It's rare for me to give 5 stars, but this McAllister's location earned it. The young lady taking our order was friendly and efficient. The orders were prepared quickly, and our food was fresh, tasty, and we all enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was peaceful and the dining area was clean. The manager checked on us several times and all of the staff seemed genuinely interested in serving us well. They proved to the Chipotle nearby that kind and efficient service is still possible. read more

It was dead inside the restaurant so felt a little like they were done with us after we ordered. *Overpriced: $29.59 for two "Choose Two" meals with half sandwiches and macaroni felt like a ripoff. The register also automatically adds a tip unless you add a custom tip of $0.00. *Macaroni was overcooked, soggy, with soft noodles, watery cheese, and poor flavor. It even looked old or discolored. We came in on a Sunday after church for some lunch and was kindly greeted at the counter and asked if we were ready to order. She was patient while I decided and took our order. The food was quick and delicious. We both ordered different versions of the pick two and were both happy with what we ordered. I got the 1/2 Chicken Sandwich with the 1/2 Southwest Salad. The ingredients were good and the portion was large on the salad. He got the 1/2 French Dip with the 1/2 Potato Soup and it was delicious! Can't wait to come back and pick another combo! Was at the Columbia Tn location on the 14th of April. First thing I noticed was all the dripping and sticky circles on the register counter, couldn't even place my card or hand anywhere. Most of the tables were dirty and had debris and sticky surfaces on the floor. Went into the rest room and it was also a mess with stains, water and debris on the floor. For God sakes ! The service is good, the workers are very nice. The place is always pleasant to go to. But I went to spring hill's McAlister's and it was amazing. They fill the sandwich to cover the whole bread and they load up on the salads. This one in Columbia can be pretty stingy on the fillings where parts of the bread does not even have filling. I really don't appreciate that and would even be okay if they would spread the meats to the end of the bread. The salads are small compared to Spring Hill. Please manager, to bring your restaurant up to par, you need to make better sandwiches and be a little more generous. read more

The customer service at the Columbia, Tennessee location is terrible. I entered the restaurant at 10:30 a.m. I was the only customer there. The server stood at the register and stared at me with no greeting, nor asked to take my order. When I asked if they were not required to greet customers, her response was, "What can I get you?" and my response was, "Nothing." I informed her that I would be making a formal complaint, and she never responded. This location is a disaster. If you order from here despite the warnings, make sure you check your order before leaving because I guarantee something will be wrong with it. The customer service overall is subpar, and the food simply isn't good enough to go back and deal with the mistakes and the attitude from the employees. 1. The employees are rude and/or apathetic. They look like they're in or just fresh out of high school and like they couldn't care less about their jobs if they tried. The girl cashier was on her phone (maybe that's why she didn't catch all the errors in my order as she was bagging it) and talked back to the older gentleman who seemed to be the manager on shift. This looked more like a spoiled brat talking back to her dad than an employee in a more professional setting speaking to her superior. It made me cringe. The young guy making the food also seemed upset and like he couldn't wait to leave (which is understandable but not if the customers see and hear it). He was asked about an order by the manager and apparently didn't like what he was told because this kid took several cookies and loudly slammed them on the counter where the food is placed before being bagged. The manager just stood there and did nothing about it. There's clearly a lack of discipline here, and it doesn't help that the manager allows it. 2. My order was ALL wrong. Every single item had something wrong or missing. The garden salad for whatever reason had bacon all over it. I don't eat meat. I didn't request bacon. Bacon doesn't even come with that salad at all. Why was there bacon there??? Gross. I had to pick it out. Then, the veggie half sandwich had literally (and I mean literally) ONE thin sliver of avocado. I'm not asking for a whole avocado on a half sandwich, but this was ridiculous. The kid who put the sandwich together must have also been blind because the sandwich was a mess. Even the toothpick that was inserted to keep it in place was put on the edge of the crust. This, of course, means it didn't actually hold the sandwich together. Moreover, the potato I ordered had no butter, no sour cream, and maybe two tiny slices of green onion. Were they running out of avocado and green onions or something? When I asked for the butter and sour cream, the girl up front said, "Ok" and then never got either thing. Additionally, the tea I ordered was missing. So, I had to go back to get it. The girl wasn't pleased that she had to pour the tea, as she was busy on her phone. Finally, the brookie I ordered was also missing. When I asked the bratty girl up front for it, she said, "Oh, we don't have any" and then turned her back to me to play on her phone. Excuse me?! I PAID for it. You don't just tell me you don't have any. You offer something else. Heck, it is their responsibility to tell me when I get there that something is missing and then offer a replacement. That's literally their job. I had to say, "Hello? I paid for it, so I'm not just going to gift you $2 and leave." She finally offered a brownie and I left. 3. In terms of the food: it was not great. Subway is tastier. The best thing was the potato due to its size. But it's just a potato. All the food unique to the deli itself, like the salad dressing and sandwich, were mediocre at best. The food isn't worth having to repeatedly go back to ask for half your order because the kids working there can't properly make or bag the orders. 4. It was expensive for what it is, especially when you factor in the terrible customer service. 5. The kids making the food didn't have their masks over their noses. I noticed that as I was walking out, unfortunately. Disgusting. Here's to hoping he didn't sneeze or have a runny nose while making my and others' food! Nope. Avoid if you can. We walked in and right up to the counter to order, but it took 30 minutes to get our food which consisted of 2 soups, a salad, and a French dip sandwich. I saw the cook put the French dip in the window to be served, and it sat there for 9 minutes before the rest of our order was prepared. I'm sure it would've tasted nice when it was warm. If we didn't have to rush to make our appointment, I would've said something to the manager or asked for it to be remade, but we didn't have time for that or to hear some excuse of what happened. You'd be better off driving 20 minutes to Spring Hill to that McAlisters... it would take less time, including the drive both ways. read more

i went to this location hoping that i would be wowed since spring hill location has lost its luster lately. i usually get a king club or a spud and have been severely disappointed in spring hills quality, mainly the lack of customer service. i had encountered a woman there who after i had an issue said she was the manager, named christy. while her employees were being railroaded in the kitchen she was not too concerned to help, but was too busy flirting with guys in the lobby to even try to give assistance. but not in columbia. they have one woman there that runs around there like a chicken with its head cut off. she was in every position: kitchen, front register, running food to tables, even wiping tables, all the time being cheerful and with a smile on her face. i asked the cashier her name, he said it was sierra or ciara. ive seen a few of the male managers there and they are all rude or not friendly at all but she goes that extra mile to make customers feel welcome. she also seems to interact well with fellow employees, as ive witnessed and overheard two male managers yelling at employees while i was dining. as far as the food goes, it was tasty, hot, and the presentation was great. the cashier, jake, was very nice too. kudos columbia for redeeming mcalisters in my book. and a big thank you to ciara/sierra and jake, for showing that even though you work in a fast paced and hectic atmosphere, you can still do it with a smile and a positive attitude. read more
