This is a outstanding place to eat. A baked potato is the best of the best. I eat here regular it is located in Crestview mall facing Dixie highway. Parking is not a problem. Park out front or in the lot. I think one should eat a baked potato like ice cream with a spoon . Scrape out that look last bite. read more

Anderson McAlester's management was just down right rude to our group of 3. This is the first time ever I have felt the need to leave a review. Our order was incorrect and we asked about it to see if it could be corrected! I guess that makes us trouble makers all manager did was ask cashier what we wanted and of course no apology. What a disappointment!! I stopped in here to grab a late lunch w/ my husband and was just totally disgusted with this place. The floors looked like they hadn't been mopped or swept in at least 2 days. Everything we touched had a gross, sticky, dirty feeling to it. Like no one wiped anything down. I ordered a baked potato and the sour cream was even bad. The only thing I'll come back in here for is the sweet tea. I'll grab one while I'm shopping in Crestview Hills Towne Center. We've frequented multiple McAlisters across 3 different states. This location was the worst experience ever had. Food did not meet expectation nor standard I've had at other locations. Table was dirty, silverware was dirty and there was a hair in my husband's plate. McAlisters is typically quick to get the food out but this was the longest I've ever had to wait. McAlister's Deli is an decent lunch place. I struggle with the value you get for the dollars you spend here but the food is usually pretty good. The people are working hard here but you seem to wait a long time during lunch for your food to be ready. So many options made to order, I guess it makes sense. They have a nice outside space with outside heaters for the cooler days. Overall I still prefer panera over McAlister's but this is a good place for lunch if you aren't out during the normal lunching hours. read more

I ordered a $7 BLT, a $3 kid's meal spud, and a $4 cheese cake to go. Everyone except me was given impressive 'to-go' service. The same guy was doing all the to-go orders. He carried out a bag, and a family of 4 rushed him to get their drinks refilled. He walked away never calling out that bag. The next bag was for Emily, but she stepped away. He kept calling out for Emily often. After quite a while, he saw me sitting at a table, and asked why I was waiting. I said I was waiting for my food. He said, good, that I was waiting for someone. I said, NO, I am waiting for my food. He asked my name, and checked the bag that had never been called out, and tried to give me that. I said no, I don't want that one. He said he would give me a fresh one. Later, when I tried to tell him what he had done, he denied it. He tried to blame his co-workers. When I said no, that he had handled every 'to-go' order while I had been there for the past half-hour, then he tried to blame me. About the food: The $7 BLT was good, but basic and small. The order of cole slaw was small and average tasting. The potato came with one butter and one small container of sour cream. It appeared to be warm enough to melt the butter promptly. The cheesecake was very good. The PICKLE was MISSING. Also, the menus says kids' meals come with side items but the cashier said the spud meal does not. I would not return to this location because of the poor customer service, the long wait, and the missing food. This was my first time to visit McAlister's. read more

McAlister's is a great spot for lunch. All their menu items taste great and I love their iced tea. It gets very crowded at lunchtime but it's still pretty easy to get a table. If you're looking for a deli-style head over and give it a try! read more

Try this place the next time you're in the mood for Panara! It has great salads and sandwiches along with some fantastic lemonade. I've been to this location several times (not at peak hours) and the service is always fast and friendly. I especially like that they have covered outdoor seating so you don't get rained on or sun burnt while enjoying your yummy food. read more

I had a side salad, chicken & dumpling soup, and a 4 cheese griller this weekend, and I was not disappointed. All of the above items tasted great, and were a good value for the price paid. Although I thought that everything tasted good, I would have preferred one of their delicious spuds to the grilled cheese sandwich. My father-in-law attempted to order a spud from a menu that they had in a booth, but that spud option was no longer available (they had an old menu). Visited 12/17/2009. My wife and I ordered a 'pot roast spud', 'New Yorker', macaroni & cheese, and a bread bowl of broccoli cheese soup. They took our order and we went to sit down but it was hard to find a table that wasn't dirty. We sat down at a table that looked clean but once we sat down, it was clear that it wasn't. Not a huge deal. I sipped on my sweet tea which was excellent. Ten minutes after sitting down, a guy came out and told my wife that they were out of the soup she ordered. She settled for the broccoli and cheese soup. Not a huge deal. Twenty minutes after ordering, the food finally came out and the first thing I noticed was how underwhelming the New Yorker sandwich looked. For $6, I expected a little bit more meat. The bread was nice but the sandwich itself wasn't worth the price tag. My mac and cheese was actually the first thing I took a bite of... and it was ice cold. Seriously, I've never been served something so cold in my life. Disappointing. My wife wasn't pleased with the bread bowl full of broccoli & cheese soup. Usually bread bowls a slightly toasted, but not this one. The soup inside the bread bowl wasn't good either. We decided to split a pot roast baked potato. This was the saving grace for our meal. It was very good! It was a little on the peppery side, but hey I like pepper anyway. Bottom line, i don't think I would make a point to return to McAlister's Deli. If I did end up there with some friends for some reason, I know I'd enjoy the pot roast spud and the sweet tea. read more

I totally agree with the reviews on this place being dirty. It really is a wonder how they get away with it and still the place is packed. We were there for lunch one day and one of waiters spilled an entire tray of soups, drinks and sandwiches. It went everywhere. All over patrons. All over the floor. Etc. It sat there about five minutes before anyone appeared to clean it up. When they did, it was one person who appeared with a single rag. They surveyed the situation and disappeared. It was literally a twenty minute process and it was disgusting. Several people noted it had ruined their lunch and they wouldn't be back. Lunch was mediocre. Had a "pick 2," half a sandwich and half a salad for $6.79. The salad, Savannah Chopped, was great and of decent size. The sandwich, Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar, was ridiculous - there were two quarter-sized (thickness too) pieces of beef on the whole thing. The bread was great, but . . . It was in no way an acceptable roast beef sandwich. You don't expect this from a deli, for sure! Service was fast, and it was noon, and reasonable busy. read more

Great deli and variety of entrees. Always seems rushed and short of help. Have to always check carry out orders because they go so fast, they forget something it seems. My fav is the California Reuben with a side of extra coke slaw(the best) or potato salad(equally the best) Cookies are fresh and never stale. Soups are good and hot. Need more hired help. read more

I concur that it can get crazy busy at lunch time, but what does that tell you about the food? My favorites are the Spud Ole with vegetarian chili and extra jalapenos and their fresh lemonade. The potatoes are just insane, 2 lbs I believe is the claim. Vegetarians are pretty well served here. They always have a good vegetarian chili and will substitute it on request on any item that includes chili. This alone converts several of their non-vegetarian choices. They also have nachos, cheese and other sandwiches, salads, etc. that are already veg or easily converted. Great over-sized cookies too. This is one of my favorite places to take vendors and other business visitors because of the large menu, consistent quality, and reasonable prices. I love McAllisters but the wait is always extremely long at this one. So I decided to to a call in order. Someone named Angel loudly answered the phone and I started to ask if I could order to go. Before I could finish my sentence she yelled, " sorry can't hear you, bye" and hung up on me. I had to call back two more times before someone else picked up. Nikki picked up and I asked if I could order to go and she put me on hold for five minutes. I get it's crazy busy during lunch but a little bit of professionalism goes a long way. This place needs a deep cleaning. I wonder why no one has complained to the health department. What once used to be a great sandwich shop, has turned into a lunch time nightmare. This location is constantly understaffed and no one is out cleaning the floors or tables. We've been three times. The first time, I overlooked the dirty floors and tables. We tried again, and the same dirt that was there the first time, was still there. The staff seems disinterested in helping the customers, and the plates come out looking like someone just thew some bread together with a side of greasy chips. Really enjoy the potatoes and soups here, and my husband loves the tea and sandwiches. It is a little pricey, but if the price doesn't scare you there's a good chance you'll enjoy your meal here. Also, if you don't get a cookie (or 2) you're doing it all wrong. read more
