The girl that I spoke to cussed me out on the phone stating that they didn't have a bread bowl. I heard people in the background cussing and playing rap music. The service is absolutely horrible. My sandwich was over cooked. I was excited to eat lunch here, but wow I was disappointed. I ordered the pick 2 with the Caesar salad being what I was most excited about. First of all while waiting, there were about 5 tables with plates and bowls that hadn't been cleaned off. Then there was another handful of tables with no plates and bowls and cups, but still not cleaned. So pieces of food and crumbs and just not wiped off at all. So I'm looking for somewhere to sit which has proven quite difficult even though there was only ONE other person eating there. I finally find a table but there was hair on the seat. I brushed it off with a napkin bc at this point it's my only option. Now the food comes. My Caesar salad had the dressing on the side which every time I get a Caesar salad it's tossed. There's not even enough room on my plate to toss it so I don't bother. The lettuce is ice cold and not fresh. There are actual brown pieces throughout, so then I'm glad it isn't tossed or maybe I wouldn't notice the rotten lettuce. The sweet tea was the only thing that tasted good!! The workers were nice but I won't be back bc I actually contemplated getting fast food on the way home I was still hungry. Oh and the whole time I'm eating, no one cleaned any of the dirty tables. read more

When I moved over to baton rouge and realized there wasn't a mcalisters I was so BUMMED! This location was just opened in march according to staff, and WOW. I got a choose 2 with a king club and salad and they matched all my accommodations and SO MUCH FOOD. It was delicious. The music in the restaurant was nice, it was so clean. The staff was so down to earth. I definitely would recommend. I also never do reviews, go check this place out! read more

Absolutely HORRID experience! The service was terrible, and the food took 30+ minutes for one sandwich. They also rang me up for the wrong sandwich, and I didn't realize until the food came out.The worker who brought me my sandwich was rude and blamed me saying my food had been ready and she had already called it out, despite the fact that I was right there. My family and I were elated to find out that Baton Rouge was finally getting a McAlister's deli again after they closed both BR locations many years ago. My husband and I are devout McAlister's fans and often travel to their nearest location in Lafayette to get our peach tea and chipotle chicken sandwich fix. So you can imagine our delight when we heard that McAlister's was headed back to our neck of the woods! Unfortunately, it looks like we'll be heading back to Lafayette to get the full McAlister's experience as we've been to the new Baton Rouge location twice in the last month and have experienced the same issue both times...COLD FOOD! I'm not sure how a sandwich could come out burnt and cold at the same time, but I know that's not up to classic McAlister's standards. Our food was cold, wrong, and it took forever to come out of the kitchen. I'm not sure if this location is just taking some time to hit their groove or if some kitchen personnel changes need to happen, but something needs to change. I'm giving this place 2 stars as of now, because the service staff and manager are extremely friendly and very helpful! The customer service is on point and the peach tea is just as amazing as it has always been. The kitchen staff just needs some help, desperately! I'd give it another month or two before going back. Hopefully that'll give them some time to work out these kinks, because we are so ready for the delicious bliss that is McAlister's deli meals! read more

I was in the drive thru line for 30 minutes before I was able to get my food that I placed an order for ahead of time. Mind you there were only 5 cars ahead of me. Once you're in the line, you can't get out--meaning you're stuck in waiting for who knows how long. I don't even think you can order at this window, so i think they were just taking that long on placed orders. By the time I got my food it was all cold (and it was soup and a "hot" sandwich). There were 4 workers crowded around the drive thru window, only one of which was actively doing something. I was so excited about this opening but I'm extremely disappointed.
