McAlister's is reliable, and with their menu that's more than enough for me. What does that mean? It means I get the same sandwich every time I go in there, and I don't have to worry about getting food below a certain quality. It's clean, the employees are nice, the service is good and the food is tasty. There's never a hassle here, and it doesn't matter if I'm sitting down with a large group, grabbing food to go or just having a meal alone, there's never any hassle. Good management here. I had to come back to get them and when I returned and let them know I had to drive all the way back and the answer was "well our orders get stolen sometimes". I really doubt that. I love McAlister's Deli. I worked at one as a teen, and I have been eating there for years. We have probably eaten at atleast 15 different locations. This location in Fayetteville is the ONLY ONE that nickels and dimes you for every little thing, unfortunately. Literally, everything you ask for is a fee even if it used to or should come with the item like sour cream for a potato, 2nd dressing for a large salad (75 cents+ for each). And half the time they forget the condiments or toppings anyway, so you always have to go up there and ask. They also have made their cup sizes much smaller than they used to be for dressings/sauces (1-2oz) yet they still only include 1 whether you have a side dish or a full size. Also this may have been a 1 time thing, but I ordered a sandwich to go before, and it wasn't even in a box. Just wrapped in paper and placed right in the bag so it leaked all over and got crushed. I asked the employee if they always serve togo orders like that, and she said yes, which I had never seen here. Another corner cut? Their prices are also higher than other locations we have been to in nearby Missouri. I still go once or twice a month, though b/c I love the food, and it's the only one in the area (next closest is Bentonville and it is the same owner). Here are my favorite menu items : giant stuffed spuds are all good but Spud Max is my fave, Reuben and Rachael sandwiches, signature Club sandwich, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Jalapeno Turkey Crunch, Savannah Chopped Salad. Also the Sweet Tea is my fave always and you can buy a refillable tumbler for 99 cent refills (not sold here that I have seen but bought in Missouri). Best deal is the Choose 2 option. They also have kids eat free on Monday nights. The staff is mostly nice and helpful although I have never been asked for a refill of my drink when I am eating my meal like other locations do. There is a female manager that always looks angry but everyone else smiles and greets people for the most part. Also get the app. It saves you money and you earn rewards. read more

I eat McAlister's at least twice a month, this specific location. Today i ordered my usual PICK 2 deal, a spud max and cup of broccoli cheddar soup, through the app. I guess I should have checked the order before leaving the restaurant because I was missing my soup. I get home (about a 15 min drive one way) and noticed my missing soup. Ordered the Rueben sandwich ($7.29) corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss and thousand island dressing on toasted rye bread, with my choice of side of potato salad. The Rueben was just ok but the meat portion was generous. For a beverage got the 44 oz " cut" green tea ( half sweet half regular). Maybe we were there on a bad day (03/12/21) but service and quality were below par for us. It was an early lunch and only 2 other tables were filled so they weren't slammed. The girl who took the order may have been new but she seemed indifferent and barely answered our questions about one or two of the options we considered. I am very grateful for McAllister's gluten-free options. Today I enjoyed a savanna chopped salad, veggie chili, and a side of potato salad. They were all delicious, and GF! I am still new to navigating restaurant eating on a gluten-free diet, so I was also happy to see how easy it was to navigate their online menu. All I had to do was enter in the allergens I wanted to avoid, in this case gluten, and it pulled up every menu item that I could eat. There may need to be a bit more research done for someone who is sensitive to cross contamination, but for me I had a very enjoyable lunch with minimal effort. I have been here once so far. The food was really good to me. We had a pretty big crowd with us and everyone talked about how they liked the food. Did not have any issues and had plenty of choices on the menu. I will be going back. The prices seemed fair and for a sandwich and soup type place I really liked it. Almost gave a five star rating but the only reason I didn't is just my own personal dislike to order at a counter instead of a menu for a walk in restaurant. I'm a huge McAlister's Deli fan and have been coming to this location for years. It's awesome except for one thing, and that's the waiting line. There's a nice big area where people wait but the line backs up into the eating area because management won't invest in one of those waiting line ropes. It wound significantly help people move forward and control the traffic issues. You're not the only MD location without this, so it's not specific but it makes the experience SO much better for those waiting. read more

The absolute worst treatment, from a member of management, that I have ever experienced in my life! There was no way I could have stayed and enjoyed a meal at this establishment after the rude, condescending way she spoke with me at the counter. I was ready to leave when she hatefully told me she refused to serve us (which was fine with me, I wouldn't trust her with my order after the way she spoke to me). I have been to other McAlister's and they have never been hateful. I tried reaching out to them to resolve the issue and just got an email back from her. I reached out again, and have been told it's a franchise. In other words, this place doesn't care how rudely they treat their customers. I will say that, any time I've eaten at any other McAlister's, it was good. I do not recommend the Fayetteville, AR location. My suggestion is to make sure you go to one that isn't included in this franchise, or skip McAlister's and go somewhere else. read more
