I grabbed a pick up order for lunch here and it was really good. I generally review local spots but they deserved a shout out. I got the Smokey turkey pepper-jack and the turkey BLT. Both were large, fresh, and super delish. I had gone to a similar place (rhymes with Manera) a few times and always leave annoyed to pay almost $40 for 2 sandwiches & drinks for just meh food. I hate to dog on any place but McAlisters will now be my go to for a quick lunch sandwich! I also got the tea and the strawberry lemonade which were both great as well!! The food is fine, your standard McAlister's Deli fare. The service is slow, but good. When we came it seemed understaffed, but there were also only a couple people dining in, which is so different than the good ole days when McAlister's had lines out the door! The manager did a lot of the work prepping the food, and putting together our order. He was energetic and kind. I'll give him that. What sucked though, was we felt like we couldn't eat in the dining room; there was a weird sour smell that was slowly stealing our appetites as we stood and waited for our order. We asked for our order to go and ended up eating it in the car. We were between basketball tournament games so we couldn't go home, what can you do! Seemed like a bummer to not feel able to use one of the many available seats in the room, I promise, the smell was a huge deterrent. If they fix that, they should be golden! read more

We love McM, but this location is so hit and miss with service. Yesterday I placed a to go order and I had to go in three separate times to get my complete order. Glad I checked, but history has taught me well from past issues. Today my other daughter wanted it so I swung by for her simple order. I arrived a minute before the quoted time. Waited. Nothing on the carry out shelf. Five minute go by I finally ask. It was already bagged up and literally in the middle of the group of workers just chatting for the last few minutes. This location used to be good but it has gone downhill terribly. Always understaffed, the wait is always ridiculously long, and the order will be wrong half the time. On my most recent visit, I called in an order for chili in a bread bowl. The order was repeated back, I drove 15 minutes to get the order, only to have to wait another 20 minutes on top of that (I was told 15 minutes on the phone, not 35). Then, to make matters worse, when I pointed out that my order was missing a bread bowl I was told they no longer have bread bowls. And I was blatantly lied to and told they hadn't had them for "over two years", despite the fact that I clearly see a bread bowl order in the last year. There was no sympathy or effort to correct the situation, even when I said the only reason I ordered the chili was for the bread bowl. Basically just a cold shoulder shrug and "it is what it is". When I asked why I wasn't told on the phone that they don't have bread bowls so I could have avoided the unnecessary drive, the response was "we haven't had bread bowls for two years". So I wasted nearly an hour of my evening to be lied to. Terrible customer service. Terrible way of handling a problem. Lying to customers. I will never visit this location again, and I'd advise everyone else to do the same. read more

We went to McAlister's tonight, and it was wonderful! The food was delicious, each of the team members provided great service and, best of all, it was very clean! I ordered the Spicy Turkey sandwich and broccoli cheese soup. The sandwich was perfectly tasty, and the bread was crispy and not too thick. My husband and daughter had the grilled chicken club and a Cobb salad, and they loved their meals . I am very impressed and will be coming here often! read more

After ordering we waited 30 min and still had no food. When I went to check on it, they had lost the order. When I asked for the manager I was told he was scared to come out. Several other customers were also missing orders, we were waiting long enough to make friends. After re-ordering we did finally receive food, such as it was. I had ordered the Horseradish Roast Beef with Cheddar. What I got was one sad piece of beef on a large piece of bread with way too much sauce. This is my second 1-star experience with this location. This time, I placed a takeout order through the McAlister's app. My chicken caesar wrap came unfolded in the container and was a complete mess -- basically a salad atop a soggy tortilla. (Shouldn't it have been wrapped up or stuck together with toothpicks? What dummy just throws a wrap in a to-go box?) I was also shorted a pickle spear. And the worst offender? The cup of chili I ordered was a SOLID MASS in a half-filled cup. Burned lumps were clearly visible. It had obviously been scraped out of the bottom of a pot by a lazy employee who didn't want to deal with refilling the pot. (And, look, I've worked in restaurants. I know that this chili isn't made in-house. We're talking about something as simple as cracking open a new can and dumping it in a pot. How lazy can you get?) When I called the restaurant to share my thoughts with the manager, I was told that he was too busy to come to the phone. Which holds with my previous review, in which I mention how SWAMPED the manager always seems. Every time I visit, there are three bored-looking high school kids standing behind the counter doing NOTHING while the manager dashes around the restaurant, delivering orders and putting out fires. Clearly the employees lack training on how to better run the front-of-the-house, whereas the kitchen could benefit from a manager's attention. There is just no excuse for serving the slop I was given. I LOVE McAlister's. I've lived near several other locations (Denton being one) that were consistently excellent, well-managed, and staffed with employees who were present and engaged in their work. This location has NEVER gotten their act together, despite the many, many negative reviews it has received here on Yelp. What is going on at this restaurant and why hasn't it been fixed? read more

This is your average McAlister's deli. If you haven't been to one they serve up some decent deli style food at some decent prices and good service. There's nothing that shines or is above your run of the mill deli but that shouldn't put you off from trying this place out next time you want some soup and salad or sandwich and spuds. read more

I order the club sandwich with side salad and my daughter Mac n cheese kids meal. My food was good, no complaints. My daughter however was very grossed out by the Mac n cheese which was basically just cheesy milk with barely any noodles and the fact that they forgot her cookie. They weren't busy. I'm not too surprised to see the many poor reviews, nor see that they get a management apology but with no apparent tangible addressing of the issue at the restaurant location. I'm making this review because I came here tonight and they're out of potatoes. So, while I'm at it, let me say this place is almost always empty and almost always dirty. Photo evidence here - completely empty of dine in customers and five tables needing cleaning. After going back and forth with DoorDash and MCallisters, 2 hrs later I'm told my order will be re-made and sent to me. That was around 7:30. It's 9:05 and no food! Food quality = great! Kitchen staff = great! Counter staff = garbage. The service is what has gone down. In two separate instances in a month, the counter service was rude, inefficient and all clearly needed a hug. This last time I placed a to go order at the counter with a teenage who if he cracked a smile clearly would have combusted into flames, so it was that "Im so stoked to be here" mentality which makes one feel so welcome in no way whatsoever. Now both times the kitchen staff was on point. They made the food super quick, everything was fresh and tasted wonderful as usual. This lat time though I saw the order come up in the window. There was 3 people working the counter mind you. They started taking orders out to people in the restaurant, all fine and dandy. However I noticed people who ordered after me WAY more food started getting their orders taken out. A girl was stocking some cups. Another guy just starting off into the abyss. Keep in mind I've been seeing my order sitting in the window now close to 10 minutes. I finally walked up to the counter to see if anyone could do their job and pack the to go order. Few people walked by, as though I was invisible. Finally I asked one of the guys if he could please put my order in a bag so I could leave. He did so, didnt apologize and gave a default "have a nice afternoon!" in the most sarcastic teenage angst way, then turned around and walked off. If people are placing a to do order. It means they don't want to sit and hang out in your restaurant, they're trying to leave. They dont need their food getting soggy or cold in the process. Would love to keep eating here because they have great sandwiches but take a page out of the book from ChikfilA and teach the counter staff how to be polite and efficient. read more

This location is fantastic. The restaurant is very well run, clean, and the food is fresh. Although McAlisters is a national chain this location makes you feel like your at a mom and pop restaurant with local art and area high schoolers running the front end. If you eat there they make sure your Tea is filled and always ask of you need anything. I love the salads they are all good and my husband loves the Italian sub. I hate giving this chain this review- but this particular location is always a let down. Last month, my family ordered four entrees. We picked up, and when we got home, we only had three entrees. They offered to make it- but we live 15 minutes away. They said they could issue a refund for the one entree- but it had to go through corporate and would take a few days. Ok, whatever. I did get the $10 refund later that week. Tonight, we decided to give them another chance. I ordered online, and selected curbside pickup. I pulled up, called the number posted on the sign, and the employee said they were 'bagging it up' . I asked them to double check that it was right, as last time there was an entree missing. They said that they would. I waited 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 15 minutes. At this point, there are no customers on that side of the building. At that point, I get out of my car. My order is sitting on the shelf. I ask the four employees if curbside pickup wasn't something that happened- and they said 'it is- you have to call us!' All four of them looked at me blankly- I had most definitely spoke to one of them 17 minutes prior. Quarantine is hard. We are all trying our best to keep our families safe and continue to support businesses. Ordering to go food shouldn't be a hassle. This location has officially lost my business. It's really disappointing that it seems like this is most definitely a trend at this location. I will be spending my dining dollars elsewhere. read more

I've taken out from this location in the past and this is the first time I've eaten in. Given I was there first thing in the morning, everything was clean and tidy. The staff moved pretty fast despite a line out the door before opening to celebrate the tea fest event they're doing right now. Get a 30 day tea pass for $7 is the deal. As always, the food is fresh and delicious. If you order curbside pickup, they are fast and friendly. I don't know if the morning tea is less sweet but I could cut back on the sugar anyways I love the pecanberry salad. Both times I ordered it, the berries were super fresh and sweet. Spuds are always a win, and my better half likes the California chicken club. I'll definitely be back in the next 30 days to use my tea pass but also after that because the food is great here. My mom warned me about this McAlister's, but I wanted to give it a chance. It's not uncommon that she will dislike a place that I find to be just fine. However, mon was right about this one. I ordered sweet chipotle chicken sandwiches and got a hard-bread, cheese, and dry chicken sandwich, on both. At first look, I actually thought there was no sauce, but if look hard, right in the center, you can see someone barely brushed on a small line of sauce in the center. See the pics below for what I got from Frisco vs what I got from my McAlister's in Addison (which looks like what I get at all other McAlister's). I had to put some Kraft chipotle dressing on it to make it edible. I've been to multiple McAlister's in Tyler, Waco, Mesquite, and stops along various vacations, and have never had an issue. My McAlister's in Addison is always good. But this Frisco location appears to struggle. Normally, I wouldn't write a review after one meal. To be honest, I'm hardly ever bothered enough to write a review at all. But knowing this isn't a fluke based on the warning I ignored, I just want to help others out. I like McAlister's. They have normal fare, nothing snazzy just a place to go if you want a good sandwich, many to choose from. And there was my favorite the giant spud. The toppings are amazing but I'm a pretty basic person. If I like something that's what I usually order every time I go. And the size. I don't see how a person can eat a whole one. Well let me get to why I gave McAlister's only 2 stars. It's a bummer thing to do but I have to be honest and sadly I got a baked potato that was not completely done. Maybe 50%, I'll even go as high as 60%. But that 40% ruined the potato. It was cooked but to a crunchy cook. I could have put it back in the oven for another 1/2 hour. I could have thrown it in the microwave but who likes hot sour cream and green onions? I'm going to throw in the BLT. Getting their pick two is a great way to try something new for a while. I love BLT's, lightly toasted. They are a good sandwich to eat when your hungry but not enough for a full meal. I looked down and saw bread that wasn't toasted, cool to the touch. And what a mess. It was a sloppy sandwich where you didn't know how to pick it up. I cut the half in half so I figured a quarter sandwich would definitely be easier to pick up. Nope not true. Some fell out and what did manage to make it into my mouth always seemed to be the greens but I got a couple good bites in. The only thing that annoyed me was the barely toasted cool bread. That was a big reason for a two star review. It's a shame. When you get a meal that was obviously done in a hurry you have to wonder what's going on in the kitchen. read more
