Mansfield location was so fresh . The sandwich was so beautifully made. Can't wait to go back to that location. It 's not as close to me as Cedar Hill. I had the club sandwich . 5 stars for that location. The cedar hill location just needs to prepare it better . I tried it about 5 times and always have to call back. Always ask for extra bacon but it never seems like I get it and it's not crispy. I have to take what little pieces I can find and fry some more at home. Really shouldn't have to do all that. My go-to sandwich is a Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It should be simple to prepare and priced reasonably. They use chopped chicken. The chicken itself was rubbery and not a very good taste. By chopping the chicken up, they could put less on a bun. I felt I was given less for the price I payed. I walked out thinking, "So this is how they make money!" Granted, they were newly opened and training new people so service was sketchy. The cashier spoke in a very low voice so ordering was difficult. With time, that probably will improve. But, with such a disappointment with the grilled chicken sandwich taste and style, I likely won't return. read more

We do not have a huge selection of dining places in Cedar Hill so I was expecting a crowd when I went for lunch. Surprisingly the wait was only a few minutes and the customer service was excellent. I tried the turkey bacon sandwich and was pleasently surprised. Of course you can not go to McAlister's without trying their famous sweet tea. read more

Came in after a day of shopping with the wife and kids. Our came out very fast and fresh. I asked one of the workers how long they have been open and it's only been less then a month. Stopped by yesterday for dinner ordered 2 Reubens with potatoes salad, Mac and cheese, Cheese pita pizza. Cashier's were fast at taking orders only waited less than 10 minutes for food. I have been here about 3 times since my negative review. Everything seems to have improved a lot, or maybe that particular time was an exception. To be honest, I had never been a huge McAlister's guy. My best friend and brother always took me to get their tomato soup and the chicken chipotle ranch club as they were in love with it. The location opened about the same time as their counterpart but it remains excellent in service, quality, and cleanliness. I decided to go back and give them another shot. But tonight we got home and found moldy bread in my son's grilled cheese. I can forgive that they left food out of our last order (it happens) but after the company reached out and promised to rectify it and never did, and especially now that my child was given moldy bread, I think it's safe to say we're officially done with this place. I tried to call and speak with a manager to at least warn them to check their bread but when I call the number listed on Google for them it says the call can't be completed. read more

EDIT 4/1/18: This place has most definitely and inevitably become a part of the epidemic of terrible service that sadly plagues Cedar Hill. I, as a frequent visitor who has the chance to interact with the majority if not all of the employees, feel more than qualified to make this claim based solely on my numeruous experiences. The corporate feel and sentiment that was a part of this establishment in the beginning has noticeably disappeared, and management is no longer interested in what goes on in here. The employees seem not to be concerned with what kind of service they are providing as long as they get a paycheck and this behavior seems to be reinforced and even encouraged by leadership in the store. I have been a faithful customer since they opened, but that may very well end today. I will be making my way to Arlington and spend my money where I am treated with dignity. I was excited to hear that McAlister's would be coming to Cedar Hill being that I had visited their Arlington (Highlands) location several times before. I've visited two times since they opened and can honestly say they've met my expectations. The staff seems to be handpicked, they're always walking around making sure everything is presentable and checking up on guests. They did make a small mistake the second time I visited by not putting avocado on my Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich after I specifically asked for extra avocado. I don't remember if I was charged for it or not and I took it as an honest mistake. I noticed once I was already halfway through the sandwich and I didn't bring it up to their attention for said reason. One thing I would definitely change is their ciabatta bread. For some reason it always seems a bit soggy, as though it's not baked the same day. I would like for the cashier to ask whether or not you want your bread toasted and warm as well, and not automatically assume the customer wants it toasted. I was really looking forward to a baked potato. I knew McAlister's had huge potatoes so chose to eat here. I ordered just a plain spud asking for extra butter, bacon, and chives. When I got my order, there was no butter in the potato, but lots of bacon and chives, so that was nice. there was a bowl of something creamy - i thought it might be whipped butter. but then i saw 4 packets of butter on the plate, and then realized this was a bowl of sour cream - i did not ask for this. But fine i just put it to the side, went up to the counter and asked for more butter. I didn't say anything to them about the sour cream. but i did assume that there would be butter already in the potato when i received it so that it would be melting in the potato! instead now I have a baked potato with 8 little pkgs of cold, cold, cold butter and my potato is no longer piping hot so the butter does not melt as it should! overall the potato was still good, just not as hot as when I first got the food and not enough melted butter. This place was super filthy. We took my mother in law to try McAllister's for the first time. What a waste of time! After ordering we waited over 30 minutes for food before cancelling our order. I saw several customers moving dirty plates to other tables so that they would have a somewhere to eat. I've never ever experienced anything like this. During our time here no one ever bused tables and the restaurant was quite busy. Unbelievable! read more

We came to the pre-grand opening and left full and satisfied. I enjoyed the New Yorker, and my lunch companion had the Savannah chop salad. I previously dined at McAlisters in Aurora CO and was always very pleased with the customer service and food. I went to this location earlier this evening in Cedar Hill and the customer service was good. However, the food was terrible. My husband ordered a spud and it was so burnt that there was hardly any potato filling and it was terribly dry. I ordered the taco salad which tonight should have been referred to as the jalapeño salad missing chips, sour cream and guacamole. There were so many jalapeño peppers on the salad that I filled s small cup with them. I am truly disappointed and I hope that my next visit will be better. read more

I called yesterday to place a large catering order for 11:30 delivery. When it hadn't arrived at 11:45am I called the store. They had no record of the order whatsoever. As a local I was so excited to hear we were getting a McAlisters! I love this place and even worked at one when I was in High School! After 15 years they have changes the menu a few times but I have always been able to find something I love there! My current favorite is the Horseradish, Roast Beef & Cheddar (Which I switch the Cheddar for Provolone because I am weird and cheddar is always to greasy to me) This sandwich is amazing and they don't even look at me funny when I ask for the switch on the cheese! The only downside to me is that I am soon to be leaving and will miss having a McAlisters close by unless there is one where I am going! I will remain hopeful because I don't want to wait 6 years again to have it nearby! read more

Food was tasty but the service sucks! The girl taking our order acted like she didn't want to take our order. Not friendly at all. Apparently they don't come to our tables to check and see if we need anything else. Never came to pick up plates after we were done eating and never came to refill the drinks, we had to get up and ask for them, the only reason why we expected all of these things to get done was because we have been to the Arlington location and their services are superb, they did all of these things. I revisited this restaurant several times since my last review and I was very Pleased with the service and the food.

This location will definitely be on my last to visit for a while. I ordered a Togo order with my staff while working a 9 hour day and was disappointed to say the least. I spoke with the manager but who has time to constantly go back to the restaurant to get an order correction. I will hope that the manager works on their competency level and corrects underlying issues with staff. read more
