This place has been on the list for some time. I wasn't to sure about it but boy am I glad I gave them a try! The burger and fries is my go to!!! THEY USE WINDEX TO ' CLEAN' THE TABLES. MAJOR HEALTH CODE VIOLATION! :(( Not only is it heartbreaking that I have to post this... but repeatedly we watched staff use Windex on tables, after we had already mentioned, this was a Health code violation. We had to ask multiple times to speak to a manager as one was not sent over after the third ask. When a manager finally did arrive at the table he divulged that he had worked there for six years and they use Windex to clean the tables instead of sanitizing them ( which they apparently do at the end of the evening...). He also stated that they don't use degreaser on the tables, cause it leaves streaks... not sure that has anything to do with being up to code and actually disinfecting a table so patrons do not get sick. Being in the restaurant industry for as long as my husband and I have been we're questioning their serve safe certification and if they understand specific codes and policy, that you abide by working in the restaurant industry. Shame on the owner of this restaurant and all of the staff that are supposedly health code knowledgeable and certified. Please do better. We will not be back and I sincerely caution anyone that goes into this restaurant. read more

Food is good, restaurant is clean and pretty inside. It's a quaint quiet sweet place to eat.

Went to a lunch here and this place was super cute and quaint. Loved the open concept in seeing the kitchen. One of those order at the counter and sit places; not my favorite styles to order because I feel rushed; but the wait staff was very attentive so it made it feel like a traditional sit down spot. I'm not usually a sandwich/salad orderer; but that was the basis of their menu. I ordered the avocado BLT with the broccoli salad. The salad was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the flavors. The sandwich was pretty tasty. This place definitely is the go to around town for a quick lunch and go. My gf and were meeting up for our birthday and after we ate we were obviously chatting and catching up; but we were asked to leave because there people waiting. I have eaten here once. Had some kind of chicken salad with avocado. Food was good. The second time was awful. I tried to call them as I live in Prosper. The phone call was not answered. We drive up to Celina and got in line only to be told they were not taking orders for twenty minutes. No telling how long we would wait for our food. Drove back to Prosper and got great food and service at Roma's. We won't be returning here to potentially waste our time ever again. read more

Menus at counter, people in line and order dine in at counter she said... when we got up there, we were looking at menu with people behind us, we felt rushed... stupid, let us sit and look over menu. Ate dinner last evening at Toasted Walnut because they advertised Christmas Carolers and I thought it would be a festive holiday treat. While the singers were in period costumes and their voices were incredible, the food and service stole the show for me. I had the fish tacos and the guys had Wagyu burger with house made chips. Decided to try another local watering hole in Celina with a couple of friends. This time we visited the Toasted Walnut after hearing some good reviews. Arrived early on a Friday evening and there were a couple of tables occupied and a rather young crew tending to front of the house. It's unfortunate that they didn't master the beer tapping class as everyone's beer was flat with no head. Reminded me of ale in an English pub. Had a drink at the bar before moving to our table once our friends arrived. We opted for a booth which seems rather odd for a restaurant because it is closed off evening has its own little fan and curtains. We had to order at the counter before sitting down, also strange for a restaurant as they eventually did take additional drink orders from the table. I had the burger, my wife had the fish tacos and our friends had the brisket tacos and Nashville chicken sandwich. I have to be honest as the food tasted very very good. The place is definitely not fancy and very casual. And I guess some of its quirky bits make it kind of unique. Will definitely head back again some time soon. read more

This place is fantastic! From the really cool private booths, to the chandeliers everywhere, the esthetic is amazing. My wife and I ordered hot pimiento cheese dip, the brisket patty melt and the brisket tacos and they were fantastic. The food is as good as the atmosphere. We have visited Toasted Walnut around six or seven time and we have yet to have anything terrible here. Quality really shines in this place. You can tell it's fresh. I am a fan of the Wagyu burger ( One of the best burgers in town...dare I say it) , I love their homemade ranch with their fries, turkey sandwich, Brisket Patty Melt, and Hot Chicken Sandwich. This was our first time here and we loved it! We ordered the hot pimento cheese with homemade chips, the Wagyu burger, and chicken salad. My mouth is still watering from that burger. And, we loved the pimento cheese so much that we ordered one to take home. The place is very cute and the workers were all very friendly. We ordered takeout from here on a week night. The place was surprisingly packed at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. We ordered the pimento starter, nashville chicken and the Turkey sandwich. I was surprised to find out they had gluten free bread! The pimento cheese dip was very good. The chips however didn't have the best flavor. They almost had an over cooked taste. The Turkey sandwich was very good! It had a nice spicy kick to it. I was shocked that the gluten free bread didn't just fall apart when I picked it up. The food here was very good. Very impressive addition to the Celina community ! I often take note of how restaurants execute their basic dishes and / or sides before venturing onto their main fare. In this instance the Toasted Walnut excels! The ambiance is a mixture of upscale & elegant with a touch of industrial. It all comes together very nicely. Joining a small family gathering. I selected the chicken salad sandwich w/ a nice Mediterranean salad. Both were simply fantastic ! Who knew how good a chicken salad sandwich could actually be ? ! ! ! Who gets excited about a chicken salad sandwich? ? I do now ! ! ! And the Mediterranean salad was equally impressive. The service was impeccable as well. We visited the Toasted Walnut for the first time with no idea what to expect. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who gave us some suggestions on what to order. The atmosphere was very casual and comfortable. What I liked was the semi private tables. They were completely enclosed on 3 sides which provided an area for private conversations My wife and 3 year old granddaughter shared the 4 cheese sandwich and fries. I had the Wagyu burger and fries. To begin with everything was very good. We'll be back The niger was 2 patties, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a real good sauce. Big enough that I couldn't eat it all. Weird business model. When you enter at the host stand, they take your order and you pay and tip at time of ordering. They don't communicate this process very well. I typically tip well, but I'm not a fan of tipping pre meal. The food is good but the service and wait times aren't great. Poor communication from the staff. Waited 20 minutes for a salad. read more

I was so overcome with the smoke in this place that I had to eat quickly so I could leave. The food is most always delicious, I've eaten here several times, but I don't remember it being so smoky. It was literally hard to breathe in there tonight. Anyone with asthma or breathing issues....I wouldn't recommend you eat here. Please, do something about your venting system at the grill. The brisket tacos are my fav- with the side salad- it's a *chef's kiss*. Extremely flavorful, unique, filling, it's everything you want in a meal. The food is really good here. I met the owner at a couple's cooking class at Collin College before trying the restaurant and was impressed by the quality of the food. It's fresh and well prepared. Best Wagu burger I've ever had. You get 2 huge patties with the usual toppings. The fries are beyond delish. The rest of the group had the burgers with the exception of one grilled cheese (she said it was okay.) We also had the pimento dip with chips, it was very good. I look forward to trying other dishes. It's sort of an odd setup though. You purchase your food at the counter, then find a table to sit. They will serve you, however if you decide on additional food/drinks you have to pay again. Most restaurants give you the bill at the end of your meal. It was not a problem, just different. It's a charming little restaurant, the staff was very friendly, and we will be back. read more

They have a cute little shop in the entrance area, you order before sitting down, too. So give yourself a few mins to look over the menu. I ordered the Waygu burger, SOOOO FLIPPIN DELISH!!
