Update. This restaurant seems to have really improved since my last review. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I usually just stop by for a tea or a quick sandwich, but everything is usually fresh and tasty. Wait time still takes a while, but I don't mind as long as it's not 30+ minutes and old food like before. I also appreciate that they have student and military discounts and participate in our local school Spirit nights. read more

I've gone to this location a year or two ago and it was great even when there was a rush. Today when I went the person who took our order had an attitude like we were bothering him and I debated going somewhere else since it was busy. I felt rushed so even though I had trouble reading what was put on the tiny display screen I didn't ask him to read back our order before paying. When we went back to the car (it was a to-go order) he had messed my food order up. I don't think I'll go back any time soon. Even though the other slim's I go to is farther down the road I think I'll go there next time. I'll give it 3 stars since this is an odd experience for me usually the people working are friendly and ask questions to make sure the order is correct. read more

12/23/24 5:59pm Just watched the nametagless cashier handling boxes drop one of the paper liners onto the dirty floor, another employee i believe the name tag said Ela picked it up, shrugged, and put it back into the food tray and the unnamed cashier go put the boxes into the back for use. Keep trying this place and keep getting more and more disappointed. Good service, but inconsistent quality. 1. Chicken strips the first time. They were underwhelming, but the sauce was decent. 2. Got the club sandwich the next time. It was what Popeye's sandwich used to be: juicy, delicious sandwich. 3. Went back to get the club sandwich and they just gave me chicken strips on the sandwich this time; like they ran out of patties and thought no one would notice? I can say, coming from a customer that is usually very please with the out come of the food and service, that the Wedington location is SLACKING! My Boyfriend and I have gotten food from here many times but this last time the food was not great and then during DoorDashing we sat in the drive through at the window waiting for someone to even open it and greet us. Then 7 min of sitting in the drive through at the window they opened it and we said the name on the order and he didn't even say anything he shut the window and then grabbed the bag of food that had been sitting by the window the whole time while a line of food was sitting there waiting to go out. Great staff, always super cheerful and helpful but the salads just can't seem to be made with consistency. I love the salads but sometimes they have all ingredients well-proportioned and other times most of the additions are missing and it's meat and lettuce. Hate getting home with a meat and lettuce salad. The Harvest Salad is so fantastic but I got home with a couple slices of apple, a few craisins and some feta but no pecans at all. Decent fast food at restaurant prices. We tried a buffalo chicken wrap combo ($8.49 with $1.49 up charge for fried pickles) and 10 wings ($10-ish). The wrap had two grilled tenders lined up in the wrap like a long hot dog, and was adequate but not fantastic . The teriyaki and medium buffalo wings were pretty good. The employee said the fried pickles were good but really salty, and that was the truth . I really really enjoyed the first several but grew tired of the intense vinegar and salt taste. They would be perfect as a garnish of 2-4 slices to the wrap , but I could not finish the very generous portion that was provided. I probably be back, but I prefer Popeyes chicken on the bone for this price range. read more

I ordered the Buffalo wrap meal for myself and when I got home there was absolutely no Buffalo sauce on my chicken so instead of enjoying lunch with my family I am here visiting on vacation I had to spend the time to drive up to Slims chicken so they could fix my meal. I walked inside and I asked the manager to fix my order and to also give me a store credit and my request for a store credit was completely ignore, not even acknowledged at all. Also when i do get slims its when i am on my lunch break from work so i get carry out. I do order ahead of time. That being said I've eaten inside & gone to the drive thru as well. Come here a lot. Almost every Friday. This place has always been top notch. They slightly messed up my order but came out and told me up front and took very good care of us. I was so happy to see a business take such great care of their customers. They are always very friendly here and we have made this our new hang out. The gentleman that waited on us (Gage I think is his name) was super awesome. Food is always on point and the service here has always been fantastic. Move over, chick-Fil-a! This place has delicious made to order chicken strips. They also have the best fried mushrooms and pickles. The have a house sauce and home-made ranch that will knock your socks off! They make everything fresh so it takes a little longer, but it's worth it! We are visiting our kids at college in Fayetteville. Coming off of a long hike really hungry we decided to pull into SC on Wedington because of the patio and we had our dog with us. Never eaten here or heard of the place. Immaculately clean! We thought it was brand new not 6 years old. They were out of chocolate shakes so they offered us 2 Brownie jar desserts FREE,, we only wanted 1 shake. I had the chicken salad and it was fresh and large portions. He had the Buffalo sandwich and fries (which were crisp and hot) all really great. They had no problem with our well mannered dog and even offered her a grilled chicken strip. we love slims so I am very sad to write that we had an awful experience last night. not only did we wait in line for almost an hour, but almost all of our food was soggy when we got home.
